Barry dropped his glasses on the floor. He didn’t even miss a beat at 89. Wish someone saw n helped him pick them up. What a legend!

You are absolutely correct, but it happened so fast most did not know if he needed or if one would be distracting the Master. He clearly showed the importance of always being prepared for the unexpected and improvise. Always teaching for sure and showing preparation.

Hello, The context is a whole bunch of senior citizens, for one night only to go out and meet all their long lost friends and an opportunity to have someone listen to them. Once a Year Thanksgiving Dinner or the Christmas Dinner sponsored by the Jazz Foundation of America maybe not the best location for an undivided attention for Mr. Harris (lol) But they love him and he loves them the same.

I remember Barry in a casual setting once commenting how he really hated performing before a noisy, talkative audience. This clip shows you why. Sooooo inconsiderate of this audience...I mean really...

It was the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by the Jazz Foundation of America. If you ever have family members close to around Barry's age who have not seen each other in a year due to age and travel restrictions, who use to play together for One Night Only. Consider it the happiest moments of their lives not to mention all the other great musicians that played that night. It is called senior citizens uncontrolled pandemonium and love all in one room.

The context of the recording is at X-mas holiday dinner. Were all the Seniors and Musicians and fans of his age group get out once or twice a year. Eat dinner, socialize with whom they have not seen in 365 days. Its a version of senior citizen recess after school. Buddy Rich had quite a few "conversations" with talkies at his club. His agent and club promoter almost had a heart attack (lol).
