    Great video, thank you for the time and effort in making it. I personally always "Shuffle Within Question" to decrease cheating, even on multiple choice questions. The way to get around "All Of The Above" being problem is to instead change the wording to, "All Of The Other Answers Are Correct". That way, it can appear anywhere in sequence. Shuffling Within Questions, I believe, also forces me to write better questions.

      Dan, that is simple and ingenious all at the same time. :) Great pointer!

    What a great tutorial. Gone through tons of videos and just came to the right place. Keep it up and share your experience that we can follow

    I would definitely use the Shuffle option so the answers are shuffled. Instead of using “none of the above” just change it to “none of these options”

    a little question - can i prevent same question to appear twice in the same quiz in second attemp
    if i give student 2 attempts at one quiz and create 10 questions "question bank" how do i ensure that the student who failed on first attemp and now doing his second won't see the same question again?

    Great video Josh.....helped me a lot. Do you have a link for how to 1) add a password to the quiz and 2). How to create the question bank from scratch?

    • @mlcjohnson16
      @mlcjohnson16  Před 4 lety

      Hey Flowy. I'm sure I can get something together for you (or at least find a video that someone else has done). The password can be set in the QUIZ SETTINGS, and the question bank isn't terrible. Feel free to send me an email as well. You can find me listed under the WLC faculty directory (google search) if you can't send one through CZcams.

    Just want to ask? What is the correct format for preparing question when typing them so they can be read or accommodated by the platform?

    Great video. One question though, If your question bank has questions that have different point values, why are they all worth 1 pt when you create a random quiz?

    • @mlcjohnson16
      @mlcjohnson16  Před 3 lety

      That's an annoying feature in my opinion. Especially if you have a large quiz with a lot of different values... it is hard to change all of them because of the number of clicks needed.
      I think a lot revolves around the fact that a question bank and quiz are separate entities entirely. I don't know if there is a optimized workflow for changing point values in newer versions of Moodle. We just upgraded to 3.9, so I'm going to check it out.

    • @MichaelKnichel
      @MichaelKnichel Před 3 lety

      @@mlcjohnson16 I think it actually is taking the point value from the bank now. I did a test and the point value was based on the points in the bank rather than 1 pt each.

    • @mlcjohnson16
      @mlcjohnson16  Před 3 lety

      @@MichaelKnichel THANKS!! That is exciting. (Of course... I have all my test banks with default values... so now I need to remember to update the bank rather than just the quiz when I make new ones :) This is pretty awesome though!

    If you add a random question from a question bank, Is it possible that it uses the same question more than once?

    • @Ridisword
      @Ridisword Před 3 lety

      @Osay Actually it isnt. I tried it, if you have a question bank with 2 questions and you set the Quizz to have 3 questions, it wouldnt let you go through cause questions wont repeat and youd be missing one

    You didn't answer my question though. What is grade to pass?

    • @mlcjohnson16
      @mlcjohnson16  Před 4 lety

      I’ve never used it, but I believe it is for items or grade books that are pass / fail. I leave it blank as we usually use a normal grade scale from A through F.

    How to make more than one question with true or false

  • @walterbyrd8380
    @walterbyrd8380 Před 4 lety

    Is there a way to create a common question bank, where I can pull questions into different courses? I have a course in networking, and another course in cybersecurity, and I want to pull some of the networking questions into my cybersecurity course. Any way to do that?

    • @mlcjohnson16
      @mlcjohnson16  Před 4 lety

      Yes, depending on your role level, when you create question banks you can move them into higher categories. One sec and I'll get some info.

    • @mlcjohnson16
      @mlcjohnson16  Před 4 lety

      Check out the following moodle post. But you'd have to have the administrator create a role for sharing question banks. (See the bottom of the page).
      The other option would be to export and import the question bank from one of the courses into the other to have it available in both.
