    Thank you for your videos so much. I finally hit my first 999 ever and your videos helped out so much. Before I was struggling to hit even vp 200.

    Yeah H3 ain't great but if you struggle with the attack intervals here's some advice:
    The intervals between shots is about the rhythum of star wars imperial march so if hum that to yourself and fire on the beats you can maximise your damage output. Really helped the weapon feel less stiff and adkward for me.

      That’s actually fire lol (I’m totally not here admitting I’ve never seen a star wars film so would never have thought about that!!!)

      I think their is a similar thing you can do with L3 and a hamilton song but that's obviously less helpful since it's alot easier to get away just spamming the trigger with L3
      Still stand by H3 being SR's like 2nd or 3rd worst weapon

    • @rachelskiiiiiii
      @rachelskiiiiiii  Před 5 měsíci

      I’m with you, it’s just terribly outclassed by every other similar weapon. There’s always a better mid-range shooter to have.

      Oh that's such a smart way to remember it! Do you happen to know a song that works for the splatana stamper? I have a lot of trouble using it, I really wish Splatoon let us buffer inputs

    When you say players can feel like they're stuck in mud after firing, I think it's worth specifying exactly why that's the case: it's because the cooldown period before you can fire again also prevents you from entering swim form, which you would normally use to quickly escape a hairy situation or otherwise reposition before your next burst. This has always been my biggest issue with H-3, as the simple act of firing the weapon becomes much more of a commitment than you'd expect from a shooter. I hadn't thought about doing jump shots for extra mobility while firing though. Reminds me a lot of blasters, really, and I wonder if it can be worth viewing H-3 more through that lens than as a shooter at least in terms of its movement and positioning (obviously it doesn't have a blaster's AoE but the lack of overall bullets emphasizes focusing on single beefy targets).

    5:47 As someone who can't use motion controls due to owning a wired controller, this guide will help me make fire by rubbing two sticks together. Thank you!
    3:39 Geez, I felt that, this was painful to watch! Nice movement, by the way! If the devs were put in the same position, these weapons would've been buffed by now.

      @rachelskiiiiiii  Před 5 měsíci +3

      Thanks for watching! And yeah, I appreciate motion isn’t for everyone, for many different reasons. I mentioned it because H3 is one of the few weapons that I saw a noticeable improvement with when I switched to motion and now I *tolerate* it rather than hate it lol so it was more just a random factor that has helped me and may help others.

  • @McC0n0r
    @McC0n0r Před 5 měsíci +1

    The way you kept killing Stingers but more continued appearing over and over again connected deeply with the Salmon Run experience I had last night. Pretty sure I killed at least 5 of them in a single wave at one point. Lol.
    Also your segment about motion/gyro controls felt a litle off topic. As a new subscriber, I enjoyed hearing a bit about your personal Splatoon journey, but the subject matter is ultimately a universal one rather than specifically H-3 related.
    Anyways, I didn't know about the "jump to splat Stingers" tip, so I'll be keeping that in the ol' mental notebook!

    • @rachelskiiiiiii
      @rachelskiiiiiii  Před 5 měsíci +3

      Hey thanks for the sub, appreciate it!
      And yeah, I get you. I try to keep the videos positive and not concentrate on why a weapon is bad but truth be told, the H3 sucks in a lot of ways and if I ever made a ranking, it’d be at the bottom or close to. It’s just terribly outclassed in every metric and has nothing going for it; there’s always a better mid-range shooter to pick. So, with that being the case, I struggled to find anything positive to say about it or find a way to sell it. But it is genuinely one of the most dramatic changes I experienced when I switched to motion that I now tolerate the weapon whereas before, I couldn’t stand it. It went from ‘unplayable’ to ‘ah, I get the way it works but it’s still shit’.
      So it’s a win in that respect but I appreciate it’s a bit of reach because it’s a subjective and personal change and not something with the H3 itself. But it was such a profound change that I thought I’d include it (and you know, I wasn’t sure what other positive to say about it!)

      @@rachelskiiiiiii Lol, I appreciate the positive outlook! It's definitely more helpful for the viewers when you focus on the few strenghts and tips the weapon has at it's disposal rather than "This weapon sucks, good luck!"

    1:20 Correction, h3 does not have jump rng, l3 has it but h3 has perfect rng which is why u constantly jump while using it. also i would like to argue that its got above average painting, definitly much better than other weapons of that range

    • @rachelskiiiiiii
      @rachelskiiiiiii  Před 5 měsíci

      Often times when I write the script for these videos, the part about stats is usually twice as long then any other part of the video because there’s often a lot to talk about with certain weapons, especially the more technical ones. With the H3, you’re right, but it does have a chance for its shots to deviate:
      “The outer reticle immediately expands after jumping. After 20 frames, the outer reticle will start shrinking, and will finish shrinking after 50 frames.
      When jumping, the chance to shoot towards the outer reticle instead of the inner reticle is immediately set to 40%.
      The angle its shots can deviate while in the air is 1 degrees.”
      So often times I try to find ways to compress this information into a sentence or two rather than read out stats about weapons. I also think for newer or less experienced players, the very small intricate details won’t change their mind or way they play games. I could spend 5 minutes talking about the differences between shots deviating and what 1° rng does but I just think people won’t watch lol
      So people who play this game a lot or have much more in-depth knowledge about weapons will of course see technicalities about what I say or have a different opinion but I think for CZcams and for helping people new or wanting general advice, I think it’s okay to maybe speak a bit more broadly. This is just me focusing on reach and what helps the majority of players who watch my vids cause AFAIK, most people who do are non competitive, newer and causal players who exclusively play freelance. Maybe if the videos gain steam in the future I will do more intricate and in-depth analysis of weapons and their potential.
      Thanks for commenting! I hope the stuff I say makes sense, it’s purely a content vs time vs audience decision I make every time I decide what’s worth mentioning. So unfortunately sometimes stuff is missed or tech isn’t explained as in-depth as possible.

    Great video. Still need to get better at these weapons. Tbh I never used motion controls at all and still get 999s thanks to tips from Chewoomy and you, although hard to do so, plus I am way more weirdier than you without motion controls. Everybody have their own styles of playing. Mostly people play motion controls.

  • @freshmaggot
    @freshmaggot Před měsícem

    I agree that the game is meant to be for fun and people should play how they want, but I’d argue that motion controls are objectively better. The fluidity of them once you get used to it is night and day, and this is coming from someone who has played over a thousand hours in other shooters using sticks.

    • @rachelskiiiiiii
      @rachelskiiiiiii  Před měsícem +2

      I agree with you. I think it’s hard for people who haven’t used motion to see this though, as it did take me a while to warm up to it, especially coming from other console shooters before. Quite frankly, I can’t ever see other console shooters the same way now we have motion for Splatoon.

    Great as usual!
    I feel like i have been missing something this rotation while playing the splattershot jr, it keeps feeling underwhelming and i assume i'm using it sub-optimally. Is there more than just painting alot and getting consistent-but-not-incredible damage on basically everything?

    • @McC0n0r
      @McC0n0r Před 5 měsíci +1

      I know the current rotation with the Jr is nearly over but the advice I've heard is that as a generalist weapon, you're playing to assist teammates. Clear lessers for ranged teammates, prioritize and assist with Flyfish, team up to shred high HP targets, dispatch troublesome Salmonid types. You can absolutely get things done on your own, but you can get them done faster with a friend. Try to roll in a pair and very little on your side of the map should be a threat!

    • @rachelskiiiiiii
      @rachelskiiiiiii  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yeah I agree with the above comment! I also think the rotation wasn’t a true showcase of what the Jr can do because the overall comp wasn’t powerful enough to help carry the Jr in the ways it needs to be carried. The comp had a lot of support weapons and Jr is the ultimate support weapon so it feels lost in the crowd. But I enjoy playing it, you can run around a map and bomb everything easily (splat bombs will be v important with the Jr).

      Hey thank you!
      I don’t have a public discord, no. I did for a while and I just couldn’t deal with it lol too many random people joining and sharing spoilers or NSFW stuff. Also I feel a bit weird as an adult having a platform that kids might be involved with and I’m very uncomfortable with the idea of running a server full of kids or whatever, feels like too much responsibility as well. Also just from a normal standpoint, I don’t have the time to control a public server and would stress about asking people to help etc.
      I appreciate this isn’t the best answer but usually the way I play with people is either when I’m streaming and do open lobbies or I can be reached via the SRS discord server. A lot of people in my chat are always down to play too!

    • @not_DJ_Ender
      @not_DJ_Ender Před 5 měsíci +3
