Pablo came up of this lyrics out of his life stories. He said in an interview yesterday La Luna is his diary turned into music (not exactly his words but something like that). He even got emotional remembering friends who he thought were his true friends but was not there when he needed them the most (as what he said in the lyrics "he doesn't need many friends that disappears in the midst of war). He added that the ones (friends) he had right now, even though few, he treasures them the most. This is a song about his inner struggle. Him holding back his emotions for him and the people around him to have a harmonious life.
The song is about battling your own/inner demons which is comparable to those fictional characters of man turning into wolves on a full moon. That when the moon comes out, you'll turn to someone you are not.
This is how Pablo describe his feelings during the time that he wrote this song and somehow turns as his outlet and diary like.

The song is about.. each of us have duality.
The first Pablo referring to our fear, depression, anxiety, dependent..and afraid to come out from his shell. The 2nd persona, wanting to come out from his shell.. doing things he want to do.. doesn't care what others say, more aggressive in a good way. This persona has been locked in ourselves and the only way to unlocked is only ourselves too.

He said that the release of “La Luna” is his way of confronting his personal battles.
“Its focus is mostly about myself, my feelings, my beliefs, how I view the world and how it affects me,” he said.
On the song’s message of self-love, Pablo said: “We all have flaws and we need to accept those imperfections because those are what make us who we are.”
“To be mentally healthy, we need to come to terms with ourselves, that what we feel is valid. We shouldn’t suppress it just so we can please everyone and avoid confrontation. There will always be black in white and white in black. We should maintain balance within us. That’s how we remain sane and alive,” he added.

To appreciate a song, you need to go beyond what you hear and see with the MV. Honestly, I am not into rap/hip hop and trap music but I can appreciate the meaning of the lyrics or in hip hop slang, you call it bars. Pablo is an amazing and excellent storyteller and lyricist. He has this talent of weaving his chosen words into intricate bars that could hardly be understood by some listeners. 💙
