Nice one Luis! The Harsh Reality has some big shoes to fill. Only time will tell if it holds up. If you can compare it to Magic Gem and Eternity Pi, those would be what I would want to see.

Amazing review as always! Quick question, when starting off on a new lane with a new ball where do you usually stand to check how the lane is - 15/25?
For me I’ll always stand at 20 and look between second and third arrow and try to get the ball down lane to 9-10-11 ish to start and see
Threw my new Harsh Reality while practicing yesterday, boy this thing hooks!!!! Comparing it to my Super Nova its MUCH more continuous and "dynamic". I'm a speed dom bowler, straighter up @ 7-10 at the arrows works best for me. Can't wait to use in in league tomrrow where we have a pretty good amount of oil. The S Nova is alil blah in the backend, even for a solid asymm, the Harsh is not. AI core hits are legit! New current lg arsenal- Harsh Reality, Marvel Maxx tour, Fate, Alert, iQ NP, spare ball.
So I should upgrade to this one from my reality? I think so. Thanks for another great video. Maybe compare to the super nova?

In your opinion could this be a replacement for a proton physix? I’d love to see it compare to the proton which some consider to be the strongest ball ever. Love the content by the way keep it coming.
Be careful with the cup, my rollers rusted a touch as the alley had little AC issue for a week, after that the rollers mark the ball up pretty ugly on rotation. Oiled and cleaned but it's no go. Keep it safe and they rock, little humidity and their toast. This ball looks freaking awesome for first out option. Ordering!

Hey Luis. I've been struggling trying to find an asymmetrical ball. Right now I only have a Phaze 2 and 5. What are some things you look for when making a decision? I'm usually bowling just league but probably some challenge pattern tournaments soon as I fill out the bag. 1 thing I know is some houses and conditions the P2 skids too much and doesn't catch in time.
If the p2 skids to much then definitely check out this Harsh Reality! It’ll pick up much sooner

i have the proton and its good ive had it for 4 years since it came out and its great when i start off fresh league shot i got down 10 to 15 board and it hooks good but when i start moving to the left it just wont come back and i mean its fine cause i got the nuke cell and the hyroad but it would be nice to get a new solid asym that if i gotta go left and shoot down 15 and have breakpoint about 5 it just wont come back, i mean its good but cant do much after going a bit left, i would like to get a ball that would still have energy down lane and can still have it to get back even thou its still the first game or 2nd, so ive really thought about the harsh or if im sticking with asym solids which ball would be an upgrade in ur opinion. Id like to stick with the storm roto grip and 900 line.
They should’ve never got rid of the proton. I want one so bad but I just got into the bowling too late.
My pro shop uses dual-angle numbers, so it is nice to have that is a reference.

In your opinion for 2024 what's the strongest hooking ball to date, board coverage wise. Ambush, crimson, harsh reality, BW 3.0, magic gem? Etc?
I would like to see the Harsh Reality compared to the Eternity Pi. Im looking for a big asym as my 1st out of bag and im torn between the 2.
Also, since i have learned it, i always use the VLS system for my layouts. For me, it just makes more sense. Not many people in my area use VLS but good news is i do my own layouts. I just draw the lines and take it to my PSO and they hit the marks so if something is wrong, i know its on me.
EDIT: Of course after posting this comment i just noticed you already compared the harsh reality and eternity pi. So ima go cry in the corner and watch that now lol.

Yea I mean I know the Harsh Reality will be a GREAT option! I’m not 100% on the widows as I’m not allowed to throw them but I know they are hella popular. Strength of cover will forsure go to the Harsh

The 3.0 made it into the bags right away yesterday, rolling the Low flare today and will find out if my TDX is going to be replaced.
This ball sets up real nice. Looks to be usable by higher speed players on house shot, and most everyone on sport.

I just re-watched this video to be clear. Was this the ball that replaced the proton and the supernova? It looks similar the original reality which is not a bad ball the problem I don’t like about it. It’s too clean. I don’t have one. It’s just I see the videos with the absolute and the absolute power. Clean is not a bad thing, but when it comes to asymmetrical and solid, you want something big and early and smooth down the reality and the absolutes I mentioned. Don’t do that.

In my opinion, the OG reality polished, is the greatest ball ever. So versatile and makes an already great ball even more usable. Would be awesome to see you do not only a reality comparison (which I think they will be pretty similar) but also a comparison with the two of them polished. Maybe in the same video?

I am a two handed bowler and looking to add either the Gem or the Harsh Reality to my bag. Does anyone have a recommendation? I have thrown the Gem before and liked it, but the pro shop manager recommended the Harsh Reality to me.
Funny you say that. I was actually looking to get the Magic Gem since I have the Exotic. But the guys at the pro shop recommended the HR as well

I have put about 15-20 games on it so far and love it. It is an extremely versatile ball, I’d just trust what the pro shop guys say and have it drilled to their recommendation. When it hits pins it drops them. I still think the gem sounds better and is more satisfying. But the A.I. Core from the harsh reality is incredible

I actually love the look of the ball. SPI isn't great at matching ball colors with the logo colors, but this one does it really well. For example, with the Gems, I would have the writing be white instead of neon green.

Watching this video for the 2nd time, I can't help but notice that your back swing seems to be restrained, or slowed down using your arm strength, and that your forward swing seems accelerated, again using your arm strength. This is exactly opposite of how I would suggest learning bowlers to throw, with such a controlled arm swing. I've always been told, and believed, that your arm swing should be natural and without any effort to slow down, or accelerate the swing, as this usually leads to pulling the ball off line, and is inconsistent for most people. I guess this does not apply to you, as you are very consistent with your arm swing and release, but I assume that it took you years of practice to perfect your technique. I'd love to hear your opinion about my observation, and if you agree that you are more controlling of your arm swing, or do you feel that it is unrestrained and natural with the speed of the back swing equal to the forward swing, and that you do not add speed to your forward swing, and I am just mistaken in my observation?
I know for myself, and many other bowlers I have watched, every time I notice that I, and other bowlers, have tried to throw the ball harder, or faster, using their arm strength, it almost always negatively effects the accuracy of the throw. For this reason, I am surprised and amazed at how accurate your throwing technique is, because it is rare to see someone throwing the way you do, who can do it consistently and as accurately as you do.
