Rhett started giving himself advantages after the fifth episode. Up until then, it was only 2-2. It seems like the advantages have actually hurt link. Rhett says "I have been decimating you at this game," so he gives himself advantages, even though the score was only 3-2.
The score as of today is 7-4. Not actually as skewed as Rhett makes it seem.

Melon cream soda is one of my favorite things in Japan, and probably what I’m gonna miss the most when I leave. Melon is such a huge flavor in Japan because fruit is really expensive here, and melons are the most expensive. Some Japanese melons can go for the equivalent of hundreds of American dollars.

Monkeynurse1 Why are they so expensive? Well for fruits in general it’s because Japan doesn’t have a great climate for growing fruits in most places, and because it’s an island it all has to be imported. Same reason gas prices in Japan and Hawaii are so high! As for Japanese melons, they’re grown using very tedious and specific methods, often only one melon to a plant. So their costs come mostly from the time and labor put into them.
You can probably get it even after you leave. I don't know about other places, but you can definitely get it at specialty stores and japanese retaurants in the US so I think you probably can elsewhere.
Gas prices in Japan or Hawaii may be high if you're from a country that has oil fields but they're still way lower than European gas prices.
Japan also has some of the best melons in the world... like Hitomi Tanaka's or Momoka Nishina's.
