  • Bob Weir comes back from the break with an energetic dancing John Mayer on Sugar Magnolia. This song transitions into Viola Lee Blues with a guitar switch by John from the PRS Super Eagle to the more fitting blue PRS guitar.
This show was the second night in Wisconsin, and the band's stay in Milwaukee continues the long history of magical nights by the Grateful Dead at this historic venue.
Recorded live in concert from the pit at Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, WI USA near Milwaukee on July 10, 2016.

I don't have a problem with the pace. Feels natural to me.

They just played this tonight 2 years later here at Alpine again this one I think it's still a little better.. I was there screaming as loud as I can right in front trying to make a difference giving them as much energy as I could Billy and John are really feeling it tonight even though John keeps getting better when you look back he still really great even when you look back years

Marshall Marshall right. I honestly dont believe a single word out of your mouth for calling this garbage. Youre either jealous or ignorant. Or both. Dont call me Bruh..

I'm neither jealous nor ignorant, the fact of the matter is that John Mayer was picked to play for "Dead and Company" to lurer John Mayer's fans into the Dead scene. All for one purpose, money. Listen to the transition at 4:36, it is nearly rehearsed to skin and bone. No communication in this band, bruh.

I miss the big slow acceleration in VLB until it's crazy, then suddenly whoosh! to the beginning tempo. Always makes me gasp!

they slowed alot of songs up but I liker it. Didn't initally. Jack Straw in particular but it peaks into a great finish. Hey, my old buddy, we're movin much too slow. SUMMER 2017. FENNARIO

These guys are 93 years old.....a slower pace is expected. Why would you want to rush through grateful dead music anyway?

What's with bob and John having their ear pieces out? I'm an audiologist and this disturbs me. You can't imagine how many musicians have terrible hearing.

You can be the best guitarist in the world but you can never copy Gerry . Not thinking Gerry was the best far from it, but no one had his style of playing. But i still enjoyed this
