Been a Deadhead for 30 years, so many roads, and absolutely THRILLED the music is still being played with new energy by new SPECTACULAR musicians. These guys are SO MUCH FUN!!!! Jerry said he was just a signpost pointing the way to great music. Keep it Truckin!
Man that was awesome !! It's a beautiful sunny day out and this time just made me want to grab my gal and get out and enjoy this wonderful day .. We Love Each Other !!
@@TheGunnCat I was talking about the first live version of TLEO (2/9/73 at Stanford University), which was at a faster pace and had an opening much like China Cat.
and.... you had a first shot too. Then you have maybe many more which turned you into a DIK. Enjoy the music and stop criticizing everything. "Strangers stopping strangers, just to shake their hand. Everybody's playing in the heart of gold band" Did you learn NOTHING?
you really need to go elsewhere for music....you just don t get this music 2 drummers make the sound, but won t try to explain it to you ...God bless you man!
I miss my old lady. What a great song to remind me of the fun times
So sorry man, and indeed a stellar version here. Peace to you 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Never in a all my years of deadheadedness, would I have expected John Mayer to fill in for Jerry, and to do a great job at that.
A lot of people don't really know about his guitar skills. What impresses me more is how he learned and become this music. Truly inspirational
Truly (~);-}
I've appreciated his skills for years, just never been a fan of his solo work. great performance!
Thought it was a joke for first fewmonths. Will be fun to watch him develop around GREAT artists and talent... bc he's good.
JC Edwards I see you in all kinds of comments, a true pillar of CZcams's deadhead community
John sings very soulful on this one. Love it

I love you
They played this last night at the sphere. Was incredible.
Wasn’t it?! I was vibing so hard at that same show
Love this tune mates❤
Lord, I can see that it is true. Thank you John for carrying on.
John mayer slaughtered that shit keep up the good work man
Have to agree wholeheartedly!
I was side stage, directly next to jeff, the entire place was literally shaking, at one point, good times
Cold rain and snow is awesome also
Breaths if freshest air

I love looking back at these first shows from 2015. Mayer is a baby, compared to his presence in the final tour in 2023. I will miss this band.
This was a free show. I won two tickets & went to my brother. Our 1st Dead show as Boston 70 or 71
Jeff is unreal on the keys man
its brents old hammond. hes gotta be channeling. they also share a birthday. jeff is amazing!
Need the '73 fast version of this song.
legunncat speed up the song to 1.25. Perfection.
Love the 73 version. Sounds like they went from China Cat right into Love and could have closed with Rider
@@motowizard4444 never thought of that man. I'll have to try it out.
@@garyrasberryjr.552 you mean this video? Been so long since I've watched.

Mayer is jusy floating around . As I am during this performance. So good to see masters in action!!
Yup
John Mayer & Oteil revitalize the band . Maybe they will write some new songs...
Mike Pizzle I hope not
We dont want new songs haha
No new songs
That would be cool AF !!!!
When they were just getting together 😊
Turn up Jeff!
⚡️🌹💃🏻💀🕺🌹⚡️
1.25 speed and it kinda slaps haha
Agree. Gimme a jazzy upbeat 73/74 over this anyday. Couldn't make it to the end of one of my favorite GD/JGB tuned. Painful
@@JerryGarciaPOBox play it at 1.5 speed and it sounds more like the 73/74 version
@@JerryGarciaPOBox im genuinely curious which aspect of this cover you dont like
@@brandonvalentine2555 i’ll be happy to answer that… obviously, too slow to be interesting and he doesn’t have an appealing singing voice
💙💀🌹⚡️♥️
It would be cool if they had a female join them once to sing like Donna did and maybe even cover From the Heart of Me which would be awesome
Some of us still haven't recovered from donna
I didn’t see it coming, Jeff Chimenti stole my face at 4:00
The student learns well
Very good playing. But I prefer it at 1.25x
Fuck yeah!
Thank you for this suggestion. Exactly what this performance needs!
Gonna go listen to the good version by Grateful Shred. This is a fucking snoozefest.
man they sound really tight.
looks like it's the whole crowds first dead show.

I don't they quite expected to get this when they bought the ticket. Just taking it in my man. You should try it sometime.
It's NOT a Dead show.
That John Mayer does good guitar work.
I don't see the point of two drummers.
you must be fun at parties
well played sir .
That's why you can only listen but you cant hear Dead&Co.

It's ok, not everyone likes licorice.
