I am 79 and played golf for many years till 2017 when, after a big spinal operation, am full time in a wheelchair, but I still enjoy watching especially The Open and Women's golf, but also other tournaments an my laptop.

Beautiful person, and I mean personality, and it does a lot for Martin, showing that he is down to earth and that golf is in safe hands, the image of him being aloof is quite wrong. May he have a long career in his position and also a great career for Iona in the future.

I moved to Sweden from the Uk and I joined my local golf club in Sweden, the men and women are very even in numbers, the junior golf is huge and they have family golf days. The juniors have 9 weeks off from school in the summer and hang out at the golf course for the whole 9 weeks, it’s such a great thing to see and be a part of. I play with a lady called Bergitta, she’s plays off 6, shes 72, club champion 22 times and has played golf for 62 years, i beat her for the first time last week (yes she is very competitive)!! Martin Slumbers described his vision of change as what’s happening in Sweden, I wish him the best in his job. Great films Iona 👍

Great video. Thanks Iona and Martin. My club pro coaches primary school girls and boys 5 days a week and the kids are so enthusiastic it makes me laugh watching them practice. Making the game affordable is another key objective. I play on a decent municipal 9 hole course for £7 a round. Let the kids play for free.

Loved this conversation and game but listening to Mr Slumbers talk about how he wasn't allowed to go into the club house as a young caddy upset me and reminds me of how golf clubs used to be and some still are to the plebs of society. I always remember of a golf course in Essex that used to only allow golfers with certain types of cars onto the main car park. The others were told to park behind the barn. Silly memories but it irks me still. Well, that's a polite wording of how I feel about certain parts of the game
My body is melting into a very happy place. Ahh...what a way to phrase it. Golf at it's best is exactly this. Good on ya!

I’m so happy I found this channel!! I live in America so we don’t get to see Iona on our television coverage. I’m hugely impressed with all of her content… all of her films are absolutely spectacular!! Her, and her team, do an incredible job telling fantastic stories, with outstanding quality and skill. I really enjoyed this- Martin comes across as a very good friend who enjoys golf. The on course portion was like being added to your group on the first tee. At the end I would have shook your hands, looked you each in the eye and thanked you both sincerely for a great day out.

Iona is one of those truly genuine media personalities, who always manages to make the stories about others, yet still personal. I won a Titleist golf bag from her several years ago, and have been a huge fan ever since!

Another fantastic video, beautifully edited. True passion for sport whilst at the same time being equally passionate about the importance of ED&I in sport… which unfortunately is still a rarity when it comes to women in sports. Huge well done Iona 👌👍🏼⛳️
Another great vid Iona and interesting to hear from Martin with some good stuff in there.
Couple of things left me a little concerned though.
Firstly I dunno if I missed the point, but the story about ignoring some problems? Not sure how that relates to his position now in a positive way?
Secondly Martin’s comment about needing to tell the story of the elite golfer better. Really? That’s literally all that’s in the media over and over again! How about telling the story better of those golfers trying to make it on the mini tours, or those the rung below them, or the club golfers striving for better?
As I say, a lot of good stuff in there, but left feeling slightly lukewarm on my understanding of a few things Martin has said there

This is the first time that I have listened to Iona & I absolutely loved it. The relaxed atmosphere & manner in which the interview was conducted was professional & very well balanced. Martin gave a wonderful hindsight to the R&A all of which was very refreshing. In respect of the view out of the office window, simply WOW!!

I think that one of the qualities that I admire most in (some) people who have achieved a great deal is their willingness to give credit to others and to express their thoughts lucidly and sincerely, which is a quality you both exemplify.
