- PGA Tour coach Short Game Chef is here to simplify your chipping!
Danny met with PGA Tour coach and winner on the PGA Tour, Parker McLachlin, to dial in his chipping. They work on 'vanilla' chipping and going high and soft out of greenside bunkers! Can't miss lessons in this one!

Boys---keep this stuff up. This is some straight golf nerd lesson stuff and I’m here for it.
Finally Foreplay has maximized Dan on their team in terms of content. Love these
Trent needs this more than a club fitting
The thing no one seems to understand is Trent couldn’t care less about golf he doesn’t even have any original takes when talking about it and that’s his actual job he just piggybacks of everything everyone else says and he does a bad job at that
Trent needs to take two weeks off then quit
@@petemohanco414Give punctuation a try some time.
@@JungleLarry can you not read without periods and commas does it trigger you maybe next time I’ll consider it when writing a useless comment I forgot about almost immediately stay strong
Trent is hopeless. Insane how bad he is for how much plays. Riggs too
It’s so clear watching these videos that Danny could be a PLAYER. He is clearly incredibly smart and has the body awareness to internalize, understand, and recreate what he is seeing VERY quickly in these lessons. Fun to see how quickly he takes to coaching and improves!
Pretty sure he’s a long time scratch/ plus golfer
These should be on the main channel, absolute incredible. This and the Mark Blackburn video are amazing content.
Awwwww 8:14 “I’d much rather have you” ❤🥰 words to live by if you want to improve your chipping !
Another incredible (now fully bookmarked) video. Thanks so much for doing this Dan. Having access to this kind of information is invaluable. A lot of concepts that made me think “of course!” And made sense to a long time golfer with a bit of mechanical context but also very easy to digest for anyone looking to improve! I appreciate Dan breaking things down and explaining the real feel.
Amazing content! I love these segments by Dan! They really do help teach us a lot! 👏👌👍
Excellent lesson Dan, thank you for the video
To everyone watching this video. This technique works. Plain and simple. Had a few buddies at the end of the year last year tell me to "STOP IT" because I was kicking their ass around the greens. Great work boys!
This is the content/lesson I needed most to start the golf season this year!! Love it!!
This is such a good video. This needs to be on the main channel.
This is one of the best short game videos I've ever seen.
Please keep these coming. This was less into specific tips but literally allowing us to learn the lesson with you. Great work Dan on the different content
These lesson videos have been gold
Learned so much. Please do more of these. So good. Can’t wait to hit the range.
This bunker lesson is worth a lot of money- thanks!
Thanks for this video guys! DRAP rocks!
Thanks DRap! Great video! SGC is awesome!
A friend of mine told me this about 5 years ago and my short game changed dramatically...chipping is the best part of my game and it is so easy to repeat this swing.
consider bringing up the video they are watching on the phones
Fun watching a bad ass player learn something new and get better. Can't wait to see it in action on the course. Good luck Dan.
Gotta go see Joe Mayo next for the exact opposite lesson hahaha
Awesome video, thanks!
That course looks amazing... the grass on the practice area is so lush.
Litterally a masterclass, thanks for sharing here guys !🏌️♂️🙏
On the long chip segment, your misses were due to your head going back away from target and you finish with an arch in your back. If you work to finish vertically over your left foot you’ll gain even more consistency.
I think this may have helped me, thanks guys
A great drill to reenforce this teaching is tucking a towel under both arm pits while you practice chipping. Will force your chest to turn more back and through and will force your arms to stay connected.
Should've made this a group lesson with Trent and Frankie. Definitely some good tips and drills in there.
Thank you Parker for sharing...turned off the Colonial to watch you guys...
This one was gold, brother.
I wish we had bunkers like that!
i've been on a huge SGC kick lately. perfect timing!
Great video
This is pure gold
This was sweet.
Steep for me. I tried the shallow for 10 years and steep has given me tremendous results as apposed to shallow utb method.
This was great.
Thanks.
Yes! I am certain this is going to help my short game. Thanks Dan!
Feel bad for taking this top.level advice for free
I liked this video a lot but I am a bit confused. I’ve heard good chippers like Padraig Harrington, Wesley Bryan, Dan Grieve’s and others say that when chipping, your backswing should be longer than your downswing. They advocate taking a nice backswing and letting gravity bring the club back down nice and easy. This almost seems like the opposite approach.
Really good stuff Dan!
This is brilliant
Great video!!
The telling point is that on the longer chips, with your old method (like mine)… you would be taking divots! 😮
Can you talk about bounce? What types of wedges. Lofts etc should you have in your bag and use for different shots
God dammit Dan, keep putting out this kind of content.
Crispy!
Great video as always Dan
Fabulous stuff thanks
Only just shy of 6 mins into this…and its good so far, so i apologize if im jumping the gun here. Why does every lesson on chipping seem to have perfect lies on a fairway perfectly manicured ? Even with my crappy technique i can more than occasionally get up and down in this ideal siTuation ..itd be great to see typical chipping situation technique, from rough or a not pristine fringe us regular hacks play from 😬✌️👍🏼
The Chef makes sense!
Why is everyone but Trent getting lessons?
cuz he’s not serious about getting better- can’t force him to if he’s not into it
He’s had a bunch of lessons….
Greattttt
Great video! I live in Scottsdale....can you send me over Parker's contact info so I can get a lesson from him! Thx!
Jim Harbaugh teaches chipping
Get Joe Mayo #spinloft
anyone else notice Dan Rapaport's mouth moves and voice sounds like glenny balls?
#TeamShallow
I had to find this video the 2 channels isn’t working for you guys.
I would agree it is a bit confusing with the two channels
Parker’s link in the description doesn’t work (I get a 404), so just in case -> youtube.com/@ShortGameChef
Good lesson but hold the camera still…it’s not a music video
yet another golf video on the podcast channel, I don't get why you created the second channel, its great content but you created this channel to split the podcasts from the golf videos
Team steep. They know yall are talking about Joe Mayo. He’s a savant. I do believe there are multiple ways to skin a cat. But you’re leaving information and context out of Mayo’s theories which is unfair
Any good player, give them a 7 iron and tell them to hit out of a divot in the fairway. What are they going to do? Put ball back in stance and hit down on it and try to get the leading edge down so they don’t blade or top it. I live in Texas and the ground is firm and not always a lot of grass. Rarely have a lie on tight grass where the ball is not sitting down a little. If you’re shallow, you are playing a very dangerous game trying to keep the leading edge below the equator of the ball and have predictable results. I hit down hard on every thing, more spin loft, and you’re not gonna top anything. And it’s not hard to find the sweet spot. I’m a 5-6 hcp and I only chunk a chip shot once every 2-3 rounds if that. It’s just not that hard. Look into the guys info. He’s very intelligent
Would love to see Dan wear a normal white glove just once
Danny Bad Clothes with a nice set of individual items…that don’t belong together. One day he’ll get it right.
Wrong channel
Shallow chipping is dumb af. Jordan Spieth has a cut action on his chips. Good luck shanking all of your chips going shallow like that.
When you wanna watch someone as unlikable as Riggs but wanna see a nicer swing Dan Rapp is your man
First episode Fore Play doesnt yell and scream like a high school cheer team. It was watchable.
