    The reason for cleaning prior to blasting is so that you don’t drive contamination into your part. Same thing with automotive finishing. You can end up with a real nightmare by not cleaning first. 👍🏻

      It’s tedious as hell, just like powder coating. Helpful though thanks. Next steps finding a 92fs slide.

    Can i use a small air compressor made for trucks etc.?

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před 4 měsíci +1

      On parts this small, a small compressor (within reason) would probably work. As long as theres no moisture accumulating in it.

    Solid vid great info. What do you to about the part where the hanger is hitting the piece you're spraying? Does it leave gaps?

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před rokem

      Yes, it can leave "tan lines" if your not careful. So I always hang the parts in an area that wont be affected. I mainly use a coat hanger because im ghetto. So i bend and affix the hanger in a way that its loose and the hanger isnt close to the sides of the part, if that makes sense. I know thats not a good explaination lol.

    Just ordered a pro kit to spray my supercharger and brackets for my motorcycle (Suzuki Hayabusa)!!
    Quick question, at what psi do you blast the parts w garnet sand at on the receivers?

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před rokem +1

      Good deal man. As far as blast pressure. Im really not sure. I usually just spray it at whatever the wall regulator is set at, so usually around 125 probably. It may vary some depending on the type of blaster you have. Its not going to matter to much really.

      @@ballsoutperformance I saw in another video to use 100 grit Garnet Sand and blast at 30-35 psi so I was curious.

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před rokem +1

      Its worth a try but that sounds like really low pressure for blasting. Just try it and see what works. See how its affecting the surface of the material and adjust from there

    Do you have a specific oven for this or is the kitchen oven on to use? I've heard it will ruin one if you use it fit for cooking food

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před rokem +1

      A dedicated oven is ideal. You can do it in the home oven but itll stink up the house and itll smoke a little. Not sure if there is any lasting contamination to worry about.

    Do you need to heat the product before painting or let is cool after gassing ?

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před 2 lety +1

      You dont need to heat it before spraying. And i let it cool back to ambient temp after gas out. The product cures with heat. So with that being said I wouldnt want to spray onto a hot surface, because the product may start to cure before youre done spraying.

    what compressor do you have for the sand blasting?

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před 2 lety +1

      Ive got a 60 gal 5 horse 2 stage us general. They no longer sell it though. I use it for doing all over paint jobs on cars and run air sanders. But for just doing small parts like this, a 30 gal would prob be plenty.

    • @ballsoutperformance
      @ballsoutperformance  Před rokem +1

      Assuming the part was clean, it sounds like improper application. What caused that could be a variety of things (malfunctioning paint gun, improperly adjusted paint gun, improper air pressure, bad gun technique, improper spraying distance, etc). Sounds like the product wasnt applied "wet" enough.
