95% Success rate with surgical procedure, and he will be cancer free with that removal of the adrenal gland! So glad you have opted for the surgery! Gatsby is happy and very strong. Even the nasal mass is retreating. He will do just fine! You will have some good times ahead! God is Good!

my corgi has been going through a lot of medical hardships, multiple major surgeries, and an auto immune and liver disease. they shaved her whole belly and shes a half naked corgi. its the worst feeling. but shes doing well and im so grateful that shes happy and still lovin life. corgis are robust and so are corgi parents! im so so happy for you and Gatsby that hes pushing through this! hes so lucky to have such a wonderful life with you

six years ago, you two were a very big impact in my college days! I swear if it wasn't for you and Gatsby, I wouldn't have pushed through that first year. I was so close to giving up but you guys inspired me to keep going and grow along with you. Its been awhile after coming back, I watched the first health update to now. I am beyond happy that everything is in your favor. You genuinely deserve all the good things fate has to offer.
My dog had cancer and was getting treatment last year. In the middle of the night last June, he woke me up vomiting blood. He died in my arms that night.
I pray Gatsby has a safe journey and seeing this gives me comfort knowing Gatsby is in good hands.

This vlog update had me going through all the emotions. At first I was saddened when Ryen mentioned that Gatsby had about 7 more months to live and questioned if the adrenal cancer was worth treating; then I had the BIGGEST relief when Ryen said that the nasal cancer radiation treatment shrunk the tumour 90-95% and that Gatsby will have more than a year to live. With how relieved I was, I can’t imagine how much MORE Ryen was to receive such great news! With everything Ryen and Gatsby have been through together, I believe Ryen has made and will continue to make the best choices for Gatsby to give him the best fighting chances that he deserves, it’s also amazing that Ryen and Gatsby have the best possible resources to help them through this process as well! The fan mail at the end of the vlog was the perfect way to end it! To see all the love and support from everyone sending in fan mail really goes to show how much we all appreciate Ryen and Gatsby and all the joy that they’ve brought to us for us to return back to them! Continuing to send you two my thoughts and prayers! Keep on sending your thoughts and prayers too everyone! It’s working! We all wish you two the very best Ryen! See you guys in the next vlog! ❤️

I am only half way thru the video, at the part where Gatsby's nasal tumor has shrunk 90%. I had to stop the video, I burst into tears. I feel such a huge relief. Soooo happy! I cannot even imagine if I feel this way, how YOU must feel!!!!! Such great news to hear Gatsby may b given even longer than 1 year! I just luv u guys so much and want the best for u both so badly. Many thoughts to you Ryen and Gatsby! I have two corgis myself and my 11 month old recently had a laparoscopic liver biopsy done as he has some elevated liver enzymes and we don’t know why. He has recovered well from the laparoscopic procedure so I know that Gatsby will too! 🥰

THANK YOU, Ryen, for such a lengthy and well-explained update. His nasal cancer - WOO HOO! Of course it's not ALL gone, but so much of it is, that the nasal cancer, while it still exists, is something to be monitored vs. active treatment. With regards to his Adrenal glands, I agree with you - it is the option that has the most upside. Yes, it is risky. BUT you also will have the NUMERO UNO surgeon in the world, so it IS a risk worth taking. To be honest, even if the surgeon is only able to remove the left Adrenal gland, that is still excellent. The right could be monitored and treated with radiation therapy. But the surgeon's goal is to remove both, and I believe he will be successful. So as you say, overall pretty good news. All our good thoughts and prayers MUST BE HELPING. You KNOW, of course, how we ALL LOVE Gatsby and you and want nothing but the best! Take comfort in that - we ALL SUPPORT you and Gatsby in this journey. And we will CONTINUE TO DO SO!

Ryen, for a non-medical individual you do an awesome job at explaining it all!! Kudos to you!!! I totally get the day of the CT scans! The stress is enough to keel over from!!! Not only was I an RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician). But i had a pack of six dogs - now down to three. Losing a soul mate is one of the hardest things to go through! I understand your relationship with Gatsby and the threat of that loss prematurely is really challenging to endure!! My prayers & thoughts are always with you & Sweet Gatsby! II know you'll keep us posted. (Btw surgery sounds solid!!).
I'm a vet tech also, as a tech I think it's even harder when we have to say goodbye to our own pets. We have it in us to want to fix everything for them, and when we can't...ugh..horrible feeling!

I wouldn’t worry too much about the life expectancy they give you just because my dog had a life expectancy of nine years but made it all the way to 14. I hope they Gatsby is feeling a lot better in the coming months and I also hope that everything goes well and that he doesn’t get sick again. I wish you the best.

My dog had a brand new, very rare surgery at UC Davis, and they did an AMAZING job and it was a huge success (she's their case of the month on the website right now)!
