    I remember using a feeler gauge on my ford cortina mk4 To check and reset the points every wk end , it was my 2nd car and I thought it was amazing back then 😂😂 memories eh , great vid guys 😁👍

    Little helpful info, if you move the brackets on the hinges the bonnet opens vertically

      Its hard to say, were just inspecting the engine as it is now so unsure if anything has happened inbetween

      It's almost impossible to fuck up the timing belt on these engines. It tightens itself, could be that the spring was worn out and didn't tighten it enough tho, but that seems unlikely to me.

      @@mspriensma there was a guide missing for the timing belt, nowhere to be seen, so we think that may be the cause

      @@RustyAutos I believe there should be a guide at both sides of the crankshaft toothwheel that aligns it properly. Sometimes there's also a spacer between the camshaft and camshaft toothwheel to help with allignment.
