    I ordered a Hd10 more or less impulsively after watching this. This is what I have been waiting for, as I have really enjoyed my Ts10 v1, but have longed for a magnetetic tail cap and usb-c recharging. Got mine today, and no problems with the aux emitters. Got a black two way pocket clip for the Ts10 (a better clip which is available on the wurkkos website), and it fits perfectly on the Hd10. Thanks for the review.

    Great review! I can't see myself buying an HD10 unless I am gifting it to someone. I like my TS10, really like my Emisar D2 and absolutely love my D3AA. I think the the 14500 is just too small to be usable as a real work light. Neat light but it can't replace anything else I currently use.

  • @Djinsoul
    @Djinsoul Před 2 měsíci +1

    I got the ts10 with battery for 17 bucks on sale and the D3aa is double the price or even more with additions. This seems way better in budget range. It’s become my go to already.

    Ordered mine today, was thinking it woule basically be a 90⁰ version of the TS10 with 519A's. Glad to hear there are other improvements as well.
    Heard there may also be a 18650 version of the TS10, but we already have the TS25 which is already a 21700 version of it. Im not sure if the slighty smaller form will make it worth getting over the TS25 unless it also gets a boost driver.

    Neat, I hadn't heard anything about the HD10 in a long time. It sounds interesting... but I'm pretty bummed about the lack of flashing pads. I hope they'll fix that ASAP.

    The TS10 I have has deep firm clicks, its amazing, in comparison to the KR4 from hank lights, that rear switch is average, crunchy and grindy to activate, maybe overtime it will improve.

    • @LuxWad
      @LuxWad  Před 2 měsíci +1

      There might be variability in the tailswitches. I don't particularly like the KR4 switch either, it's given me a lot of issues with false inputs and missed clicks.

      Issues with the first batch of any new product are fairly common. Generally a lot fewer issues than the pre-production units like the pre-release HD10's some folks tested, but in order to test sufficiently to get around that would take (literally) years.

    You fail to mention the ambient temp and thermal limit for the runtime testing. At the default 45°C limit and 18°C ambient my HD10 is sitting at 117 lumens.

    • @LuxWad
      @LuxWad  Před 2 měsíci +1

      That's a given for any Anduril light, I always test at default settings and room temp (21C) unless otherwise noted.

  • @digginggopher

    Whats the battery life like on the hd10? Anyways i think i prefer the hd15/hd20 because you can switch between flood and throw, my sofrin hs41 kinda looks like the hd10 with the cluster of led, and its great for say walking a forest path, but for up close work its just too throwy

    • @LuxWad
      @LuxWad  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Battery life is good, as shown in the runtime graphs at 02:17
      I do like the HD15 as well, but the smaller size of the HD10 is really nice for a headlamp in my opinion as it weighs less and is easier to pack. Personally I like floody and low-output light when I use a headlamp.

      @@LuxWad can you compare hd10 to other flashlights like acebeam h16, sofirn hs10 and similar ones? I have sofirn sc18 for mode spot light with decent beam, I have wurkkos hd15 4000k for around home things and walks, but looking for something bit smaller and lighter for my Edc also in form factor as hd15 90* head, magnetic tail cap, flood with decent amount of like minimum 400-500lm, warm 4000k and battery life for atleast those 2h with 300-400lm and I think AA flashlights may be sweet spot as I can also buy them anywhere and I can keep like 1 or 2 in backpack as a backup, can you use hd10 while charging?

    The channel behaviour has been completely overhauled in the newest releases of Anduril. What you're seeing aren't bugs.

    • @LuxWad
      @LuxWad  Před 2 měsíci +3

      Channel switching behaviour should be absent from single-channel lights like this

    • @kevin42
      @kevin42 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@LuxWad The channel switching functionality has been unified under the of logic of every possible output being regarded as a channel, thus greatly reducing configuration complexity and allowing for an arbitrary number of leds without dedicated lines of code behind them, such as with button and aux leds on Hank lights, which are now simply treated as two additional channels.
      Upon setup, you now simply count up every single source of light (e.g the number of controller pins which when turned on result in some LED - "aux" or otherwise - illuminating), than you enable every single channel and map the corresponding leds. After that, you can than customize the config to your hearts desire by disabling the unnecessary channels and changing other settings related to them.
      In this case, the "bugs" you're experiencing are due to a missconfiguration of Anduril by the manufacturer.

      @@kevin42 This light ships with a 2022 Anduril Beta version, and is configured for 2 channels where one channel has all 3 emitters and the other has nothing. No idea what went wrong there. Flashing the latest 2024 stable FW for the TS10v2 RGB fixes all issues.

    I got the Emisar DW4 and while the capability is great, I find the Anduril software to be quite buggy and unstable. Which is an admittedly funny thing for a flashlight to have.

    • @Elektrobastler
      @Elektrobastler Před 2 měsíci

      Hm that is weird, a well configured Anduril should usually be bug-free and just works unless you make a mess by applying weird click patterns :D
      What version does your light have installed? Wurkkos shipped the HD10 testers with broken and misconfigured firmwares, for example.
