I tested the TaylorMade, Titleist, Cobra, Callaway, and the Ping. My best results were with the Ping by a lot, but results are different for everyone.
Interesting seeing them all laid out like this. I’ve tested most of these myself and gamed the ZX all year and liked it so much I actually got a back up. I love that the ball speed is low and it doesn’t have the jumpy one in it. It plays just like a helpful 4 iron but doesn’t ever surprise me with a ball I don’t expect to see.
Really like you guys using the 5Hs for this test. I ajusted the top of my bag to Driver (10.5), 5 wood, and 5 Hybrid (Taylormade M4) this year. I only hit the driver (250-275 yard carry) if I'm really feeling it and there's not alot of trouble. The 5 wood is my go to fairway finder with 235-250 yard carry. The 5 hybrid has replaced my 4-5 irons completely, and I may choke down on it if I'm not feeling my 6 iron for a 185-200 yard shot. I know theres a lot of gapping issues with this at the top end, but for someone that consistanly shot in the 90s, this and more short game practice really helped me shoot in the 80s this year.
Right in your same position. Except I actually hit worse. Maybe 220 yard carry at my best with the 10.5 driver. Hardly ever hit my 3 or 5 wood and instantly go to my 185 carry 3 hybrid. Then lost another 30 yards to 5 iron. Just bought the Stealth 6 hybrid to get the gap better (love it btw) and I'm getting a 5 soon, hopefully Stealth. Hopefully it'll help bridge my gap even better. Cause right now, I hit the 6 Stealth at worst 150 and at best 164. A 5 will probably be in the range of 170-175 I hope. And then I hope I can go to high hybrids and high distance with good forgiveness, say the Rogue and the LTDx. I'm hoping that'll fix my long game so I ain't hitting too many like I have been.
@@jacobwilkie241 I may have to look at the stealths in the future. The M4s seem to have some heavier draw bias that can get me into trouble at times. My bad misses tend to be hooks. I have no issue at all with the top end being heavy on hybrids and fairwaywoods. If it gives us a bit more distance and forgiveness, why not? I'm not a professonal trying to get low ball flights into the wind. I'm just trying to stay in play, until I can get to my scoring clubs.
@@IanCriticalCare I can tell you right now that the price is well worth it. The 6 hybrid that I have is a 28 degree and my previous 5 iron I think is somewhere around that too. I hated my 5. I've only hit a few good shots with it. My tend is to always try to compensate too much and I open the face, drawing it 30 yards off the fairway. Even in the middle of the fairway after a good drive. On the range with my 28 degree 6 hybrid stealth, I didn't do that. I hit a few good shots out of the middle, granted a little low on the face but I was still getting 140 carry easy. And on toe shots, my main miss, it wasn't missing by how much my 5 was missing. Granted, it still drew to the right cause let's face it, no club, no matter how forgiving it is, will ever go directly straight with a toe shot, but I was still getting decent distance and it wasn't OB bound every single time.
I also love it not just for forgiveness but it's height, drop and rollout. When you hit it well, it'll fly high like a rocket and drop out of the sky like a beauty. It wasn't a huge rollout either which, for me, is a blessing because I'll be able to hold the green easier if I hit it from a 130-150 distance and I want that personally from a 6 hybrid and a 5 which is why I want a 5 stealth as well. So when I get into the range of a longer iron where I'd usually miss the green long because of rollout, I'll be able to hold the green much better with the Stealth.
My son has a 4H Cobra Speedzone hybrid and i just bought a 3H Speedzone hybrid. Definitely more backspin with the Speedzone since they only have one rear weight (12 grams). Starting with RadSpeed they starting putting weight towards the face (Radial Weighting which lowered the spin)... now with LtdX looks like they chopped down the rails and to gain distance they lowered the spin even more with their PWRCOR. I'd rather stick with the Speedzone, hit the center of the face and get the proper backspin to hold a green from the rough.
agree, that's why the touredge hybrid, ping & tsi stood out for me. not keen when a hybrid is designed for low spin. I did notice the strange weighting on the radspeed too. nice to know the speedzone has good spin.
Yeah, I’d say you’re right. I have the LTDx 3H and it definitely is a club I almost exclusively use on the tee (short par 4s, fairway finder, etc)
@@danielbizek7581 just used it on trackman indoors at my custom fit. Awesome club. Super consistent. 4,500 rpm. Consistency (delta) of only 75 rpm over 3 shots. Average carry at 192 yards

I can’t speak highly enough of the Wilson launchpad 5 hybrid. My new favourite club. Launches high, fantastic spin and completely dials out my fade which becomes more of a slice the longer the iron hit.
This club helped me break 100 for the first time this summer. I can hit a huge predictable draw from any lie. Fantastic club.
Would like have seen mizuno as part of this test.

Has it been confirmed the new Titleist Hybrid is TSR? A few people close to them said it wasn't going that way
Nice inclusion of the E722. Very impressive results. Would love some review on the looks as some brands have a wood look (taylormade) vs more iron look (callaway). I cant hit a taylormade hybrid for the life of me.
My problem with my old hybrid is lining them up to target as they have significant bulge and roll. What are easier to line up?
I have the stealth plus models 4 and 3 hybrids with the adjustable high and low on them they work really well high launch and stopping power on approach shots

Forever, I have never really thought how the club "looked" at the address really had any effect on how I played golf or if it had any impact on my playing any club.....I guess that is just me of course.....but really, how long do you really look at the club head when in the address position?..

My 20+ year old Adams hybrid works just as well as any new club here

i had the older Callaway Rogue 5 hybrid but i struggled with it, got the tsi2 5 hybrid because it was adjustable the difference was huge the Tsi2 went a lot further and straighter BUT the paint finish on the TSI2 is rubbish as i skied a tee shot and the paint finish was scored deeply compared a Cobra Tec 4 hybrid which has a hard durable finish.

How is the new rogue different from the old model rogue?
did any of these have draw bais? Most neutral? almost bought clev halo hybrids (wish you hit) but guy at shop said they were "draw bias" and my misses are hooks so i went to ping (twice as much) for adjustments (F settings), was he correct cause i liked the looks of the halos and heard great things?

That callaway 5 hybrid is disappointing. I have the 4 hybrid and it is great (and the 5 honestly hits the ball well) but the amount the 5 sits closed at address is insane. It's almost impossible to not hit left even though the 3 and 4 are relatively neutral.
The more I learn about Ping, the better they look.

Only 4 shots for ping. Take out the 5th and worse one of all the others and Ping isnt top 3 tightest anymore
Should have put the Mizuno in it's probably the best out of all of them.
Not from all testing that's been done everywhere. It barely cracks the middle of the pack
@@bigbluemsp Who are the hackers doing the testing? We did the testing on a $40,000 trackman set up with a PGA teaching pro from Monterey Peninsula.
Mizuno has won every single iron and wedge test I’ve watched.
