  • 99% of golfers will REGRET NOT TRYING these IRONS!? 99% of golfers SHOULD TRY these FORGIVING IRONS!? When buying new golf clubs golfers often go for the big brand names. New Titleist Irons, New Taylormade Irons, New Callaway irons, New Ping irons… but that doesn’t always mean they are the best irons. The best irons of 2022 May well be big name brands, but what about the best forgiving irons of 2022? In this video I test the new Tour Edge golf clubs for 2022, and u honestly think they could be some do the best longest irons of the year. Let’s do it… and let’s do it now!

Just bought a set, got fitted and they blew me away. 73 years old and during fitting hit one of the 7 irons 160 meters, average was closer to 145. Thought it was a missread then hit another 158 insane, they feel fantastic, it’s going to take some time to wipe the smile of my face. Great review

Tour Edge has always made good-quality, reasonably priced clubs. I still have the Ironwoods I bought back in the late 1990s, first hybrids I ever owned.

I've been a Tour Exotics believer well over 10yrs - mainly fairway woods. Bought the C721 irons and have never been more disappointed - 15-20 yards shorter. 4 rounds - in the closet they went. Convinced now it was 100% user error. James is going to make me give em another try.

Comes down to marketing I believe. I’ve never heard of the brand, nor do I have the budget for brand new clubs, but I’d welcome a set in my bag. Currently got a set of AP2 718(or 716?) for about $300. A little inconsistent on the account of my poor hitting, as I’m new to golf (2-3 months of play, 24hcp). Hoping I can get on the course asap and get my ball strikes dialed in.

    • @swish1onu
      @swish1onu Před 2 lety +1

The clubs are a little pricey... i lean towards the used club market where amazing clubs are selling for under $400... AP2's are great... the new t200's would be something i'd consider as a get a little older.. so 4-6 years from now they probably will be available used for maybe the 450-$500 range..

  • @rickcudmore8156

I would have thought 99% of golfers would be trying the E722 irons as they are more forgiving and are geared for the higher handicap. I haven't seen these clubs in the stores only on line so maybe it comes down to marketing and do fitters have them in stock to test.

That par 3 eight iron was typical as to why I go the irons I got James.
I used to have no problems getting the ball moving but stopping it was a different matter. Taylormade PM7MC's fitted with Project X LZ shafts and Bridgestone BXS ball (the one with a bit more spin) is what I prefer.

appreciate these are your numbers James but 47 yds between 7 and PW would worry me about gapping in the “scoring irons”. Also 13 yds of run on the 7i with a standard deviation of 8yds would give me no confidence when trying to hit a par 3. Imo these are for golfers who want to impress their pals with how far they can hit a 7i compared to traditional sets and who don’t understand the loft differences just see the number on the bottom of the club. I do agree however, that they are easier to hit and will benefit some golfers out there who struggle with iron play.

It’s similar tech and nobody ever asks about my clubs as I hit lasers everywhere.
The first time I hit those clubs, I just fell in love.
Such excellent face feedback without as much punishment.
I did not buy them to be longer per se, but more accurate.
Less spin for high handicappers really means less side spin.
They don’t hit down on the ball properly, so it doesn’t generate the spin on traditional irons with high face sweet spots.

How would you (beyond simply looks) compare them to your recently fitting and received 223 irons?

These c722's may be the best iron I've ever. They remind me of the old school muscle back irons from back in the day.

Most Golf Stores in Canada don't seem to carry them. Perhaps the profit margins from the Known Brands is large hence don't want you to have the less expensive clubs.

You are right about the stores in Canada not carrying them, and I don't understand why. I use a 5 year old driver, 3 wood and hybrid and love them. Think it comes down to marketing and the fact them don't cost as much as TM, Callaway.

.....stated the obvious. The TE's have been great. So James, you are exactly right, most golfers would benefit from TE's. Well said.

Aren't tour edge something to do with American golf in the uk? Not sure specifically but I think benross did something similar a few years back where they only sell their clubs through AG.

Hi James Very interesting irons. I was wondering if you have tried any of the woods. I'm in the market for a 3 wood and/or a 5 wood and the price on their website looks pretty inviting.

It’s the obvious take for most hadicapp players but nothing hits like smaller cavity back blades and the ball on most courses stops on a dime because of the spin you can put on them. But small percentage of players can hit blades so

Anyone over 35 who plays a couple times a month should be playing irons like these. Great vid
