Thanks to Frankie when I was a young boy I had a holiday with the National Association of Boys Clubs. I would never have had a real holiday if it had not been for this man. thank you đ
Frankie was so loyal to his wife, family and fans. He did so many good things. Taken too early. RIP

Hello Yorkshire glass. What a lovely memory. Nights like that are special. Regards Alan
When living in Wycombe I spotted Frankie & Stella shopping in the food store.
Another time, I saw Frankie sitting on the wall outside the doctors surgery in the town. He smiled as I passed him.
A lovely man
What a lovely man and his dear wife and family. Thank you Alan for all the information on a man whose life was well lived. Great voice and style. Handsome fellow . Peace and love to all the dear departed.
Moomin sorry i did not ee this for a while Thank you
His daughter Susan was a border at a school I use to go to,we use to see him regularly when heâd come and visit or pick his daughter up
Really nice man he was â€
The late, great Frankie Vaughan was handsome, suave, well dressed multi talentedâŠ.dancer, singer, story teller and comedian whoâs smile could light up a room. He was a faithful, devoted family man and charitable and encouraging always. Proud of his Jewish heritage as his gravestone shows and a faithful supporter of Israel, the Jewish State. Shalom and RIP Frankie.
Loved Frankie Vaughan, saw him at the Batley Variety Club in Yorkshire many years ago, he was fabulous. He was definitely faithful to Stella. We went back stage to meet him, what a lovely guy he was.
Hello YorkshireGirl. What a lovely memory. Nights like that are special. Regards Alan
My late mother who sadly passed away only recently absolutely adored Frankie Vaughan, she swooned over him when he was on telly singing. Her favourite song was " Give me the moonlight," it used to amaze me as a young kid that dad didn't actually mind my mom adoring this man.. haha đ
Happy memories đ
Subscribed... Thankyou.
I saw Frankie in Birmingham way back when I was 15 ,it was the only time I had screamed at a performer,he was fantastic,Iâve never forgotten it,RIP Frankie.
Aah, dear Frankie Vaughn. Great British entertainer. The kindest man to walk earth. Bang it out Frankie. God bless ya
My husband and myself met Frankie Vaughan in Birmingham, we went backstage with his photographer and had our pic taken in his dressing room, such a nice man xx
Thanks for bringing Frankie back into prominence. I feel he was very underestimated, and since he died, there has been so little said about him and his career. X
His charity work amongst boys clubs and retired show business people was legendary. 1961 I was living as a young teenager In Blackpool when he was appearing at local theatre for the summer. My father couldn't attend so I went to see him with my mother and a young woman work colleague of hers. I was more into pop singers but his performance was well and truly for the ladies. We were in a private box and from where I sat I could almost touch him. A wonderful man who's death was quite tragic
Hello Barry, I totally get the picture. He was very much a sex symbol to the women but he kept it on the stage. Never off to stage. It was a nice guy who lived a very happy life from what I can see with great friends. All the best, Alan
.
đFrankie Vaughan was the first person I saw in concert. A close family-friend took me to see him perform in Southport. I was only very young but as I recall, I thoroughly enjoyed the songs and the whole spectacle of the performance. đ
I was fortunate to be taken by my mum to see him perform when I was a young girl. We met him at the stage door, he shook hands with my mum and kissed her cheek (swoon swoon) and signed this small autograph book which I had. He had the most wonderful smile and eyes. I remember thinking - oh when I am old enough I want to marry someone just like him. What a stunning looking man he was and a perfect gentleman. đđđđ
Hello Mary, what a great story! I think your mum might have enjoyed it more than you but that's really sweet. Honestly a great memory. Thank you for the comment. I really appreciate it. Take care, Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep my mum was a big fan, she loved him singing Green Door, especially the leg kick at the end lol .Not too sure of where we saw him to be honest, but think it was either St Georges Hall or the Alhambra theatre in Bradford. She was smiling all the way home on the last bus .. lol
I loved Frankie Vaughan....Such a lovely man. Everything about him was beautiful and a complete gentleman. Made me emotional seeing the clip of him.
My mother and myself both met Frankie and his wife at two placers the first was at Prescott post office it was a charity do. And the other we met them both again at ken dal's store having a coffee. I have got to say that they where lovely with us both. Rest in peace. And god blessxxx
I had forgotten what a beautiful voice Frankie had.
I enjoyed watching him and listening to him singing on tv when I was younger, but Iâm quite moved to hear of what he did with those four gangs in Glasgow-surprised they would listen to ANYONE intruding their world, but then I read the comments made by other viewers of this tribute video, and have tears reading how he changed the lives of some youngsters..giving them a chance, something to do, go to, and relieve boredom, which I believe is the problem with a lot of ,sadly, todays knife wielding youngsters. If Frankie were still here Iâm sure he would have done his best to help there too, but to read of grown men now, who still feel gratitude after all these years warms my heart.
Thankyou Frankie, and your lovely wife Stella who sounds to have been your staunch supporter and love of your life. rIp đđđââïžđŠđđ
I grew up in a suburb of Liverpool and attended a boys club that was opened by Frankie.
His association with the club was always respected by the youngsters that passed through the club.
Thank you Alan for this wonderful tribute to the legendary Frankie Vaughan. They dont make stars like they used to. RIP Frankie and Stella đŠđŠđŠđŠ
Wasn't he an absolute gentleman? Such a lovely guy in real life
My Mum was a great fan of Frankie Vaughan and when she was on the board of governors at Bayswater School Headington Oxford he made an appearance for some occasion which I cannot remember for what, but it was a wonderful memory for her and she got to meet her idol
Met him on the east lancs road when an old ford consul run in the back of his beautiful Rolls Royce, he got out and all he was concerned about was that every one was ok ,what a cool guy
Hello Lee, what a fantastic story! If you're going to meet somebody when it could possibly go wrong and accident is a good spot but he was typically a decent guy even under these circumstances, thanks for the story. Really interesting. Bye Alan
What a lovely gentleman, he gave a lot of money and time to the Boys club in this country. God bless him and his dear wife R.I.P.
I am Maryâs husband Tim, I played football for the Rankin boys football club in sheil road Anfield liverpool for three years thanks to Peter tanner whoâs father did so much for the club and made the club so successful, I never met frankie but the effort he and peters father put into the organisation then , made us the men we are today.thank you both .Tim Weston.
I met Frankie Vaughn, when I was in primary school, he was visiting the boys club near us, he was very approachable, we all spoke to him, he was very nice x
Another absolutely brilliant video. So well presented and everything so well researched down to the smallest detail. Being born in 1963 , I was a child watching him on telly. He was top of his game during that time and appeared many times on various showtime programmes. He was always immaculately dressed and nothing out of place. He was such a good looking man and had a really nice way with him. He was so cool and layed back when he was performing and he certainly could sing a good tune. I really enjoyed watching this.
Hi, Aiden you have recharged my batteries thank you ever so much for the comments. There are plenty more videos coming up soon. I really enjoyed researching him and then pleased you enjoyed the little film. You were very kind with your extensive comments. He was one of the old-time stars when they were stars. Best regards, Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep When we were children, my younger sister loved Frankie. Our parents bought all of his records. Thank you for telling Frankie's story. I enjoy watching and listening to you. You have a brilliant sense of humour and come over as a very nice person. It amazed me how you managed to find the grave amongst so many. When the planes went over l thought you had them out spotting for the graves! (,only joking!).
Mr FrankieVaughan did a film. With marilyn Monroe lets maje love he sang to her
How wonderful to light up a room with your smile. Even now if I see a top hat and walking cane I think of Frank and Give Me The Moonlight and I was only a kid when he was entertaining the crowds. Tfs Alan.
Brilliant video really enjoyed it, Frankie was born next door to my great friend David Klein in Devon Street in Liverpool. David was a tank commander in the 8th Army in North Africa, he was childhood friend with Frankie and thought the world of him, before Frankieâs family moved to Leeds.
What a beautiful man and his wife. Bless you for sharing. Brings a tear.
Great man as well as a great entertainer ,He was appearing at the talk of the north in Manchester ,Winton senior secondary school were holding their school garden fete when their guest star couldn't turn up ,they phoned Frankie up who was appearing at the talk of the north and he agreed to turn up at short notice ,he wouldn't take any fee and took part in the many attractions on offer that day,he payed to go on the attractions on offer and mingled with the crowd freely ,a genuinely nice man
What a superb story. It shows you how genuine the man was. Thank you ever so much for posting. It was fascinating. Regards, Alan
Well done Alan. Yet another great video. Youâve been covering quite a lot of graves that are near to where I live, Billy Fury, Long John Baldry, Lena Zavaroni, Lyndsey De Paul, and now Frankie. Iâve known Frankie was in Bushey for a long time now, but have never visited. I will do now, one day soon. What a lovely story he left us. A terrific performer, and human being. Thanks for bringing this one to our attention. Long May you continue with your videos. Bless. đ
Hi Arfa I didn't know I was in your neck of the woods. You better keep watching them because I've got a few more coming up from this area. Take care of yourself. Alan
đ„°đđŒâ€...I was 4yrs old when I met Frankie Vaughan my parents took me too a show, when he stopped in front of me (front row seats) picked me up, as he was singing, did a twirl& put me back, I can't remember what he was singing, but I have never forgotten him â€
@@ingridmitchell1742 Ingrid, what a lovely story. Just imagine those 20 seconds have stayed with you all your life. He had the X factor before the X factor existed. Thank you for the comment. It was lovely and very pleasing for you. Take care, Alan
Great one Alan, this has to be one of my favourites. What a great man Frankie was may he rest in peace with his wonderful wife đâ€ïž
I was fortunate to having met Frankie four times after his performances, I met Stella once also. I belonged to his fan club for many years, I was devasted when Frankie died, he was a wonderful man, so full of goodness and kindness, he is so terribly missed.
Who never liked him!
He was a legend.
What's not to like?
Great video of a great man. Thanks. I appeared on the stage of the Manchester Palace Theatre in the 60âs, as part of the Stockport Ladsâ Clubâs gymnastic team (our contribution to the Boysâ Clubs Show) Frankie was top of the bill & final act. I still have the original (treasured) poster of that show, and a photo of my sister taken with him when he visited the Boysâ Club. You are right, we need people like him in our world to maintain that human kindness you mentioned. Thanks again for posting the interesting video.
I lwas born a few streets from the great man and my son's first names are VAUGHAN .FRANCISi HE WAS LOVED BY US SCOUCERS GREAT GUY AND SUCH A GENTLEMAN...
Such a handsome man!
When asked how my surname was pronounced, my answer was VAUGHAN! AS IN FRANKIE VAUGHAN!!
His voice was rich & silky, & of course, that giggle of his!!
I'm 76 and I remember Frankie as a kid. We had his records on the old 78s that we used to play on Moms old radiogram. He was a great entertainer.
Class bloke :):)
Frankie was a lovely man who did an awful lot for kids and teenagers to steer them on the right path in life away from street crime. When I was a youngster he was my motherâs hearthrob. We never missed a show. A genuinely lovely man, and always true to his wife, in live with her until his death. Gid bless him!
Well what a brilliant description of Frankie Vaughan Alan . really enjoyed watching this.
Yes but I want my old mucker. Who does the Eddie Waring impersonations!
My goodness what a huge cemetery, well done Alan, another brilliant life story of a brilliant entertainer. Frankie was a lovely family man and I remember his career and his charity work. What a great thing he did bringing peace to the gangs. Thanks Alan, you did a great job remembering a great man. Take care.
Isn't it interesting? Every video is a unique person as it is All life but these individuals have a collected connection and influence on us. And thank you ever so much for encouraging me from the beginning. I really appreciate it. Take care nice night Joan, Alan
16 acres founded in 1947 to serve entire Greater London Jewry. Bushey was well outside London then. Itâs filling up fast!
Glad I found your channel, a very fitting tribute to a lovely man who I met once in an hotel in the Midlands, a charming pleasant guy with no " I am the big star" attitude ..Thanks
What a wonderfully respectful man. Alan, youâve done them proud. Together in eternity. R.I.P. Frankie & Stella.
Loved Frankie.
Thanks Alan another great homage. My Mum used to love him đ
That super Jean. Take care, Alan
I saw Frankie Vaughan in the Musical đ”đ¶ 42nd Street at the Drury Lane Theatre đ in Londonâs West End. It was one of the best shows I had ever seen. Thanks for the tribute. đčđ©
Thanks Alison
Frankie's mother was Russian Jewish. He was her favourite son and in her thick Russian accent she called him 'My number Vorn' , hence his stage name. Frankie's sister Carol married Neville Winehouse and they had a daughter Amy so Frankie was Amy Winehouse's uncle
Amyâs father was Mitchel and mother Janis
Lovely guy I went out with him a couple of times whenI was in Lancaster Uni. He was a great performer
Well done Lesley :-)
I remember my friend telling me that when he was a boy he once met Frankie outside the stage door at the Alhambra in Bradford he said he was the last person to leave after meeting fans and signing programme, he made time for everyone there, he ruffled my friends hair and said pleasantries. This is confirmed by his mum who said that Frankie was a true gentleman and had a smile to melt hearts.
I have no idea what show he was in, as my friend passed away several years ago but he was about 7 yrs old at the time.
Thanks for triggering a memory.
Hello third fish, I come from Bradford so I know the Alhambra well that's a lovely story. It's so nice to be able to have those memories. Frankie did seem such a wonderful guy. I don't think I've ever done a celebrity. That was so nice to everybody. See you Alan
I attended a zoom talk by his son in the last year ago who lives in U.S.A. I think Los Angeles, and he said to the zoom audience that he had a surprise and introduced his mum, Stella who also gave a little talk about Frankie. It was a surprise to learn from your CZcams video that she has now passed on. Thanks for an excellent video and also for placing a small stone on each of their graves which is a Jewish tradition.
Hello Sharon, how super interesting to watch the conversation with his son and it was sad about Stella. I've been watching documentaries. I know they were made a fewp years ago but until I did the research I didn't know she died so close to the time. Yes, thank you for the stones. I know I'm looking to play something on every grave I visit in the future as soon as I can organise it. Bye for now Alan
It was good to learn more about Frankie and what a lovely man he was. Enjoyed the video very much.
He was truly inspirational, Loved him.
I love him so much! He was such a star, the real ONE. Thank you for absolutely amazing videoâ€
My Auntie Maisie was a huge fan. She literally swooned when he kicked his leg. I bought tickets for her to see him at Lincoln theatre Royal. I was best niece ever! A favourite was Green Door. Thank you really brought back some great memories
Hello Janice, yes that's exactly. It was quite a sex signal at this time what a lovely memory for you take care Alan

Thank you TB for the lovely comment and my pleasure. All the best, Alan
My company supplied the limos for his daughters wedding from his house in Totteridge. Lovely classy guy and he looked after the chauffeurs very well.
often wondered about Frankie Vaughan thanks for sharing
I Went to see Frankie in Southport with Mum back in the 70s.. Mum loved him. she was shouting "over Her Frankie" RIP.
Really enjoyed this one, as usual, Alan. I did not know anything about Frankie, but you always manage to catch my interest. He sounded a remarkable man and human being and I must admit this video did feel a bit emotional. You did Frankie and his wife Stella proud in this one Alan. Thank you.
Hello Louise, he's got to be the nicest guy I ever looked into. So many people said the same thing. He was such a caring down to earth mega star :-) seriously he was nice âșïž
I was a teenager when he came to open Winchester boys club. He was gorgeous, so friendly. Iâll never forget that day.

Hi, Diane what a lovely memory. So nice when you actually met the people that are in the film. Thank you for the story. Ala
I watched Frankie Vaughan on tv with my dad when I was a kid he was such a big star and I was lucky enough to see him in person when I was a teenager. My workplace in Nottingham organised a coach trip to Blackpool and the show in the evening. Frankie was top of the bill and Cilla Black who I loved and Jimmy Tarbuck was compare. Thanks for bringing back these happy memories of my youth. â€ïžđ
Hello Rita, what a lovely night. They were all great characters. We still got Jimmy I'm so pleased it brought back the memories. Take care, Alan
Just discovered your channel. Love the fact that you find the graves and explain the lives of British performers. Loved the story of Frankie Vaughan.
Hello Avril, Frankie Vaughn was a super guy. I never realised myself till I researched him. Thank you for the comment. Alan
My Gran had an old wind-up gramophone. One of her favourites was Frankie and the Kaye Sisters with 'Gotta Have Something In The Bank, Frank'. I was allowed to wind the gramophone, sometimes with disastrous results (think Chipmunks). I just found the song on CZcams and was transported back to the days when I had my whole life in front of me. Thank you.
I was Lucky to Meet him and waiting on a Flight to the Canary Islands Spain at Heathrow what a really nice guy so Genuine
When I got married in Carlisle, Frankie was at the hotel I had my reception. He came over to me and we had a photo taken together, I still have it. He was a lovely man and he's wife was with him. Rip Frankie
Thank you Alan for another great video. Frankie Vaughn was my beautiful Auntyâs fav singer and her husband was so jealous of him lol, even tho they looked so alike :)
Please take good care Alan as itâs quite an emotional journey for you each time but thank you so much :)
Hello Helena, it is a bit of a journey each time but I enjoy everyone and thank you ever so much for commenting. See you again. Alan
I remember back in the very late 60s early 70s working as an overnight garage forecourt attendant on Newport Pagnell services on the M1 from time to time Frankie would bring his Bentley around the back of my little Portakabin with his wife would come in and have a coffee with me and a bite to eat rather than going to the services he was such a nice man he mustâve come in maybe 10 or a dozen times
Hello Greg, what a fantastic memory for you. You met him on numerous occasions. It's always so lovely when somebody has personally known the subject of the film to some degree and you stand out having met him quite a few times. It's nice to hear that he was just nice a guy as everybody else says. Very interesting and thank you for the comment. Regards Alan
what a brilliant video Alan thankyou
we all adored Frankie.
what a magnificent cemetry too
R.I.P.
Hello Anna, it's just like life. Every story is very individual and for me, this guy was so lovely. He was an inspiring human being. Thank you for the comment. I'll watch out for you. All the best, Ala
You certainly do your research thoroughly, always delivered with integrity and an honesty which shines through everytime, the respect you show is to be commended, by enlarge most people wouldn't know the other side of many celebrities so it's great you can educate those who have an interest...well done!
Hi Asbury I find it a real pleasure the bit before the video because I usually try to watch at least two documentaries and then you get to know what the people are liking, the people around them, thought, etc. And then it allows me to be able to feel I know the person and do the video with feeling. But I appreciate your comments and I do genuinely enjoy it. If people do that's great! Thank you so much! You've spared me on Best Alan
Frankie Vaughan came to woolworths in swansea to sign records & with the crowds I had to pick up my dog in my arms frankie made a point of coming over not to talk to Me but he literally took my dogs paw & kissed it & patted my dogs head & that memory will always be with me this would had been around 1978
Hello Jacqueline, what' an Absolutely wonderful memory. It makes me shiver. I have loved my dog and cats. Isn't it amazing that such a small moment in time can last a life time What a lovely thing for you. Love your comment. Take care, Alan
Again Alan, what another great documentary and tribute you made to a great man and his wife, Frankie & Stella Vaughn. Thanks.
Nice to see you Earl have a great evening and thank you. Alan
You are a story teller with an obvious compassion for all...remember him as a kid watching in early days on B & W TV
Hi SS how kind i love knowing the real celebrity and what was there real life was Big Thank You !
That was a brilliant tribute to Frankie (and Stella) what a top man he was my late mother went to see him in concert once and actually met him she said he was a gentleman. Thank you Alan I will watch the documentary later today. God Bless đđđ€
Hi Jkk it's well over a year since I watched the documentary, but I remember it was excellent and especially the work he did for the boys club was wonderful. I hope you get time to watch it on CZcams. Thank you, Alan
I always remember him singing Green Door.
Great crooner from the 50's 60's...a family man who gave a lot of his time to good causes....give him the moonlight ....give him the girls...and leave the rest to him....
Hey Alan wonderful post this mate ..... The talented Frankie he was a wonderful man and great singer too and a genuine bloke too .... Sadly missed by many fans đŻđŻđđ
When I was young around 11 we had every year on the Cricket we had someone come and perform,
and Frank came and sang, it was a shame I only got to see him going to his car being chaced by a Lady fan with long hair, he stopped turned around and gave her his Autogramm and a kiss on the cheek, the Lady turned around and she was in her 60s, I must say she was fast, that was the first and last time, thats funny it's just brought back a memory my hair dresser was almost the double to Frank, thanks for your Videos keep up the good work.
Hello John, You are a prime example of what really makes me channel feel rewarding for me to remember such a wonderful moment when Frankie has been so kind to this lady and you to notice it is so special. It's a moment in time, but it reflected the way that he thought it was kind and a massive. Thank you for writing this đ I'm welling up and that's the truth. I hope I see you again on the channel. Thank you, Alan
As a callow lad i spent a summer season moving the scenery around at the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne where Frankie Vaughan was performing (and if i remember Peter Goodright and Norman Collier).
He was always interactive with everyone,be they stage staff or the dancers and never saw him display any "showbiz" tantrums.
Hi Alan great video what a great man he was still highly respected to this day in Glasgow for what he done to stop gang wars RIP frankie đđđđ
Hello John, That was such a great story. It said he cried when he heard about the violence and said he'd have to do something even though his agent didn't want him to. A great guy and thank you for the comment Bye Alan
