A beautiful car with a manual gearbox , that’s very rare nowadays!
911 - the car that started it all for me. A friendly neighbor of ours had a 996 that he let me sit in, and the rest is history! I really appreciate how carefully Porsche has evolved the 911 over the years. Yes, it’s become more and more of a GT car with each generation, but Porsche has such a clear vision of what the 911 represents and always resists the urge to use it as an opportunity to chase trends such as tech domination. Huge respect for that, and that approach is so conducive to the cult-like passion around this car that other automakers would kill to have. Looking forward to seeing how the 911 continues to evolve these next few years!
Well said, Will - I completely agree!
Holy shoot you had a SICK neighbor.
Goddamn, I haven’t seen anybody on youtube lately who makes as good of a car review as yours. You are bound to expand quickly, brother. Keep making those reviews coming on manual vehicles. Love your work.
Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement
Thanks for your work!!
Thank you for your support!
As for the shape, honestly the cabriolet has always been notoriously awkward and difficult to balance in a 911. However the 992 is the most elegant it's been top down. The Targa was a good compromise. Being an open cockpit driver, this is all me. Especially with the manual. The quality of this channel stands out in an ocean of reviewers.
Thank you for your insight, Lawrence. I agree that the Cabriolet has gotten better looking with time - I’d still prefer the coupe myself 😉
Nice comment, Lawrence, and spot-on correct on all points raised.
but the hunch made it iconic 911
Great video. Is there creaking sound w too top?
Manual transmission 👍
I have shared your channel to all of my friends 🙂
Thank you so much! 🙏
This is my favourite Porsche
Very thorough & helpful 👍🏼
I’m so glad!
what a beautiful car!
I Love my precision 2022 Targa 4s all the way .
I know what you mean about no roll. Just the best German engineering experience . Just WOW!!
Does it have a mechanism that prevents burning the clutch if somebody drives it with their foot resting on the clutch pedal?
27:47 - roofline with top up is fantastic.
to me the 911 is not a practical car, in coupe or cab form, so why not get the cab? drop the top, enjoy the exhaust note and wind. then in winter or family road trips, drive your sedan or SUV or pickup truck. I’d feel like I’m missing out if I got the coupe version. has to be the cab. imo
@MilesPerHr how do you compare this to the 718 GTS 4.0? If you had to choose one, which one would you choose ?
The sound of that 4-liter Boxer 6 would probably lure me to the Cayman GTS 😉
Great review Miles. Really enjoyed hearing your take on this 992 Cab. I agree with the rear being bulbous and a bit ungainly. However I actually feel the rear end design of all 992 vehicles are not that great looking to begin with as they keep making the.911 longer and wider. The manual fixes a lot in this car and especially the cockpit where it eliminates the VW Golf nub shifter for the pdk version. I would take the manual 992 over a C8 and its dct. 997.2 was peak 911 in my opinion.
Yep - a friend has a 911T and I think it might be a future collector car (perfect blend of refinement and excitement)
@@MilesPerHr Absolutely
Tbh i like the convertible silhouette more than the coupe, I never liked the silhouette of a 911 without a ducktail spoiler like e.g. the 992 turbo.
I thought I was the only one
Nobody needs such big bottles. 😉 Cup holders are not so important in europe.
I love it
10:31 isn't that indentation on the handle for that very reason? You should be able to tap it to bring the handles out and unlock the car.
What are your thoughts on the targa top version of the new 911?
I prefer Targa to Convertible, but Coupe to Targa. Targa is great in concept but the clean look of the coupe is even better.
Nice driving skills bro
Incredible car better then a Ferrari
@@patrickandler6732 obviously duh
The front vents feed the radiators. I love the cab and the big butt. I don’t like the bare black plastic back by the exhaust tips either. Overall, I think the 991.2 looked better actually.
I choked when he said nothing more. A reviewer should at least know what he’s directly looking at. Crazy
Wow that was a long review brother. Goodjob. Covered all the details . I agree this is Driver car. Passenger will scares in the car way too much and and style is not as good as mclaren or ferrari anyways
Perfekt allein ist gut genug: Handschaltung & frei saugender Motor.
The 992 GT3 is coming out
When the roof of the cabriolet is closed, the 992 siluhette is exactly the same as the coupè
True, but here in CA, it’s almost always top-down weather 🌞
I agree.
I beg to differ about the rear.
Is it possible to open the roof with the keys?
Unfortunately, no
Can you permanently turn off the auto stop/start?
You can turn it off, but it won’t stay off permanently (it turns back on when you restart the car).
Use the short cut button to shut it off but when you drive in Sport Mode its off.
who's the lucky guy that got to deflower the chin spoiler? 😉😉
Agree! Coupe all the way. Not a fan of the convertible - it kills the whole entire muscular profile of the ride.
TARGA ALL THE WAY !!
Aston Martin manual transmission please 🤔🙄
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I prefer PDK !!!
Big bottle? WTF needs a gallon of softdrink?
Dude we get it, but please keep the NEGATIVE opinion part short not soooooo enfatic
For an in-depth review, I share ALL of the best and worst parts about the car. If it was a 10 minute, skim-the-surface review, it would look different.
Interior look very plastic
can't have adaptive cruise control with a manual transmission
can't have a surviving society with a liberal democracy
those are the rules
