Hellloooo! My name is Clancy and I'm originally from Long Island, NY, whch is about 40 minutes from NYC. In 2017, I moved to Ohio to become a TV news reporter, but after waking up at 2 a.m. for 5 years, I decided to leave that job and pursue CZcams full-time.

I’ve been wanting lasik for YEARS! please film Zac’s process. Reading all the comments of the people who got it and loved it makes me just want to take the plunge.
Sometimes medicine is a trial and error thing because people do react differently. It's good to talk to your doctor asap because in general the medicine should not be worse than the problem it's trying to fix. But I am super interested in seeing Zac's Lasik journey! I had an appoitnment for a lasik consult in March 2020 JUST before the world shut down so the appointment got cancelled and I have yet to reschedule! Looking forward to seeing his experience!
I just got my eye surgery in july and it's been life changing. I went the smile surgery route so I wouldn't have that flap for the rest of my life (toddlers and eyeballs don't mix). They didn't expect my vision to be 20/20 after but it is. They freedom of not having to wear contacts/glasses is life changing
and paying one time up front instead of like $300 a year for glasses and exams? life changing :)

I eat the same way as you! Makes grocery shopping so simply. Eases my mind with so many decisions. Frees up time and energy. My husband however eats like a normal person. 😅🤣 i can’t make the same lunch for him any longer than a week. And then he’s burnt out.
I got lasik in June of this year and it was the best thing I have ever did for myself. Better than my tummy tuck 😂😂😂😂 It has bettered my life so much.

I got tired of my glasses fogging up when we had to wear masks, and I had horrid vision. Lasik was the best thing ever. And I have better than 20/20 vision now

Clancy, I got Lasik surgery back in 2009, and it was the best investment that I could’ve gotten! They even got me to better than 20/20 on my vision! Now that I just turned 60, the last few years, I’ve had to start wearing readers for seeing close up! but that is to be expected🤷♀️
Also back then they gave you some strong stuff, i.e., Vicodin, that you take once you get home because they want you to sleep as long as possible. So I didn’t experience anything such as the numbing wearing off or any discomfort. Keeping my fingers crossed that Zach’s lasik surgery is a success!👍🏻👍🏻
Also, I hope you start to feel better as you get used to your new medication!😁
Back in July I had to start taking blood pressure medication because I was having heart palpitations and eventually a few episodes of afib. The medication helps a lot, but the first month or so was tough. Every day around 1 pm I would start getting drowsy. It’s fine now, but I was starting to think it would last forever!

The thing with the corrective surgery is eventually your vision does get worse again. My sister enjoyed like 12 years but then needed glasses and contacts again and they said the risks of having it done again are really high so they don't recommend ut.

True, it will change gradually. I had mine done in 2009, and I still have 20/20 vision. I can see a little bit of a degradation, and I am having to wear readers for seeing close more now. but I still think it is way worth it!
I had LASIK done on my left eye and cataract surgery on my right eye at 45 yo. My left eye was for distance, right eye for reading. At the age of 50 had cataract surgery on the left LASIK eye. Wear readers that you can buy anywhere for reading and knitting. You just don't realize with age how yellow your natural eye lens becomes. Colors were so much brighter and true. I was very fortunate that the Dr that did the LASIK, also performed the cataract surgery.
I'm almost 70 now, my vision is perfect for me 😊

Medication side effects are so hard to balance if it’s worth it, im 28 also and I’m chronically ill with a few complex issues I sleep 2hrs daily mid day which I hate but I can’t function sometimes you just need to sleep.
With food Clancy I’m the exact same way I will eat the same thing for weeks and then get over it and start a new obsession! My stomach is paralyzed and I’m tube fed through a tube that goes into the small intestine so it’s very small amounts but even when I could eat I was like that.
I went to Sephora last weekend and got some BUM BUM cream. It's SO nice. I had to research the dupe from Costco that I had bought first and thru that found that it's supposed to be pronounced Boom Boom LOL I still say Bum Bum lol it's cuter

It’s just 5 ingredients! Mash together 3 bananas, 2 cups of oats, dates, oil & vanilla extract and bake for 30ish minutes at 400! (You have to keep checking them bc the bake time will vary based on how big you make your cookies)

I got lasik but the procedure was called "smile", I think it's a little less invasive and it's been great! It was 3 years ago, I don't have dry eyes or any side effects. I do see a little glow around lights at night, that's the only difference I noticed. My recovery took idk, maybe a week, but I could see well the next day and was already texting everyone to let them know how it went XD my one eye took a little longer to fully heal, so it was a little bit uncomfortable for a week (feeling like something is stuck in your eye) but it went away.

I have chronic dry eye disorder, cause unknown. It's an incredibly uncomfortable condition to live with, especially considering I'm still fairly young and it's usually something that happens when you're older. As I understand it, dry eye can be a long term side effect from LASIK, albeit rare. Just something for him to consider because I wouldn't wish this discomfort on anyone. ❤

I had really dry eyes before lasik but after lasik my dry eye actually got better.
Omg Clancy please get a box cutter, you using knives to open your packages kills me! It also will dull your knives.
Give the meds some time for your body to adjust… Idk what it’s for but I’m sure if your doctor started it, it’s necessary. Maybe easing into it will make the side effects less debilitating.

A shoe repair shop could fix your purse strap
Lasik ruined my moms eyes. She has to do eye drops all day every day. She has spent a fortune in every eye drop she can find and none work. She's had a revision surgery and it did nothing. Her doctors gaslight her telling her her vision is 20/20. Yet she has to keep blinking trying for her vision to clear up. Never ever mess with your eyes!

You are not correctly emphasizing the word Sharapova, you need to do it on 1 syllable. In Russia, she was known since childhood for the fact that she screamed loudly when she hit the ball. Her rivals always complained that her screams, similar to the moans of a dying seal, upset them.

As a former optician, now retired, I've been wondering how your vision has been since you had your lasik surgery which at this point I believe was 6 - 8 years ago? I'm not sure if you ever said what your glasses or contacts prescription was prior to getting lasik. You only said it was bad, but most fulltime glasses wearers considers their eyesight as being bad without their glasses. As an optician I consider anyone's eyesight at and above -7.00 as being bad. You had to be less than -9.00 because that's the limit for getting lasik surgery. Apparently your post lasik vision was never quite 20/20. Generally speaking it's very normal for most lasik patients to be at 20/15 and even 20/15 a month or so after their surgery. Now your right that by getting a lifetime warranty on your lasik in case your eyes should ever need what is called a "touch-up" which is really just doing lasik again to get your eyes back to perfect or better. But Several things you may or may not have been told. First of all they will only do a "touch-up" once your eyesight has reached 20/50 or 20/60. or about a -1.25 or -1.50 prescription. Also in redoing it the risk is considerably higher than it was the first time. That's because your corneas have already been made thinner from the first surgery. If your eyesight is good enough that your still able to pass the vision test for driving that means your vision is still no worse than 20/40 or you would need glasses to drive. So your vision is somewhere between 20/30 and 20/40. I'm really surprised that your doctor didn't prescribe you glasses so your eyesight would be 20/20. You most likely don't see very well when driving at night so you would benefit by wearing glasses when driving at night as well as driving during the day even. You certainly don't need to be wearing glasses fulltime, but I'm sure a weak prescription would be a benefit to you. Funny thing I was planning on asking you if you ever miss your glasses? It's amazing how many that gets lasik start missing their glasses a few years after lasik. What they have told me is that they actually liked their glasses and liked wearing them. But what they didn't like was not being able to see without them and being forced to wear them. I'm sure a -.50 SPH prescription would be all you would need to bring everything into perfect focus for you.

I’m guessing you’re taking anxiety medication or something similar. I don’t think it’s your intention but it shouldn’t be taboo to talk about it! It’s like anything else, mental health is just as important as physical health. Maybe it’s something unrelated and I’m talking out of my ass, but I’m just assuming due to the side effects (they suck for the first week or so)
It has nothing to do with mental health! I’ve always been very open and honest when talking about mental health ❤️
I liked everything in that Lulu's haul, really nice tops! Those Currito stops make me want Currito, so I looked and found that there's on right by WDW on my commute to work - I think I will be stopping for a bowl on the way home from work in the near future.
As someone with 9 autoimmune disorders and multiple other health issues, I try to avoid medications as much as possible. When I had my first stroke, my neurosurgeon told me the reputation I had in the medical group I use is that I will refuse medication. It was time to clarify it, which thankfully, he noted in MyChart. I told him that I'm averse to using medications for the first line of defense, because every medication has side affects. If I am given a medication for everything I need to treat, those medications will all have side effects, and eventually, I'll be taking medications to treat the side effects.
It's better to just stick to medications for the absolutely necessary things. He agreed. I take meds for my ADHD, anxiety, and clotting disorder. I use OTC eye drops for Sjogrens. Believe it or not, most of my other autoimmune issues are now in near-remission thanks to a diet protocol for autoimmune suferers.
Finally, good luck to Zac on the lasik!
