Hunters stand there barely shooting was done on purpose by Valve's AI. They want a AI that prioritize player over NPC's so player is always being pressured by hunters. Unlike other NPC's who will focus on enemies based on distance.

From a design perspective, barnacles are really interesting. It looks like for all entities besides the player, the target is killed when they touch the tongue, not when the enter the mouth.
And of course this game would be detailed enough to have the barnacle die when eating a poison headcrab

it's simple targetting AI. The zombie moved interest to the newest target,but it went too far behind so the zombie moved interest in the poison zombie. It's not intended interaction,just targetting AI

I think the reason the acid antlion died upon it hitting the antlion guard is due to a script with its AI package that often prevents it from being used by the player to kill the antlion guard(s) you encounter in episode 2.
The other, glowing one is called a Guardian

9:09 believe it or not, in base hl2, barnacles had no programming for interacting with poison headcrabs. this used to cause the game to crash, but it never occurred because at no point in base hl2 are their barnacles and poison headcrabs in the same area. this was fixed by ep1
Same happens with rollermines, and you can cause that crash without cheats by carrying a rollermine through highway 17 and sandtraps all the way to nova prospekt.
I tried that once and the game just went black, lol
In Half-Life 2 there is area with barnacles and poison headcrubs. I think it is in start of "Follow Freeman", in sewerage
@@yokicimmerman7234 I might be wrong, haven't played in a while, but I think theres an invisible wall that prevents npcs in that area from moving into the area that the barnacles are in so as to prevent crashes, since it would be possible to lure a poison headcrab into the barnacles otherwise.
There were poison headcrabs and barnacles in the sewage canal.

Metrocop vs stalker was such a meme.
He tried to walk away until he got annoyed and just laser-eyed the metro.
And then got destroyed because metrocops can shoot while moving sideways. CPs superior.
Stalker combat ai is abysmally bad and requires some more thinkering to have it activate in the right time. Stalkers will engage other enemies if they see you kill one of them or in this case of taking significant damage.

Given their incredible armor, one could easily shrug off the bullets and get close enough to strike a leg, but whether it manages to injure a leg or get impaled I guess depends on the intelligence of both

You see, most have the mobility to dodge the initial projectile and take it down. Zombine grenades, however, are harder to avoid because the Zombine is holding onto it while charging you down, and it insta-kills (or at least does a stupid amount of damage).

How is it fair to take away what makes a zombine a zombine. But not take away what makes a poison zombie a poison zombie and if it's to make it fair then there would be no video and no battle because they would draw...
If you attack a zombine's arm, they will drop their grenade. It's an easily countered move. If you don't believe me, load up one of the episodes and try for yourself.

@@niiiiiiiiiiiiaif any npc spawned in any place they aren't supposed to be, they would either walk to any info_node(s), or just stand around and do nothing, unless you tell them to follow you. He doesn't tell that because it's just too obvious.
