Lady depone il lume e si frega le mani, facendo l'atto di cancellare qulche cosa.

She is the BEST by far, but as says the french proverb Il n'est pire sourd que celui qui ne veut pas entendre. She IS simply Lady Macbeth, more than ANY other Maria Callas included. An immense singer, a voice without holes, and she at least doesn't give the impression to sing with remnants of potatoes in the mouth... SHE DOES ALL SHE WANTS WITH HER VOICE. Absolute beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GHENA DIMITROVA UNICA E INSUPERATA ARTISTA!!!purtroppo diretta da muti....che il re vieta...occasione sprecata perché la Lady fatta da Lei è rimasta i superata
il re l'ha sempre fatto quando l'ho sentita 5-6 volte ed era bperfetto; puo darsi che muto l'abbia tagliato, perche non é scritto originariamente; peccato!

Isn't Lady MacBeth supposed to be sleepwalking? There, Dimitrova sings sometimes with too much health, vigorously, where it could be more ambiguous, (only one filati), she doesn't bring strange colours to her voice. It is always round and even, too monochromatic. But of course I admire the quality (except the fast vibrato up there), the roundest, and largest voice in the world.

Generally speaking, one should not "hit" a note, but rather sing it.

@@enthusedtosing9655 i think ive matured a bit since this post. I think the power and weight in Dimitrova's voice overrides the high C#6 at the end. The voice is massive and not everyone is perfect
Misses the mark. Over sings it. Misses the point. Beautiful voice, though (which even according to Verdi, Lady Macbeth was not to have!)

Es ist nicht gut,wenn das Des auf einem file di voce gesungen am Schluß der Arie ausgelassen wird.Für einen Sopran ist dies eine Pflichtnote.Mezzosoprane wie Baltsa,Verrett,Bumbry,Cossotto und Larmore etc.haben mit dieser von Verdi geschriebenen Note keine Schwierigkeiten !!!!!!!!
aveva una grande voce,si sa,ma la Lady ,che esige anche agilità e coloratura,non era il suo meglio.Il re bem scritto da Verdi con la annotazione in piano, non lo hai mai eseguito.Come Amneris era grandiosa,invece.
Arena di Verona 1982 - Fece un re bem entrato di diritto nella Storia. Immagino lo abbia visto in questi anni, ci sono diversi video e audio su CZcams. Nel caso si vada ad informare meglio.
Splendida e indiscutibile sempre ma, in questa parte, non è credibile! Questo momento è profondo ed è necessariamente un meccanismo psicologico. Qualcosa non quadra. Forse, troppa enfasi vocale. In qualsiasi caso, fisicamente è completamente fuori dall'atto scenico.
