Assalamu alaykom wa rahma'tullah wa barakatuh, Subhan Allah, you reminded me of a war story that a veteran told me. [the witholding f water to the thirsty man]. After a bomb had destroyed a place, it took the people who were rescuing and recovering the bodies, days to dig out everyone. One man was rescued after a few days, and was intensely thirsty, and he was so thirsty that he drank the first liquid he came across, which killed him [inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un], and yet he was so close to where clean fresh water and tea was waiting for him, the crew who had rescued him, tried to take the liquid away and even shouted at him that he only hd to wait a minute more and he could drink a safe drink. He had actually reached for, and drank, an entire bottle of parafin. Subhan Allah, that filled me with a lot of horror, subhan Allah. And it relates so well to what you explained, we can only imagine the immediate gratification, but do not see the harm that things can cause us.

I prayed for 10 years for marriage and alhumdulillah two years ago I got married. Less than a year later I got divorced because he completely changed and broke all his promises. I remember at first I was so happy and I thanked Allah for giving me the one I was waiting for. Now I’m back in square one and more alone than ever. Why did Allah not let my marriage work? Why didn’t he bless me with the husband who would stay with me? I keep asking myself these questions and people tell me to be patient and pray. I’m so tired of being patient and praying because for 10 years I was so sincere that Allah will grant me a good man and I did not date or do anything because I believed. I don’t feel like doing anymore duas because even if they get answered Allah can take it back from me at anytime. I’m so heartbroken and I just don’t want to live anymore if I have to do sabr all over again

Hi, i'm also in the same condition as where you are right now. I've been praying to meet someone who loves me so much, and finally I met him. Just a week ago, Allah took him away from me and now I feel so lost. Sometimes I also want to give up. But I hope that Allah will give us strength to get through this and everything will make sense again.

Salaam sister, in hardship there is Ease.... I know what you're feeling, but do not let your pain destroy you. The Prophet of pbuh explained how we should express grief, " The Heart Aches, and the Eyes shed Tears ... But the tongue does not utter except that which is pleasing to Allah swt ", and it may be that there are blessings coming into your life at the same time of this loss but the pain will pull your attention away from them, seek them out, and I say sincerely, seek to learn stories and observe the lives of those who are in a much worse situation than yours, because it will help you realize the mercy of Allah swt in your trial....... Yasmin Mogahed described what to do when we're in the trial and start to lose Hope, " You need to ask Allah swt...what is the lesson in this trial? Not, why am I going through this? Why me? Because there is a lesson to be learned here, and there is an opportunity for growth and ease in the trial, but you will only find it if you seek it" Ask Allah swt for guidance, ease, and his love. Hearts are healed when the Love for Allah swt is greater than any other love. ❤ Entrust yourself to Allah swt, we are in this together sister.

Just simple common viruses, especially in the medieval times, easily caused death, and dirty water, so fasting and not drinking was a good cure.
