An interesting idea for a challenge would be gen 5 with only deerling. It’s about as strong as a first form starter.

Sap sipper is a pretty nice ability, it sucks that literally no important battle uses grass moves besides possibly the first gym or your strong rival. He can't make use of that of course since he usually tries to replace the starter that would be hardest for him to fight (meaning cherin would use tepig and the first gym pansear)

Here's a unique idea. Pokémon Platinum with Pokémon that have more than one head. Doduo, Dugtrio, Magneton, etc.

Since you do your fossil joke every time, i'd recommend a run with only fossil pokemon: universal randomizer one fossil, and get the other one naturally. And maybe you get the old amber in FRLG.

RSE Trapinch. I feel like that would be a pretty interesting run, since trapinch has amazing attack but garbage stats everywhere else. It might be best to do ruby or sapphire, as an emerald you have to face Juan and Wallace.
That sounds like it'd be fun to watch. I love Trapinch, though mostly because I find it funny that it evolves into a GROUND/Dragon type named FLYgon.

Steven’s Skarmory is the run killer. That is almost always where the runs die…
To be fair, Skarmory was the literal meta back in gens 2 and 3. It can physically wall, phase, set Spikes, and then, y'know, SkarmBliss or Skarmlax
I beat Steven with a treeko so I'd say tropius is pretty doable
For Gen 5, what about copying N's team? It could be interesting due to his always-changing teams!
That's going to have an issue with the final N fight, since the player can only get 1 of the legendary dragons and N gets the other.

@@kyubi5458 Arceus is awful starting out. Seismic Toss at Level 1 and it's a drag until it learns a decent move.

I've used Tropius before. It can be surprisingly workable with the right setup.
Anyway, requesting Pokemon B2W2 with Only One Chinchou.

Something that would require some research, you could do Gen 2 with only Normal type moves. It should be possible to get past the Ghost types with Foresight, so I'd be interested to see how far you could get

Was surprised that Salamance road blocked you so effectively. Honestly it’s why I love the solo challenges, it’s fun to see what ends up being more difficult than expected.
Did you know you can get the giga drain tm in route 123 if you talk to a girl facing a tree(if you have a grass type)? Could be useful in the future
I'd love to see an absol run. I think it'd be super silly to see an entire run determined by crits.

This was definitely a nice run. Very unfortunate that you couldn't beat Steven in the end but still a fantastic run. Any challenge video that's 20+ mins always gets me going(oh yeah.....this gonna be a good one)
Honestly. That fight is very doable with Substitute, Growth, Rest/Giga Drain, Solar Beam. Substitute to completely ignore Skarmory’s Toxic completely. Sure, it has Aerial Ace, but it doesn’t hit hard on Tropius. At +6 Special Attack, Tropius plows through everything against Steven.

I actually already did this one myself since Tropius is my all-time favorite. I remember the biggest issue is the absolute sad state of your offensive coverage. Tropius basically gets a couple decent normal moves, a bunch of grass stuff, and Fly. If you run into a steel type, you immediately have a problem. I'm anticipating his run will have the biggest issues with A. Winona, B. getting past Drake and hitting Milotic hard enough that it doesn't ice beam you to next Sunday.
I had an idea for a unique challenge, what about Pokémon platinum or black but you can only use a team of Pokémon you got from a card pack. So you open a pack of Pokémon cards and every Pokémon you can catch in the game you use and for the starter you use the weakest one.
Pokemon Emerald with only one luvdisc? could be fun :D
Or maybe a run where you cant use ANY items at all.. will make for some interesting situations.

All hail the Almighty Algorith! I’m back, yet again, to ask/challenge MDB: Can you Beat Oblivion at Level One?
Before anyone can see this, I already know it’ll be buried deeper than the Root fossil I hope MDB didn’t forget to obtain.
Literally impossible. Daedric shrines all require levels, and the lowest is 2, and you HAVE to do 1. So the minimum to beat it is 2
@@morgankingsley8711 It’s bethesda, of course there’s a bugged daedric artifact quest. Enter the enemy “Umbra” a level 50 with mostly maxed out everything. She is the quest for one of the artifacts, or rather her sword is. It’s doable, in theory, just ridiculously difficult.

I'm surprised you never use Secret Power, it can be a random move typing, which could in turn be good or bad
I think that’s Hidden Power. Secret Power is always Normal Type, but the animation and secondary effects change based on the terrain.
What I like about these challenges is this, MDB asks, "Can I beat Pokemon (version) with a team of (challenge parameters)?" Often times yes he can! But there is the odd time, such as the Wobbuffet challenge, where he just can't. And I like seeing that too! Because I go into these thinking, he's got this in the bag! Thank you for our enjoyment MDB :)

I was trying this challenge myself but couldn't finish it so I don't yet know how difficult Glacia would be. My moveset before ending was Fly, Magical Leaf, Double Team and I think Body Slam.
I feel as one of the 'more challenging' potential vids, you should do whichever pokemon game you want, but you cannot spend money (or minimal amount)
Gen 1 would be impossible because of safari zone hm.
Not sure about other gens though

In yellow you don't technically need money for the safari zone. I'm pretty sure If you didn't have any money and tried to enter multiple times, it would eventually let you pass through for free. I want to say that pikasprey made a video on this
I think that and the drink to get into saffron city would be the exceptions since they’re required in Gen 1. In gen 3 someone gives you tea for the guards.
The fully evolved / single form pokemon with garbage moves / type etc are always my favorite single pokemon runs.
Corsola only in Gen 2 could be fun! I did Corsola only in Emerald and had a blast with it. That little spiky devil is tanky!
It always baffled me that maxie and Archie with Pokémon in the 40s are still using super potions.
Meanwhile, Hoenn's 4th Gym Leader already uses Hyper Potions, on top of having a STAB- boosted 140 base power attack. The Hoenn games are just peculiar.....

Swords dance strats and decent speed would make the run pretty easy
@@tangytim6699 Absol has terrible special attack and all dark type moves are special in gen 3. So no STAB moves. Absol has pretty bad defence aswell.
@@zjean3417 The defence is offset by learning double team a little bit after swords dance.
You're completely right about the special attack but it gets decent enough physical moves that the run wouldn't be that difficult, especially in the endgame

Based on the amount of damage was being done, I don’t think it would have been enough. Even if those strategies would have been enough for skarmory there is no way it would have helped for the rest of the team

New challenge Idea : "can you win a pokemon game only using the weakess damaging move for every type?" Non damaging move are still allowed if you find it too hard :)
Suggesting Pokémon Platinum with one Driftloon, 5 weaknesses, with almost all the major boss battles having something that can hit for super effective damage, but also has a decent move set and stats.

Top tip for grinding in the pass, or anywhere for that matter, get the achro bike and just hold B, you can get an encounter whilst hopping.
sunny day was the play all along, u never use weather stuff but the sun halves the damage of both ice and water moves while DOUBLING the damage of fire. same thing happens with the rain doubling the damage of water and halfing fire. Just so u know sand increases the special def of any rock pokemon while hail does pretty much nothing. i would personally love a castform only in later generations but u do u man i love ur content

Here's an idea for a challenge: any pokemon game, no limits on teams, but you can only use each move the exact number of times that it has PP for. So you can only use tackle 30 times total across all pokemon, Blizzard 5 times total across all pokemon, etc. The challenge is not just in beating the game, but also in having enough move uses to beat the game. (to be nice you could say that only fights that progress the game count towards move uses, so wiping on boss fights does not count towards your total as long as you reset the game after a wipe and don't gain EXP from the fight.)
That was fun. It was nice getting back to the single pokemon format.

New challenge idea!
Weakest Legends Challenge: Finding the lowest possible level to beat different Pokémon games with a single legendary Pokémon.
Example: Weakest possible Mewtwo vs. Pokémon Silver
Run would start with level 5 Mewtwo and ends with defeating Red. Skip ALL optional battles and wild encounters. Only allowed to grind if Legendary can’t pass a mandatory fight after a few attempts, such as unavoidable battles, gyms, elite four, and the fight against Red.
Other rules for the run still apply: only [insert legendary] allowed in battle. No glitches/exploits. No items in battle.
Adjustments can be made to the challenge to further handicap the legendary as needed, such as only allowing the first 4 moves learned by the legendary. No other moves allowed.
Pretty weird, since Combusken can take advantage of Fire-Type weakness of Tropius while at the same time, Tropius can take advantage of Flying-Type weakness of Combusken at the same time

I'm happy you did Tropius. It is my favorite Pokemon. I remember when I encountered it as a kid on Route 119 and thought it was a legendary at first because it looks so majestic. Also, that route is my favorite place in my favorite game :)
