Your reasons on why it’s more expensive are rubbish.
    1) unique carbon deck = more expensive to make. If that was the case the also unique carbon deck of the GTR would cost just as much.
    2) The larger motors. As you are buying them in bulk they would be $5-10 more at most, they come out the same factory in China as the others.
    3) the remote is better = yeah can I just have the option of spending $1000 less and keep the old remote?
    4) upgraded batteries = this one might be valid, but let’s say it’s $1-2 extra per cell, that’s still only $100 extra cost.
What I see is maybe, $100 extra in manufacturing costs, which as you make more boards should be coming down anyway, for an extra $1000 in price. You boys are dreaming, read the comments, just admit you missed the market in your price setting, own the mistake, and fix it.

    • @lewis7515
      @lewis7515 Před 3 lety +4

Not sure that argument is fair or even makes sense...
Some may argue it's quite over-designed, but there actually is an awful lot of design going on here - this has almost been treated like a true automotive product.
For example: it is, in fact, a unique carbon deck - I don't think they've claimed that makes it more expensive to make, but it probably does in the short term. This is manufactured from forged composite - which is a completely different application of the material of carbon fibre than laying it as a sheet, which was developed by Lamborghini...
The motors are twice the power rating of those on the GTR.... Twice. That feature does have a value premium which they're entitled to attach a cost to.
You've said yourself: the remote is better. In design and engineering it looks, very substantially, better. Better, is better. They're entitled to improve their products and attach a value to that improvement - you don't have to buy it, and that you won't buy it is not a reason for them to not want to improve their products.
Similarly, you acknowledge the power train is better. Better, is better. You've decided that improvement is valued at $2.00 per cell but that doesn't mean you're correct.
This looks like a complete revision from the ground up, with a high level of attention to design and engineering, in order to produce a uniquely polished product of its type. It seems quite unusual in those terms. All of that, actually does cost money and has a value. They obviously consider it a premium product - which then means a person should expect it to attract a premium ticket.... I don't know how anyone could look at this, versus the GTR, and decide that there's only $100.00 additional manufacturing cost.... that seems fantasy.
It is what it is. They're not forcing you to buy their board at the price they're setting for it? Save your money - meanwhile, they're in business and that means they want to extend their product offering, create a new tier, and sell their board for profit. If a given consumers budget or conscience won't contain the price, then that consumer isn't the one their looking at - that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with their product, their product strategy or their pricing. The test will be whether they will sell a great number of units to people who are prepared to pay for it, regardless of you.
It's all a little like someone complaining that Ferrari's are much too expensive for a car - when a Ferrari is obviously something else other than just a car; when people who do buy Ferraris will not be processing their purchase decisions from that kind of perspective; and while Ferrari will just continue to sell endless of their expensive Ferraris to the people who like Ferraris and who find that the features Ferraris exhibit mean that their price is acceptable to them. Don't understand it.
I think it's far too over-much for a damned skateboard at any price - but that doesn't mean it's not a beautiful, finely designed and detailed execution, or that it's not worth what they're asking for it.

@@lewis7515 congrats you must be the evolve marketing manager who had a say in their pricing, who else would get their back up so much about my post. You’re the person I was hoping would read this.
My post is one of many, by far the majority, saying it’s over priced. I’m not saying it’s a bad board, personally think it’s a great board, but it’s over priced. People don’t complain that Ferrari is overpriced in the comment section when they release a new car, but they are here, which means the customers, think it’s over priced. Listen to your customers, you don’t have the brand strength to be a Ferrari yet, people still remember the connectivity issues of the GT, the overheating cut outs, etc. that doesn’t go away overnight when you make some nice marketing collateral and sway some influencers. You need to release a good product like this, at a fair price that will flood the market and convert the masses with the product, not the marketing pitch or Q&A videos masquerading as price justifications videos.

@@Jakem4548 Be at peace: I have nothing, at all, to do with Evolve - but I do know a very little, about very little, which may be why you think I do.
Your post was simply based on invalid premises: every issue you raise - to claim as, "rubbish" - actually has a basis that is commercial: or could have a reasonable commercial rationale.... so, it's not, "rubbish". You may not agree or may not like it - but that doesn't mean it's, "rubbish".
I'm sure some people do complain about the price of Ferraris - but they're very different products, let's avoid any rabbit holes: Ferrari was an extreme example, just used in order to make a simple point more obvious - Evolve have declared that they've created this product to occupy a new, uppermost, tier - within their product line-up - while they maintain the GTR Series. It's, all, right there?
Like it, or not, people complaining that this new product is too expensive are not the market Evolve seem to be aiming at. I'm sure they can complain all day.
Nothing is certain, but Evolve seem very switched-on from a market analysis perspective: they're maintaining the GTR Series, which - while not perfect - is a strong offering, which will continue and continue to sell.
Meanwhile, they're obviously confident enough that they'll make enough sales of the new product from people who won't complain about its price, to dub out all noise.
It's not some kind of mistake that they maintain the GTR Series and create a new tier. This will have been strategic, and as engineered as everything else - as a result, it's not likely there's anything fix? It's much more likely that they will have set the unit price based on the consumer they were trying to target while this was still some sketches, and built it to that unit price. It doesn't look like they're interested in flooding the market, more that they're interested in extending it. They'll have already determined that the segment of the market that won't accept the price, won't buy this thing. But that's fine - because that's not the segment its for. It's for the segment that won't complain - and probably won't hesitate once they feast their eyes on it. It's, not, an "upgrade", to the GTR Series. It's something, else - occupying a space, of its own: looking all, "boutique".
It seems designed to very aggressively take ownership of that, "high end", space - so, Evolve are not going to, "adjust", any price. There's been no, "mistake".
People who cannot or will not tolerate the price are shouting in the wind - but that doesn't mean the strategy that produced the price is, "rubbish".
Perhaps there'll be some trickle down updates to the GTR Series - but nobody's going to down-price the Hadean and then have the product lines directly competing, with themselves: that's not a plan.
Again: nobody is forcing anybody to buy the Hadean at the price that's been set - and, by the same token, Evolve is a global business - not some benevolent uncle. They're not obliged to organise their affairs so that every customer can have, everything, at the price that suits, them... That's not what's happening: this is a situation where some potential customers - not all - have the flexibility to determine whether a given unit price for this particular offering is tolerable/justifiable - for them. That's just a simple fact of Life, not some kind of moral responsibility of Evolve.

Purchased a Bamboo GTR and after about 4 months of riding 3 to 4 times a week I started wanting more, I upgraded bearings wheels and tuned the board with bushings for my weight (240lbs)and absolutely love it. The board has never left me stranded and never once locked up, since you guys had not come out with a more powerful board about a year ago I started craving more power I felt the need for speed, I purchased a DIY Demon 2.0 my first ride out the board locked up and chucked me going about 30mph screwed up my shoulder and really really scared me and took away most of my confidence that I had gained the previous year of riding my GTR. I swapped out the ESC to a LaCroix Stormcore 60D and changed the remote to a Trampa Wand I programmed it using the VESC tool and realized they had screwed up the setting for a guy my weight when I ordered it originally. I guess the point of my post is people should really understand all the R&D you guys are putting into these boards to make them reliable safe fun. The amount of hours and the trial and error are hard to understand unless you dive into it and you will soon realize that yeah 3k is a lot of money but once you hit the ground at speed because you went a cheaper route and the R&D wasn’t there you will change your mind real quick. I am 54yr old professional and I do not have the time or the patience to deal with the DIY stuff. Y'all giving us the chance to run 6 inch all terrain tires with different gearing options?
When riding with 7 inch tires. Power, acceleration, distance and braking aren't sufficient when compared to the 6 inch tires especially when it comes to daily computing. I want to get the most out of my board and the comfort between 6inch vs the 7inch AT is minimal, yet the range, speed and braking is sufficient to warrant using 6inch tires.
AT tires are much more comfortable to ride on when compared to the 97mm and I can't see anything other than AT Tires getting me over bumps and cracks when going from footpath to road and back.
If I decide to buy another evolve skateboard, Hopefully this time the extra power will actually give me the ability to cruise on eco mode. The GTR completely and utterly lacked the ability to let me ride higher than 10kms an hour when riding on flat smooth concrete when on eco mode. I was lucky to get up to 3km an hour on an Incline up to 4%
I'll be honest, the last GTR was not up too standard. I had multiple issues with battery life, average 19km from a full charge. I would overheat after two Hills. I Was being thrown off the board when going up a hill ( Board going from 15% to 0% within 400m and/or completly turning off) . Board/controller turning off when holding the brake for the too long whilst going down a hill and waiting for it to auto sync back up so I can use the brakes again.
I hope this board is different, and I hope in time they do legally allow us in Melbourne to ride freely day to day.
You guys are situated amazingly in the market and if these laws change, then you'll be everyone's number one go to for PMD.
You dissapointed me with the GTR, fix the problems you had. Stop relying on having a pretty board to get you by when in reality you are over a year behind your competitors/ other skateboarding manufacturers when it comes to electronics, batteries and innovations.
It's time for you to actually be innovative and be at the front of building and producing electric skateboards, share the newest and latest technology. Only then can you and will you be able to charge $3000 successfully.

All well and good "Bigging up the Hadean" But you fail to "Accept" the defects and problems with all the other "Evolve" boards!
Accepted, Evolve boards are "Extremely good looking" BUT, selling previous boards with underated components is a serious problem!
Motors are always overheating, because they are basically "On the limit" due to underpowered. This is a design fault! And Evolve should stand up and take the hit, and send out new motors to customers, that are "Capable" of providing a product "Fit For Purpose" so motors are never "Stressed to their limits"!
Truck ends are slightly rounded, causing speed rings to dish.
Wheel hub bearings are incorrectly sized, and cause binding on hubs, and over wear bearings, due to incorrect bearing collar size.
Charging ports are repeatedly changed, but not for the better. The rubber ports are too irritating to spend ages trying to fit port cap, as it keeps popping out.
Double king pin trucks are designed incorrectly, as the two main bolts are too close to eachother, making it extremely difficult to loosen/tighten. And this causes damage to truck finish, as sockets and skate tool "Do not fit" without force.
All nuts and bolts are different sizes, it would be more convenient if they were all sized equal, so you don't need so many tools/Allen keys.
All nuts and bolts are clearly made in china, as they are "NOT" Imperial OR metric!
My opinion of Evolves Remotes, are that they are perfect in looks, practicality and weight. Although! They are extremely "Delicate"! Again, this is a manufacturing design fault! Making the actual housing and screw retaining lugs inferior! And easily broken, this leads to the remotes falling apart "Which should be repaired free"! Due to "Not fit for purpose"
Magnets in the acceleration and breaking (In remotes) are not "Fixed in position" therefore they move slightly when the remote is dropped. Thus having to "Keep" performing trigger resets! Again, this is a design fault! That you are not fixing, but just adapting the programming, to include a trigger reset. Just glue them in!
Remotes on/off button is seriously poorly made, it literally sits in the remote and is held in by tiny pin head lugs on the clear epoxy button.
Remote circuit board screw's inadequate, and not enough. The screw's do not provide solid placement of the circuit board, and also allows the magnets and board to flex, increasing problems with having to perform trigger resets.
Inferior cable cleats on motor wire looms by trucks, always pop off, as they are too flimsy to hold the cables permanently. They "Don't need" to be removable! Because you can just "Unplug" the motors outside of the board.
There are more faults, this is just a handful that are the worst.
Remotes are a good size for me, but I have large hands, for millions of men, Woman and youngsters, they are too cumbersome. I think the remotes should be made just a tad slimmer, But with a bigger screen.
My two sons are only 7 and 9 years old, and they can use them, but not with gloves or wrist guards. As said, most women and youngsters have smaller hands.
Great looking boards, good designs, But poor quality components, and "No attention to detail"!!!!!!!

Personally im not a hater of evolve, actually im a big fan and il probably buy a hadean when funds permit it. Come on evolve show em all how cool the hadean truly is. Cheers

That would be awesome, he can do the hillclimb with it, see if it outperforms the other boards.

@@ElGuapoDeSantoPoco exactly my thoughts aswell.. im also a fan of daniels vids.. highly entertaining albeit somewhat bias towards his feelings on evolve as a whole. Would be great for both himself and evolve i think

@@samsonizking I am not that much of a fan lately because of the continious Evolve bashing, but still would like to see the hill climb with this new board.

Daniel Kwan is butthurt about the China board’s comment. Is kinda pathetic all the anti evolve content he dishes out
