I will *NEVER* get over Roman Polanski getting away with raping a child and literally getting away with it. It’s actually disgusting and horrific that they awarded a wanted criminal whose crimes against children were confessed and plead guilty to. I have never watched nor will ever watch a Polanski film.
What about the cheering in the room when Polanski won?
Meryl Streep, Scorsese, and so many others giving standing ovations was so disgusting.
Thank you. Everyone in hollyhell has this attitude like he did nothing wrong
@@dhenderson1810 I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt in that panic makes one's mind struggle; like, you're seeing a rapist cheered, even if he is a talented filmmaker, so your mind can rush between "Do I make a scene by not clapping?" or "Should I just clap to avoid repercussions?" And at the time in early 2000's, anyone trying to make a statement would be seen as a troublemaker, rather than merely exercising a choice to not cheer for a man they believe/know to be a criminal; it is arguably selfish of them to not decry a monster, but it isn't a clear cut indictment on their morality to hide with the crowd.
Guess what. Most of the old authors (for example Tolstoy etc) were nothing different than that.... Even if some of their wives were "adults", the dynamics were abusive...
Charlie Chaplin is another example...
Poor Judy Garland, it's heartbreaking that she was subjected to all that mistreatment, and died relatively young. 💔😭She didn't even get to receive much of a childhood.
She needs to lose her voice
It’s so tragic how close her story mirrored the Norman Maine side of “A Star is Born” when Cukor hired her for the ‘54 film. Judy had some much talent, but it came at an ugly price by the studio system
It happens to a lot of child act rs, even today, unfortunately.
No one makes you sniff cocaine.
Not only did Roman Polanski win an Oscar, but many in the room (such as Meryl Streep) whooped and cheered him.
Stanley Kubrick's treatment of Shelley Duvall is another dishonorable mention.
Apparently they made peace, with Duvall saying she forgave him. Also, semantics, it wasn't criminal.
What happened
The sad thing is that the abuse of the actors and the animals are still happening in today’s society
True... I wish people would stop doing it!
Thanks, child labor law loopholes!
The accident that killed Vic Morrow and those two children on the Twilight Zone movie set ,and that the arrogant director that caused it got away with it is one of the worst crimes.
Landis absolutely deserves to be held accountable for that travesty on the set of the twilight zone movie. Even if it was a freak accident, he should’ve gotten jail time for manslaughter and also punishment for paying the kids under the table past midnight which is illegal in the film business. You can’t just overwork children at late hours. The scene they were shooting for was very dangerous behind the scenes and it wasn’t even in the script to begin with, they added it in at the last minute to give the protagonist a redeeming arc. I lost all respect for Landis ever since.
They weren't even child actors, they were just two kids from the village that he "hired." He took advantage of their ignorance and manipulated and lied to them.
Judy Garland was one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood. Shame on MGM for destroying her life!!
Hollywood is such a chaotic place that is basically an eldritch location
Goddamn right it is! What a town!
IKR is like a choas town a
AKA everywhere.
Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.
The actors on the set of Twilight Zone: The Movie weren't just killed. They were beheaded. Absolutely horriific and I still hold it against John Landis to this day.
Mr. Morrow and the little boy were; the little girl was crushed. Still sad, horrific, and unnecessary deaths they suffered. Rest in peace to them all.
If it wasn’t for the behind the scenes issues involving animals, imagine one of the crew members would’ve gotten charged with animal cruelty and abuse.
That happened with the series “Luck” and “Heaven’s Gate” when their animal cruelty got out
For quite awhile, animal cruelty was not considered a big thing and so no one really cared about it much. They seemed to think, "If the animal is hurt or killed, we'll just get another one."
Disney has a good few skeletons in their closet, and I'm not talking about the ones that reside in the Haunted Mansion.
Hey now. The real human bones are in Pirates
They deserve a list of their own.
Absolutely monstrous
Love Hollywood when it comes to awesome classics movies but when these bad things happen they need to help better and stop these bad things sight away
If actors want to take massive amounts of drugs I really don't care but the abuse of animals I do not and will not tolerate. I have worked on multiple movies sets, some as a extra but mostly in props and as a personal protection agent and set security. If I saw any mistreatment of animal's I got involved and stopped it. I'm a large man and I am licensed to carry, it never happened twice in my presence.
Drugs are societal problem.
So forcing a child to take drugs is just a-ok?
If someone believes denying sexual advances is off-limits in the film industry, you know you must support the victims like Rose McGowan, not the predators like Harvey Weinstein.
It wasn't just the women that were subjected to the casting couch. It's come out that a lot of men were subjected to the same thing, too.
@@jacklow9611so?
I remember back when A Dog’s Journey was still in production, a video circulated of the crew not exactly giving the pup the star treatment. It’s heartbreaking knowing this stuff still goes on.
And I don’t understand why production crews I sit on using real guns to make it more authentic.
How can you not love and cuddle the pup?
My problem would different.
They would be telling me to stop playing with the dog and start filming.
@@dhenderson1810 You might like this anecdote: There was a Kvarthal 95 (Ukrainian version of Saturday Night Live, basically) skit where the role of a kitten was played by a wig because one of the actors took the kitten out of it's cage to play with it.
The death of Natalie Wood could easily have been on this list.
It was pretty terrible what was done to her on quite a few occasions. She nearly drowned on-set when she was a preteen; that’s what led to her fear of dark water, her mother was a stage parent and of course her marriage to Robert Wagner wasn’t as happy as he wanted to claim it was. Her death was just awful and we’ll never truly know what happened that night
@@LucyLioness100Chris Walken knows what happened..
She didn't die on a movie set.
Thank you for the update, MsMojo..!! 8:08 I have not heard of that incident until today. That's terrible. May they rest in peace..
Oh no! This is so sad!... Those poor animals! 😢
Hollywood is something else man that is not a place I would want to visit I am not surprised by any of this it is really sad and terrible that they get away with this😢😢😢😭💔💔💔
Yeah money can get you out of anything. So they get away with it cause, they're Hollywood.
Number 7, they did what?! Oh my god
The first one I heard about is what Judy Garland went through in the movie The Wizard of Oz. Even for a dark fact that a munchkin actor killed himself by hanging during the scene “We’re Off to See The Wizard”
That munchkin hanging thing is not true. Debunked dozens of times.
That rumor has been debunked already, several years ago.
(edited to correct wordage)
Roman gets respect in Hollywood but He never gets arrested smh
Roman Polanski's never returned to the States. A few years ago, he was nominated for the Best Director Oscar at the Academy Awards (my apologies - I can't recall _which_ film it was for). Like the year Banksy was nominated for _Exit Through the Gift Shop,_ much of the media was focused on whether he would attend the ceremony and what would ensue if he did.
I hate him
@@giggles7179"The Pianist" is the movie he won the Oscar for.
Like I Always Said I Don't Trust Hollywood and It seems I've been justified again and again I don't enjoy bashing Hollywood but It's them not me It's bloody sad
"Connections to organized crime" shocked me the most. Have a happy friday night, Sophia. Take care and God bless you, and greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Taake care, man. (And get Frankered)
@@Smeck-gq1rj You're right, mistake corrected
@@samuelcollantes1175 Hope you have a fantastic daay.
The Twilight Zone Movie and The Crow were the movies that focused studios to take safety measures for their actors and crew members.
My thoughts to those who died and/or injured on set.
Those innocent children and he got away with it to. And what he said at their funerals.
@@brookelynnenewcomer943I don't know how he got away with it.
The very fact that he violated labour laws by having the children work at night could be seen as negligence or even manslaughter.
How is Woody Allen not #1 on this list??
It still amazes me that Landis got away with murder. And if Spielberg was on the set at the time and left, hr should be guilty if leaving the scene.
As a huge movie fan old Hollywood is something that I’m ashamed off of these things should never have happened. also talking about animals and I remember a few years ago when they were doing a dogs purpose wasn’t there footage of the dog struggling in water and it didn’t look like the cast were doing much to save it thankfully it was okay in the end
The twilight zone movie was my favorite movie now knowing this about the deaths now I can't see it the same way again😳
Connections to the mob. Guess that part in netflix miniseries Hollywood was right. Henry Willson asked a crim boss to beat up a reporter that would've destroyed Rock Hudson, before the film Meg was completed. In the show, no rl of course.
And yet there will ALWAYS be the "Casting Couch"
Because there are loopholes in laws that protect actors from sex trafficking.
What about the Roscoe "Fatty", Arbuckle scandal where false allegations were made against him and he was blacklisted by Hollywood.
Or the "McCarthy truajs" which unfairly implicated a bunch of Hollywood actors as communists and ruined their careers.
Most of these are not crimes in the legal sense but all of them are sad examples of the misuse of power-thankfully we have learned and there are less of this going on.
Au contraire, Scott.
It's way more prevalent than you want to believe. The problem is that they don't get caught. When they don't get caught, they don't end up in the news, where everyone can discover their sinister selves.
So don't believe the optimistic lies everyone else is telling you.
What shocked me the most was why the murder of William Desmond Taylor ONLY an honorable mention? And why wasn't this one of the top 10 picks if not the #1 pick?
I think because the deaths of children were involved in the top pick and it was on an actual film location. It was also multiple people who were killed.
This list all the more supports my view that fame anf fortune in Hollywood is never worth it
I knew precisely what would rank at #1 before I even clicked on the video. Both the production and the court case that followed will always be controversial, but I can think of few things worse to imagine than watching that carnage unfold on multiple cameras from the director's chair, knowing that your movie killed not only its star, but also two young children whose parents he would have to answer to.
I highly recommend the documentry called "Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It." Everybody must see it.
By the way, look at the lives of the "great" (male) authors of the world classics... They're disturbing as well.
Y’all forgot about Fatty Arbuckle and that murder
I don’t think he got away with it.
@@miaya.micronis I honestly forgot how this story went
@@miaya.micronishe was acquitted in court, but the fallout of Virginia’s death permanently damaged his career
@@101shadeiralong story short is actress Virginia Rappe died at a party held by Fatty Arbuckle. He was accused of killing her and there was implications it was for sexual assault purposes, but Arbuckle was acquitted. His career was forever damaged by the scandal
@@LucyLioness100 thanks I knew it was something like that
It says Top 10 Shocking Crimes That Hollywood Got Away With. Why did you say it with a different title?
Clickbait
People are upset about animal cruelty but people like Ozzy Osbourne and John Waters are beloved icons 🙄🙄🙄 Okay... I guess if you're gay or a crazed rocker it's fine.
The nuclear testing site actually wasn’t the reason those actors passed away. I meant it could attributed to their deaths a little, but many of them were smokers and such, which was more of the reason they passed away the way they did.
Yeah, the radioactivity just did a small part of aggravating the conditions they eventually got. Nearly every actor then was a heavy smoker; John Wayne of the “Conqueror” cast was the heaviest smoker followed closely by the director at 4-5 packs a day
@@LucyLioness100 Yeah and the fact the industry had pay advertisements for smoking just proves the industry had that issue so much actors and actresses were doing it like hard drugs. The radioactivity could have played a little part, but I swore the video I watched said it wasn’t as bad as people made it out to be where they filmed the film.
John Landis Should be in Jail!
Hollywood is a sick place
Duh. Acting is all about telling lies convincingly so how is this a surprise?
Luc Besson has gotten away with a lot of disgusting stuff. His second wife was FIFTEEN when they somehow were able to get married and he got her pregnant.
no matter what, contracts are always breakable!
Sophia as the narrator is quiet apt here, for that that name means "knowledge".
HOLLYWOOOOOOOOOD BABYLON!
Didn't Matthew Broderick kill someone in a drunk driving accident?
Yes he did in 1987 when he was in Ireland and he got away with it as well.He killed two people in a car crash
Not drunk, distracted. But he served no jail time.
No OJ? Come on!
Ha! These are only the very well known cases... what about the cases of stuntmen and actors that got injured or even died?! I'm sure there would be many such cases, but they got very well hidden...
You need to put chapter markers, I'd have liked to completely avoided the animal ones 😢
What about the death of Natalie Wood?
Shirley Temple was mistreated.
Just another confirmation of me telling my children that when they should go to the US, they will be disowned. It's just a lawless, godless wild situation
Yes, I can't believe ppl want to move here. Must only be b/c other countries are even worse which is extremely horrifying
some of these seem rehash from previous videos
All I have to say is this list is terribly wrong and I’m appalled
Narrator needs to speed up her tempo 20% or so. Talks too slow. Had to stop halfway through
Increase the playback speed. She still needs to pick up her pacing for sure, but I've gotten to where I watch most all videos on CZcams on at least 1.5-1.75x.
It’s VIC Morrow not Rick Morrow! At least get the names right.
🤨
People at Mojo - PLEASE learn how to pronounce people's names correctly! There is no director named Michael Curtis - it's Michael Curtiz - pronounced Curteeze. It you want to make $$ off of Hollywood, at least do your homework. All this does is make you seem silly and shallow.
If it's so offensive to you why are you watching it
I am surprised Alec Baldwin shooting his cinematographer isn't on the list.
That wasn't his fault. It was the armorer's fault for not checking the gun before she handed it to him. He didn't know it was loaded
@@cooperminion825 That's what was reported, but when you look at the details of the case. How the cast and crew were protesting him due to the unsafe environment, how he had in an argument with the the cinematographer and his prior history of violence and outbursts etc. There is far too much to suggest nefarious intentions on his side.
@@venceslavgeorgiev2295 people have arguments all the time. It doesn't mean that they always kill the person they argue with
@@cooperminion825 When the person who you argue with is well known for having a short temper and aggressive behaviour.
@@venceslavgeorgiev2295 there are plenty of people like that who get in arguments. What they don't do is murder someone a few hours after they argued. Plus, how was he supposed to know the gun was loaded?
Not Hollywood, but Spamming inappropriate content and Pornography all over CZcams.
Was this read by AI or something? Flat voice, wierd pronounciations... it sounds fake.
