    Excellent tour and ride! You really have a knack for this. And, listen to that Morgan purr.

    Hi James, I started watching the "America's Backroads" as I'm subscribed to your "Piano Forever" channel and I have really enjoyed seeing the Tennessee countryside. I'm from England and I see so many comparisons with the countryside here, just Tennessee is lush on a grander scale! I have been over to the USA several times, but I have never managed to get to Tennessee yet, having visited Pomona, LA, Vegas, New Jersey, Chicago on previous trips, which were connected to NHRA Drag Racing. It's great seeing the Morgan purring around the countryside too! Keep up the great work, I'm enjoying it a lot. Best Wishes, Mervyn

      So glad to have you along for the ride. We have a big surprise coming in the next 30 days that I really think you will enjoy. We have been trying to figure out just what this channel should be all about and I think we are getting a better understanding of where it is going after only about 3 weeks into the channel.

    Have fun with the SU carbs like my P1800 Volvo in the 70's. Cleaning the domes for smooth idle and keeping damper oil topped up. But even my Volvo always had its air filters on. Where did they go?

      When Mogan installed the larger Tr3 engine in a Morgan Plus 4 there was never enough room for air cleaners. You could buy a Morgan with a smaller engine with air cleaners. I have been told over the years that the English often ran engines without air cleaners even outside of Morgan design as well.

    What a wonderful video! I could feel myself right there walking with you through town. Thank you for keeping the video simple without music. I hope you keep the same style of video. Once again, what a wonderful experience! As a blind person, could somebody please describe to me what some of these buildings look like, the buildings from 17 and 1800s such as the courthouse?

    • @americasbackroadswithcharl7688
      @americasbackroadswithcharl7688  Před 3 lety +1

      I believe the courthouse is from 1903 and is made our of brick. Many of the other buildings are even older and most are made out of brick.

      The log cabin where Andrew Jackson lived for two years was very rustic with the original logs showing the wear the elements have provided with over 250 years of exposure. The inside from what I could see from the camera after seeing it on video showed a mostly empty building with wide plank floors that also seemed to be original. It was the nicest original 1700's log cabin I have ever seen by a very large margin.

I hope we meet some day. It was also good to see a glimpse of your dad, will you get him on camera so we can meet him?
