1. A local lad who I used to play football with every week last year, took his own life yesterday. He was one of the best players I have ever played with, a good looking lad who always seemed to be OK. You can never truly know what's going through somebodies mind. In the video I state that 50% of all revenue will go towards Samaritans charity to raise awareness for mental health - however, I will also share a small % of this with the lad's family. It's the least I can do

I know it's wishful thinking, but I want videos like his to be banned from uploading. Reading other peoples suicide notes is never going to be a positive thing. Want to raise awareness and show people what its really like? Do anything but that. One of my best friends took her life two days after Christmas, just over a week ago. I've struggled SO much with suicidal thoughts and attempts before. We were each others shoulders, we were always there for each other when it got too much, but I couldn't save her this time.

It is selfish but at the same time it isn't nice when you're in that position, especially if you're stuck on the actual train and you don't know how long for. She probably filmed herself in the midst of all of it and I think most people would find it frustrating even if they were more understanding. It definitely isn't anywhere near as bad as what this guy has done, although it was of course insensitive

My dad killed himself when I was 14, a week after I woke up with him sitting next to me on my bed with a pillow over his knees. He looked startled and blurted out he'd brought me an extra pillow. Bear in mind this gwas in my mum's house 6 months after they'd split up and to which he didn't have a key and wasn't welcome in. It took me 10 years to realise if I hadn't woken up then, he would've smothered me in my sleep, then my brother.
A few years later, I read a quote that said something like, "The father, by committing suicide, condemns his son to the same fate".
A few years after that, after a bad accident, my depression started. I've been suicidal for 14 years. The only thing stopping me is the fact that I experienced first-hand, how destructive and insidiously a suicide affects people. And not just immediate family, everyone who's ever known that person. It puts a tangible, real, concept into the brain of the hundreds of people affected that wouldn't have been there otherwise. It forces them to grapple with it and to try to come to terms not just with the singular act by the victim, but with the concept itself. And that's too much for some people.
I understand the quote I mentioned a lot better now. I will never escape the suicide of my father. His friends and more distant relatives may be able to, but not me. The man who helped create me nearly took me out with him, and suicide is the first thing I think of whenever I think of him, or whenever someone mentions their dad. Similarly, whenever someone mentions suicide, I think of my dad. They're eternally inextricably linked.
And that's why I'll never do it. I don't want to condemn the people I know to the same fate as me: to having suicide being so incredibly personal and visceral a word.
This guy profiting from the misery of others is a special kind of scum. Really, he is.

that's so kind of you both, i'm doing well in terms of my mental health right now (In spite of exam stress!!) but seeing shit like this makes me sick as people like him clearly have no idea what it's like to lose someone to suicide or to be family or friends of someone who is suicidal.
