    This editing possibility, specific to the korg PA 5 X, of its multi-pads should be at the same level on the Genos, and especially the latest Genos 2! What a shame to have to make a choice between the qualities and defects of these two excellent keyboards! the ideal would be a synthesis of the two, with the Yamaha registration system, and the editing power of the Korg - But we will surely have to wait a long time before such a miracle. Thank you for the video dear friend Qui!

      I can imagine, JMJ also works a lot with arpeggiators. I'm also still thinking about doing a tutorial how to use the Pa5X for berlin school type of music. And maybe I will create such a tutorial in the future if i see that people like those kind of tutorials.

    Super tutorial again Qui, as always! You make the PA5X shine. Thank you for all the effort you put in making these videos. I actually bought a PA5X because of your tutorials, and absolutely love it. It sounds so good and the operation is way better than previous Korg models. Maybe you can make a video on how to work with the sliders? They confuse me from time to time. Thanks and please keep up the great work!

    On my PA 1000 I used the kaoss pad to tighten up the bass And drums the whole rhythm section. It's a base disseminator I forget the name of it. But it tightens up the 🔊rhythm section. Then the vocal stand out more. You mean I mean, you can tighten them up like wow? The whole rhythm section tightens up. And you can't do that on this keyboard. Not without that kaoss pad of some sort. Then for the chorus of the song. I would remove the little x. Releasing the filter
    To let the base in the drums come out and the rhythm section. Just come right out like normal. That's what and you can't do that on this. I don't know how to do it on this. Aside from it would be hard. You'd have to almost go into the styles. And set it up like that it could be done. But sure would be easy if we just had the damn kaoss thing that they have I put it back into the pa5x

      1.2 update has weird things going on too one of them is sometimes when you're working on something it will freeze and make you either way or you'll have to do something else to get it to work numerous times. I've been trying to like solo stuff on a mixer and the thing freezes , won't let me do anything

    I find the explanations very helpful - thank you for that (because the KORG guys did not make it, why not?) - but sometimes too quick, and the 2. camera should follow more your fingers, which buttons you put down, it means another camera perspective of the 2. camera (above your head maybe?)

    @ashrafamad-ds8er Před rokem

    The issue with this is that it is not really an arpeggiator, it is more of chord recognition and repitching of pattern within the style chords transpose limit, and the proof is that it just works for one music scale, if you hit way higher in the keyboard you will still get the same shifting as if you have clicked below...

    • @ashrafamad-ds8er
      @ashrafamad-ds8er Před rokem

      if you have a solution for this limit, please suggest , it will be great if it works without a transpose limit to only one scale.

    Great. Can you control the knobs from the delays and others in live situation with an external controler . Like djay real Time mixing a set, wow, could be amazing of it’s possible.

    • @quirobinez
      @quirobinez  Před rokem +1

      absolutely, you can assign CC12 and CC13 to effects to control them, just add them as SRC for the parameter your want to assign to those control changes. You can also assign 2 faders in the user control panel on the left side (the faders) to CC12 and 13 then you can control them from your pa5x in realtime without an external midi controller. But of course you can also use them with external midi controllers.
      For instance you can route any sound through a distortion (and set that one to CC12) and then through a delay (assign it to CC13), then you have full control over the distortion and delay for that pad sound or style sound, that works also. And if you have another midi controller attached to it (I use the Behringer FCB-1010 footcontroller) then you can also assign other Control changes, like the cutoff, resonance, panning, volume level, etc. So when you want you can have a lot of control over your sounds. It's just a matter of assigning the controllers to the functions you want to control.
      I have that in my Pa5X and I use it a lot.

      Wow, thanks for your feedback, that's sound amazing the possibility of this machine. I didn't bought right now, in september normaly.
      Did you thought to open masterclass by webcam about this PA5x, sure you will be full, not free of course, think about. I know a musician in France who did that for Yamaha modx/montage/yc and it's great..don't know if you have time to do but can be successfull😉

  • @alanadee2514
    @alanadee2514 Před rokem

    I like your channel I like your tutorial's
    Do you ever mess around with vocal effects that shift audio
    I am guessing that you know more about that thing that I could ever I've been trying to get the vocals inside of the pa5x to work cleanly and good effects.,
    When I turn on the auto-tune or a tune
    It seems to be like
    Sometimes it's hard to use, I know all the times. And the background voices from notes or Harmony the backgrounds vocals are distorted

    • @quirobinez
      @quirobinez  Před rokem

      The vocal system works rather differently than on previous models, For instance for vocoders you have to set it up in a specific way, and for the autotune and harmony you need to do the same.
      Here is how to do it for the vocoder feature:
      - press the settings button
      - press the menu button
      - press the mic setup tile
      - in voice settings section you see a checkbox called mute , set that to on (you don't want to hear your own voice, but only the vocoder effect, which is a different effect than for instance the 'queen' harmony choir mode preset in the vocal section)
      Now select one of the vocoder presets in the factory strings category the last entries are the vocoder ones
      - Now you have to disable the vocal FX processors of the main page, because you only want to use the vocoder here is how to do it:
      - press the main button
      - set the view button to the sliders
      - on switch 1 you see Mic, this has to be set to ON
      - on switch 3 you see the MicFx , set this to OFF to disable your harmony processors and reverbs and delays and your own voice
      Now play chords with the upper 1 sound and sing along with that vocoder voice.
      You can modify a lot (like the synth carrier, or the routings in your Master FX, or even add talkbox type of effects on top of it, if you are a really advanced user). So this is just a quick setup of the vocoder and you can program it in master FX 2 which is routed to your mic and the FX control 1 section and the upper 1 as the modulator.
      Now for autotune and harmony just set switch 3 to ON and then the vocal harmony system works as intended

    Also when I turn on the chord sequencer, the lower keyboard shuts off, and the button on the lower keyboard shuts off too, I don't know if that's normal, and I can't figure a way to put the court sequencer on and have the lower keyboard stay in play mode because when I use A chord sequencer
    I like to add parts to it while the sequencer is playing for me
