  • Tonight we look at the Nymphes 6 voice polyphonic synth from Dreadbox. There is also a small discussion about beer!

    Love Gaz, first battle is fought with the streaming auks, then battles the Nymphes submenu demons. Gives up and then gets pissed on warm lager. Then goes back to the Nymphes and knocks it out of the park with a mangled Bossanova monster. As Gaz says it’s not Loopop folks! ❤❤❤

    Just mapped and renamed the all Nymphes’s CCs in the MPC. Now I can see and control all parameters from there and choose what 16 parameters to assign to the Q-link faders. A way to get around the shift and menu operation.

    I'm thinking about getting a second one...just so I can layer the two and (as you pointed out) create some stereo it doesn't possess. Yeah, the menu system can be a bit daunting initially, but muscle memory kicks in and interaction becomes fairly easy. It's seriously easier to create mods than on my Dave Smith Mopho x4, and I love the fade in AND fade out (not as common of a feature). The programmable parameters really make it a super expressive and playable synth, better in some ways than my Prophet 6.

    Honestly Gaz : Nymphes, Pro800, deepmind ? Which one is your first choice?

    • @GazWilliams
      @GazWilliams  Před 11 měsíci

      All three extremely different from each other. All have different pros and cons. Which do you prefer the sound of?

      @@GazWilliams i had a deepmind but quite disappointed by the sound. I did not keep it. I am not very impressed by the pro 800 demo... As a Typhon addict, I love the nymphes sound but a little bit afraid of the UI.

      @@galifettetv1238 I have the Typhon and one off these and they complete each other. The interface is easy after awhile...

      Those look like Hifiman Sundaras. I have a pair and they are excellent. Some of the best value in open backs. Buy with a warranty, though, as they have a reputation of falling apart.

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 Před 11 měsíci

      And top of being a little fail-tastic, Hifiman won't repair any of their planars or sell spare parts if you need to service your device outside of warranty. They only offer a full replacement, just a brand new, complete headphone.
      Tells you just how cheaply produced they must be. I'm not against them making a profit, but can't they produce sturdier products for the asking price? Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic sure do if you aren't going too cheap. Audio-technica and AKG sometimes do, sometimes don't. KRK makes durable monitors, too. Inexcusable.
