  • Its finally time! I've traded in every bike and sold every body part for the new Insurgent MX. I'll take you through the build and first ride impressions.
    The mullet wheel setup may just be the future. At least for me. I could not pick out any negatives from having the 29 inch wheel up front. The wheel size was out of mind right away on my first run down, and I immediately noticed the benefits in grip and roll over.
    I feel like this bike really compliments my riding style and needs. I can't wait to rip this bad boy this season and really get grooved in.

    Good job installing the Ride Wrap while the bike is new and clean. Too many people are impatient and just want to ride that they don't do this and their bike gets scratched up.

      Thanks so much! I had to do it right with this one. It added a whole extra day to wait on, but already worth it.

    hey buddy, nice video, i am about to buy this bike and i dont know what size i should take, S or M, i am 170cm tall(5.6ft) and 15 years old and i am still growing. And should i take the gx build for 6000 or the xo1 build? I am about to race enduroraces and my riding style got allot more aggressive so i need a better bike than my 2018 scott genius. nice channel, keep going

      Hey man. I will definitely go with the medium to get you further, and that will still perform better when it comes time to race. As for the spec, GX is great for just about everything you need it for. Personally, if you don’t need the high-end shifters or the Hydro hub, then I would just save the money and go GX. Good luck

    Great video and review. Wonder if you have done some long climbs on it. If so how is it?

    I bought one in December and it is sitting at home waiting for me to return back from deployment. Can't wait to ride it.
    How have you been liking it since posting?

      Still the most fun and capable bike I’ve owned. I used to have a V10 and this feels more confidant downhill but can still lockout and climb

    I'm considering this bike, upgrading from a 2014 Trek Slash 8 medium. How much difference in ride would that be? you said you went from a XL Trek to a medium, how tall are you? I'm 5 9' or 177cm.

  • @erod6468
    @erod6468 Před 2 lety +1

    How tall are you? I'm 5'7, just trying to choose between small or medium. Thanks in advance.

    • @porckitchens
      @porckitchens  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey. I’m 5’10. I love the medium for me as it’s on the small side which make the bike really fun. My previous Trek was longer in the reach and shorter in stack and with this bike I don’t feel like I’ve sacrificed any stability for the size.

      Ended up getting a small mx from summit. The X01 build. Looked at the spec sheet and everything was good. When I got the bike, it didn't have the hydra hubs and I9 wheels. Came with some Sun ringle wheels and crap hubs. They screwed me over by saying to refer to the bottom where the * is at and it says subject to change without notice. At least let a brotha know it will not bring the hydras/I9's. No way of knowing. Luckily I got it on clearance sale for $6700 and I'm selling the wheels, bought a hydra custom wheel set from spokeX, waiting for them to finish them and send them out to me. Stay up G.

      @@erod6468 what!? No way. I understand part shortages but that’s dirty for a shop to not have transparency about it.

      @@porckitchens for reals. Anyway, lesson earned and will always call any shop to verify all the facts and what is what. Called Evil and even the guy was like yeah, that's bs. He called their sales rep and got back to me and said it was out of their control and it's all up to summit if they could work anything out with me. Summit offered me %15 off my next purchase. Lmao!

    Are you running the 400lbs spring?

    • @porckitchens
      @porckitchens  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I was on the 400lb. I’ve since moved to the 425 by Super Alloy.

    • @yannoswik
      @yannoswik Před 10 měsíci

      Cool thanks, I didn't know about Super alloy - now I do and I have to get one! I have the same bike and the 400 feels a little soft at 185lbs rider weight, though sag seems to be at 29%. I got a 450 which feels a little too stiff at 24% sag. Do you know how much sag the 425 gets you?@@porckitchens

    • @porckitchens
      @porckitchens  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@yannoswik that’s what I love about Super Alloy is they have smaller increments. Our riding weight is different but the 425 Get me at 25-26% which livens true bike up the way I like it but still has plenty of kush for the big hits.
