Our patient Ricky had an FUE procedure where we harvested his facial hair to implant into his crown area almost 2 years ago. Ricky came into the office to do an update to our CZcams video on his procedure. He is thrilled with his results and how well he has been able to maintain the hair after two years!

All of our patients are educated about the use of medications prior to hair transplantation as the presence of DHT could cause further hair loss.

If he wanted more beard hairs in the crown could he still get it done ?

Generally, a patient can move around 1200 - 2000 grafts from their beard into the scalp. However, each patient's case is unique and may be able to have more or less than the average. Two procedures may also be necessary based upon the donor hair. Our patient Ricky may be able to have an additional procedure completed, it which would require another consultation.

Is there a way to count the donor area hair? Like after I conduct surgery and years later I want to do another one, can we go back and count how many hairs available without relying on what was used for surgery ?

That would be an approximate number and need to be done in person with an experienced hair transplant surgeon.
