Doing a manual swap on an AU was the shittiest job I've ever done in my life. Really woke the car up afterwards though! I was on my P's at the time and it honestly made me question how it was P plate legal
it made you question if it was p plate legal, its an au they not all that great
@@chewybong1013 A manual AU with a 3:45 diff ratio has a bit of grunt mate. Chuck some poly bushes in it and give it stiffer springs, you've got yourself a really fun daily driver

did a manual swap in my old EF ghia that had the tickford motor and the 3.45 lsd.. yes she sure went good after that.. plenty quick enough to get yourself in trouble especially with a tight LSD..
swap wasnt that hard really, if u have had to swap the auto box before that is not a fun job when the car is on jackstands..
Try doing a manual conversion on a bf xr6 😂 even bigger pain in the ass, I’ve done 5 AU falcons and 2 B series falcons, I rather do AUs

Looks like your rear welsh plug is leaking too! I'd be changing that 100% while you've got it apart.
looks like you had a struggle fitting the flywheel thats because the bolts only line up 1 of 8 ways i had that issue when i manual swapped my ba and sohc bottom ends are exactly the same just give it another go and make sure you see if the flywheel fits any other way
this man! glad i sussed if anyone had said it yet.... but yer the flyweels always a cunt like a game of russian roulette trying to line it up without dropping it on your head hahahah. and for some reason you seem to always start one off and have to spin it a few times befor you find the right pattern
Top job guys, it kinda makes me sad, as when I was 16yo and had my 4 AU falcons (1 wagon with xr6 running gear and front end, a xr6 sedan with full options a AU3 pursuit ute with the 5.6L winsdor stroker motor and a standard 6cyl ute as my work ute), everyone was hating them so much, but now a lot are appreciating them

Good to see videos like this of people giving anything a crack, I also did a manual conversion for the first time before I put the barra in, also fun fact an ef el diff will bolt straight in and will allow wider wheels to fit on the rear

@@RexH yo ya need to spin the flywheel around multiple times and the bolts will eventually line up. there all off set holes. also put flywheel on clutch split bellhousing from the gear box with the 4 bolts way easyer to put it back together
pedals are easy to fit undo the 2 bolts on the coloum theres a 10mm nut at the end of the coloum where it meets the fire wall pull it out undo brake booster ans unclip the dash loom and they should be out
u can tell its been one of those jobs when Rex starts speaking propa Australian
