I think the reason for the articulation for the head is to help with getting him in the Batmobile
Aside from the gray canopy and the gold wheels, that gloss look for the Flash version could double for the Batman Returns version with a few touch ups. In the '89 film it was an invented color called Flip-flop. In Returns it appeared to be a gloss black.

Its a damn shame McFarlane didnt mass produce this. Shouldn't been a exclusive. As soon as it went up for sale i ordered and it said out of stock.

The cowl is fine. Dark Knight's cowl has shorter and wider bat ears, and more lines on the neck, and the Dark Knight cowl has a much smaller opening on the mouth. The head just moves around, which if that bothers you, just keep the head looking forward. It doesn't really bother me since all the 89 toys were like that back in the day.
For me I'm looking more forward to the Batmobile. I missed out on the Flash Batmobile. I'll be getting this Batman anyway in the 6-pack.

The gloss on the Hot Toys one is fine. Look at some pics if you forgot. The problem with the Flash Batmobile is it was way too much gloss, to the point where you could see your reflection. This one is too matte, and the Hot Toys has that perfect balance. On 2nd market right now it's going for like $120. So the scalpers are calming down a bit.

I put my NECA Batman from Batman Begins in the McFarlane Tumbler and it looks amazing!
The neca version cowl being a singular piece is what makes it. This Batman while cool looks like a stunt Batman from the old six flags stunt show 😂.

i think the neca one looks like the keaton in the movie, the mcfarlane one looks like keaton skin in tha arkham knight game
I managed to snag one for 25$ great deal. The competition for trying to get a 1989 batwing is downright cut throat i hope one day that toy gets remade as well.
Man!!! That 89 emblem is GOLD!!! How could they mess that up? 89 Keaton suit has yellow emblem with a gold belt! It’s painted correctly on the Movie 6 Pack!!!

Dang first time ordering a combo like this and I was hoping the Batman came in it’s own proper box. Right now it’s easier for me to display the figures by hanging em on the wall in box. And the cowl is bugging me. Almost thinking about canceling mine but I know I’d regret it later anyway😂
I like them both. And both batmans . Crazy how hard it was to get either 😕 but I'm glad I managed to. 😌

To that i say....im not so sure. I garentee he demanded the figures head to swivel so he could look both ways out of the huge batmobile window.which is why they made it so god awful huge and ugly......because todd said the figure has to be able to see out. Mcfarlane toys motto...."EHH ...GOOD ENOUGH THEY WILL BY IT"😅
1:11 the difference is that one has the yellow logo and the other has a gold metallic logo
I like the batman figure for this , my neca batman broke when i took him out of the package for display. They had to make a cowl with smaller ears for the 89 movie cause of the canopy. My favorite 89 batman is the 1/4 scale I got on bbts..I mean it scales with nothing but my kitten but still looks great lol
The 1989 mezco Batman will go perfect with this which I have. And I preordered this set which will arrive by end of this month.

Car's ok. Not an absolute. The Batman is not too bad. A cape must be added. Not a great set, but ok. I will get the figure though.

I ordered 2 sets on ebay at scalper price..the first one tells me it was delayed without a date to give to me.. I begin to be a little bored of this hobby if even when you want to give your money to brand..they doesn't want to get it because of exclusive or limited quantities on figures everybody want to get

My Amazon preorder has also been delayed with no updated delivery date. Just trying to secure a preorder was a frustrating ordeal when they suddenly opened preorders with such very short notice and how it kept repeatedly selling out. Now I'm left in limbo wondering if I'll be getting one at all. 😤

I really wanted this, but just like all other Amazon exclusives, not sold outside the US.....very frustrating. So i ended up buying a Jada Toys 1:32 Batmobile.

I just got mine in the mail today! Love the Batmobile.....I do wish Batman had a stiff neck though. Other than that the figure is nice

@@Raphaelcejaman have you taken the head off the unmasked flash Keaton? It looks cool on the 89 figure. I also think you can take the flash masked Keaton and modify the new 89 figure. I just hate modifying any toys in general

The gold emblem is probably intentional so it is different from the movie version. Marketing strategy, you'll buy both if you're a completionist.

Wasnt able to get the 2nd one as it sold out so fast. Now amazon sellers have doubked the price. Screw mcfarlane and screw pre-ordering.....paying immediately...then waiting months for the product. These days toy collecting sucks. Glad you got one. I got the previous one and im glad i got it.

@@Raphaelcejaman i emailed both McFarlane toys and Amazon asking if it's supposed to be included, if not this is I think the first dc multiverse release without a card!... you cant take 3 steps in my apartment without slipping on one of those damn cards because I could care less about them but now that it's not in the box I'm kinda bumbed!

I think that neca is best with nailing the 7 inch Michael Keaton Batman figure neca is the best IMO
I think he did a great job with the price point and tooling. For 70 bucks this is a steal with endless custom possibilities. I love the idea of the original cowl; however, I love the range of motion on this head sculpt.
The Batmobile is amazing but the 89 Batman figure looks fine. The NECA Batman figure was a much better figure.
The NECA '89 Batman does look dated but it's more accurate like you say. It's supposed to look dated because that Batman suit is dated. We like it because Batman '89 was a great film and Michael Keaton was a great Batman.

This release of the 1989 Batmobile was ridiculously rushed for no reason. McFarlane screwed up with the Canopy design, one seat and glossy color. Then he releases it again with matte color (great) but still didn't fix the Canopy and still one seater. I wouldn't be surprised if he releases it again with the correct canopy size, two seaters and led lights for the headlights and taillights.
This was an improvement?! Lol. Nah. I don't agree on the paint job being "better" on the Batmobile. I don't think it's necessarily painted at all, really. It looks like it's just the plastic. The matte look is okay at best, but the '89 Batmobile had more if a semi-gloss finish. On this it looks kind of runny in areas and it feels so cheap and wrong in many, many ways. I really don't like the bat symbol on the bottom.
It just feels so much like one of those cheaper, "kid-friendly" versions you get at Wal-Mart. I really had higher hopes for something coming from McFarlane and their "Gold Label". I feel a bit bamboozled by it. I will say that I like that the canopy actually slides forward. But, it feels clumbsy, still.
The figure is fine. But, yeah, it's still wrong. The head sculpt throws it all off. And it really doesn't look like Michael Keaton, even though it's a nice looking figure. And I don't like that they just put it in a simple plastic bag. Isn't this for collectors? Really, why not a fitted, plastic carton?
Makes me pine for the days of the Kenner toys, the Dark Knight Collection from back in the day, was so much better. Even with the stickers, it had a better look and feel. My brother loved his Batmobile so much he put Armorall on it! 😂 That actually might be the thing to do with this. That and replacing the lights on it might make me feel a little better about it.
My Amazon order got delayed indefinitely. I'm pretty sure they cancelled my preorder. This is the reason why I have pretty much stopped collecting. It's not even fun anymore. McFarlane will never get a cent from me. At least my wallet likes my stubbornness. Be well everyone.

I started collecting a few years ago but I've collected other things before. I've personally decided to revert back to collecting knives and guns and have largely left figures.

Lol having a Hot Toys Batmobile, you don't need this thing haha the canopy on this version is from the flash. It's so inaccurate it's crazy. I'll be looking to modify it
Flash Batmobile was too glossy, this one looks too flat, almost like a black primer! But at least the canopy isn’t GREY!!!!

Neca still have the best batman figure, mezco almost done, but the michael keaton's mouth is very particular and the other brands just done some kind of regular male mouths. Neca nailed it, and I don't think it's dated.
I personally think the NECA one is terrible. The articulation is awful, the cape is extremely cheap, and he has too much rubbery bits.

They should have kept the rims black and then just have the bat symbols done in silver instead of gold. I don't like the rest of the rim being silver. They still ended up doing it wrong. If it weren't for the grey canopy, I'd probably prefer the first release. I'm not digging the head and neck on the '89 figure. I actually prefer the Neca version. The Flash Movie version came out ok but they did this version wrong and we've had better versions previously. People went mad over this Amazon exclusive. There was really no need, I didn't. It was dirty practice but as it turns out, when you look at both versions, does it really matter which one you get? There's not a lot in it really. How on earth did the Jada Toys version of this Batmobile turn out better than both McFarlane versions? Some of these McFarlane products are nice to have but highly overrated.

Mcfarlane needs to wise the hell up about how pre orders should work........give a certain amount of time,a day,week etc. When deadlines over you know how damn many to make. Not creat artificial scarcety like a crook
