I can guarantee all watching that this bed is better finished than any shop bought!
That’s how I got the sale! Haha everything they looked at in stores wasn’t up to their standards
@@JohnBuildsIt right... I mean it is great finish without specialised painting room. I love it man. Begging you for a detailed video on it if you don’t mind :)
Thanks for building this bed for us John! Not only is it gorgeous, it is very solid and very well built! Great job as usual! I absolutely love it! 🥰
I wish you would do beginner classes and teach all about setting up a workshop and what tools to purchase.
I actually bought stuff I saw in his videos. Different brands to accommodate my budget and sized differently cause my workshop is 50m2. Just started like 3 weeks ago, just doing what he does here :)
Top job and a great tip for painting using the two screws to allow the boards to be painted all over without any marks.
Always helpful to save a lot of waiting time!
I loved this. Building a bed right now but usung a different design. I probably will buy this plan.
John I need the full size plans
I love the bed it came out fantastic
Dis paint.... man make a dedicated video on how to paint like a pro... really needs it :)
Just now finishing my bed frame from your plans, wife loves it! Now on to the chest of drawers and nightstands. Thanks John great work!
Awesome!!
You are a true craftsman...nice job John!
Thank you!
Finally! Found a bed frame that my wife likes, more than anything she has seen in a store. Thank you so much! Nice set of plans and good video so I'll be able to get started on this shortly.
Awesome, enjoy the build!
Usually not a fan of white furniture, but wow you made that thing look good. That grey stain really sets it off
Looks great, nice and clean. Love the cove and taper, gonna have to keep that in mind for future projects. I think it would work well for a dresser or bench too if the legs are long enough. Well done!
Wow! Beautiful! I will definitely build this in King size. Love the taper!
A really nice project. The spray finish turned out great. 👍😎🇦🇺
Thank you!
Covetable. Especially your skill. I have not found a calm craftsman like you in Johannesburg.
Thanks for watching!!
Looks gorgeous. Love the tapered legs as well.
Thank you! 👍🏽
This video was incredibly well done which made it very enjoyable to watch.
Thank you very much for posting your bed turned out phenomenal.
Thanks a lot! 🙌🏼
Best bed build on CZcams.
Brilliant well done.
Thank you!!
Wow 😳😳 Wish I would have seen this video before buying a bed. Amazing job on the build. Definitely worth subscribing.👍👍
Thank you!!
So beautiful! Can’t wait to see the other pieces!
🙌🏼🙌🏼
John really love your work bro. Looks amazing!!!
Thank you! 🙌🏼
Great build! Very approachable and i loved the forethought of the grooves. Before I saw it come together I could have sworn it was actually tongue and groove boards.
Thank you!!
Thanks for making these plans available!
You got it! 👊🏼
Looks great! The taper with the cover is a very nice. Also, the Mirka gold sandpaper is the best I’ve used. Once I found that sample pack on Amazon, I was sold.
Good price on it too! Now I just need one of their sanders haha
Been waiting for this video to come out ! Been following along on Instagram. Thanks John , excellent work as always.
Thank you!!
Very nice build. I think this has given me all the ideas I need for a slightly smaller than queen sized bed. Thank you. Also, many thanks for using bed rail clamps instead of pocket screwing everything 😂
Haha thanks for watching!!
Excellent project my friend, gorgeous bed.
Thank you!!
That's beautiful! I'm going to change it up just a little, but I'll build my next bed much like this one. Thanks!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful your job... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!
Very nice looking bed.
Good job.
Thanks!
Love the project. Also, love the saw. I bought one last fall and I love it. A little update for your cross pieces, to make it easier to slide this bed, is to add a piece on your crossmembers. This would reinforce them and remove the legs.
Excellent! Thanks for posting...mineral spirit slip coat, I’ll give that a try!
Only way I’ve had success with the product really 👍🏽
@@JohnBuildsIt I agree...The shop where I work is the GF retailer for the area. We’ve had several discussions about the difficulty of working with this product.
Excellent work as usual, can’t wait for the rest of the suite!
Thanks man!
Great project and nicely explained. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! 👍🏽
Another amazing build as always!! Beautiful bed and looks like a fun project
Thanks man!
This bed is beautiful!!
Thank you!!
Amazing work. I love the taper legs. Your videos are wonderful and a joy to watch. Keep them coming
Thank you!!
I might have to build one of these! The wife and I have broken the last 3 beds we have owned. This one looks a bit tougher! It might be able to withstand some movement.
I'm just discovering your channel and your videos are awesome. I'm going to try this build with a twin size while adding drawers on the sides for my daughter.
Awesome! Thanks for watching
Woow this is beautiful.
Thanks!!
What an awesome bed been wanting to make one for my daughter and this one would be great
Thanks for watching man!
Awesome Job!
Thanks! 👍🏽
So much nicer than everything we looked at Great job 👊🏻
👊🏼👊🏼
Hey John this is really well made. Great work!
Thanks! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great looking project! Loved it!
Thanks Bill!
Beautiful job. 👍
Wow sir great job! I may have to get the plans for that!
Thank you!!
Great job. Thanks for sharing 🤗
Thank you! 🙌🏼
I am using the leg trick... Great build!
Great little added detail!
Very Professionally done Sir! Love watching your build...
Thank you!!
Been watching your builds since the flags…you’ve come a long way in a short period of time. Great designs, and great content. Keep ‘em coming!!
Thanks!!
Great work
Thank you!!
Excellent work, man. And great video!
Thank you!!
Wow that turned out great. Nice job
Thank you!!
Amazing work and skills. 👏 👏 👏
I appreciate it!
Excellent build. Thanks for the video.
Thank you!
I'm seeing an upscale cottage vibe--versatile design--that I prefer. You've inspired a plan for a pair of square planter boxes in this style (maybe, a bit under the height of your footboard). Recent garden preps got me behind on my vids views 😕.
That sounds nice!!
Turned out great
Thank you!
Dude you have next level talent!
Haha thanks man!
Beautiful John 😊
Thank you!
Awesome maan.....really appreciate ur videos
Thanks for watching!
Nice job. Not to difficult but still requires some know how.
I just found your channel and love your bedroom set. I showed to my wife and she loved it as well. The only thing we are trying to decide is if we are going to stick with the grey or go with black walnut tops. Great work!!!
Love the walnut look too!
Beautiful build sir...as always! Just bought your plans for the king bed. Not sure when I'll get to it but I can't wait. Turned out amazing!
Awesome, I appreciate it!
Great job. Well executed 👌
Thanks a lot!
That’s gorgeous!
Thank you!!
Awesome design and great build.
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Well, I watched this video, three times then bought the plans. Brilliant!
Working in inches made my brain hurt a little as I’m in the UK 😂
Haha sorry about that! I need to make metric versions too, but then it’d be my head that is hurting😂
@@JohnBuildsIt actually, because my eyes ain’t what they used to be, I found working in 1/8ths and 16ths easier to read on the tape measure 😁
Very nice!
Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼
I Love it. You did a great job.
I appreciate it!
I like using the Mika paper too. Lasts a long time.
For sure! 👍🏽
amazing work 👌🏻
Thank you! 🙌🏼
Great video man
Fantastic job
Thanks man!
That looks really great, John! I'm beginning to really like the look of contrasting solid wood / white finishes. I built a free-standing kitchen cabinet a few years ago with a similar look - finished with a white base, solid Walnut top and black hardware and it came out awesome. It'd be great to build everything out of beautiful solid wood but it's just cost prohibitive for many people. Can't wait to see the rest of the pieces in the series!
Did you do anything to finish off the bottom of the headboard like edge banding or just paint over the exposed sandwich of plywood and MDF? Certainly not necessary for the footboard since it's so low but depending on mattress height, I could see how the bottom of the HB could be exposed while lying in bed.
No I didn’t do anything to cover it. With the box spring, the mattress comes a few inches up on the panel so it can’t be seen 👍🏽 thanks for watching!
phenomenal....I love this!
Thank you!
Beautiful!!!!
Thank you!!
Very nice build! Great job as always!
Thank you!
The best👏👍
It's not the style of beds we have here in Germany, but I like it.
Pretty job...nice bed..
Thanks!!
Great work as always mate 👌
I appreciate it!
thanks this is an awesome video, I am making a canopy bed with a carved lion head. i fleshed it out in 3D first and how the pieces will fit together.. still lots of work to be done.. also i want to put LED lighting... :) man it's exciting! 😍
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Really nice build!!
Thank you!!
Well done. Not sure if you’re newer or what, but the number of subs seems low for the quality of video you’re putting out.
I appreciate it! 👍🏽
Totally agree - was just thinking the same thing. He's like a younger version of Jon Peters! :-)
Wow... nice job...
Thanks!
well done
Thank you!
Not entirely sure how stable this bed will be against rocking movements..
Doesn’t move any direction 👍🏽
You could always put some wheels on it. Then, it would just roll back and forth!
Switch to a PIN Nailer...you will wonder why you didn't do it before. The holes won't even hardly show. So much easier in finish work 🙌👍
I have one haha just try to avoid the air compressor in videos. Waiting for Milwaukee to release the new cordless one!
What a really nice piece of furniture. Nice simple design with a classic look. I'm going to give it a try.
One thing, how long in total time did it take from start to finish? And approx how much did it cost you?
I really don’t remember at this point, sorry!!
Dang that’s nice
Thank you!
Very nice
Thanks for watching! 👍🏽
I'm from Brazil and I bought one of the projects in your store, I had difficulty converting the measurements to the metric system in (millimeters). I thought the project was very complete and I was very happy with the purchase, it would be very nice if you put up a project with the metric system (millimeters) for sale. Thank you very much for your work.
I appreciate that! I actually think you’re the first person that has asked for metric haha! But maybe I would get more sales if I offered both. I’ll try to in the future
nice job!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome build man! Love your videos! One question- why not run a stretcher from front to back to support the slats in the middle instead of adding the 2x2's? My only thought was those might get in the way if you wanted to store anything underneath.
Hmm I’ve never seen one like that haha but I’m liking the sound of it! 👍🏽
That is really nice! Is this a build for new guy?
Where can I get the pull out work bench you have. I really need that for my shop. Btw I purchased your night stand plans a few months. Nightstands and now complete and I absolutely love it. I’m working on the bed frame now. Thanks man. Your awesome
The bora centipedes? There’s an Amazon link in the video description 👍🏽
Excellent Build. I showed my wife and bought the plans as we are upgrading to a King Size Bed. Just curious, what type of wood did you use for the 2 1/2 Square Stock? I was thinking of using poplar to build the legs, but would like your insights on what you found to work the best. Thanks again! Love your channel!
I used poplar. Maple or poplar for anything painted 👍🏽
Great project and build! One question: what did you do with the bottom of the headboard, the raw plywood edge with the mdf? Left it as-is and painted?
Bondo and paint
I'm going to buy your plans and build two of them for my kids. I think I can modify your plans for a twin size
Nice! I was thinking the same thing for my daughter when it’s time
