The Dream Journey - Discovering musicians across Pakistan (A Non Profit Project)
An exhilarating journey of six friends with a shared passion for discovering and recording musicians in their living environments. This project will be the sharing of a special experience in which we hope you will want to participate.
Some of the musicians are established and famous, others are among the brilliant budding talent that adorns Pakistan’s musical scene. Each of the mehfils has a distinct atmosphere and mood, but there is a common thread. We asked each of the musicians to stay close to their respective inherited musical traditions, allowing the singers an opportunity to present some pieces that are rarely heard today.
We are inspired to present the brilliance of this contemporary Pakistani vocal music to a wider audience and seek your financial assistance in making this possible.

Dillam Paz Murda Aawara Ze Isyaa, Ya Rasulallah!
یا رسول اللہ آپ کی جدائی میں میرا جسم بے کار اور جاں پارہ پارہ ہو گئی ہے
گناہوں کی وجہ سے دل نیم مردہ اور آورہ ہو گیا ہے
My body is dissolving in your separation And my soul is breaking into pieces, Ya Rasulallah!
Due to my sins, My heart is weak and becoming enticed, Ya Rasulallah!
چوں سوئے من گذر آری ، منِ مسکیں زِ ناداری
فدائے نقشِ نعلینت ، کنم جاں ، یا رسول اللہ
Choon Soo’e Mun Guzar Aari Manne Miskeen Zanaa Daari
Fida-E-Naqsh-E-Nalainat Kunam Ja, Ya Rasulallah!
یا رسول اللہ اگر کبھی آپ میرے جانب قدم رنجہ فرمائیں تو میں غریب و ناتواں
آپ کی جوتیوں کے نشان پر جان قربان کر دوں
When you pass by me Then even in my immense poverty, ecstatically,
I must sacrifice my soul on the impression of your Blessed Sandal, Ya Rasulallah!
ز جام حب تو مستم ، با زنجیر تو دل بستم
ںا می گویم کہ من بستم سخن دا، یا رسول اللہ
Ze Jaame Hubb To Mustam Ba Zanjeere To Dil Bustam
Nu’mi Goyam Ke Mun Hustum Sukhun Daan, Ya Rasulallah!
آپ کی محبت کا جام پی چکا ہوں،آپ کی عشق کی زنجیر میں بندھا ہوں
پھربھی میں نہیں کہتا کہ عشق کی زبان سےشناسا ہوں ، یا رسول اللہ
I am drowned in the taste of your love And the chain of your love binds my heart.
Yet I don’t say that I know this language (of love), Ya Rasulallah!
زِ کردہ خویش حیرانم ، سیہ شُد روزِ عصیانم
پشیمانم، پشیمانم ، پشیماں ، یا رسول اللہ
Ze Kharda Khaish Hairaanam Siyaa Shud Roze Isyaanam
Pashemaanam, Pashemaanam, Pashemaanam, Ya Rasulallah!
میں اپنے کیے پر حیران ہوں اور گناہوں سے سیاہ ہو چکا ہوں
پشیمانی اور شرمند گی سے پانی پانی ہو رہا ہوں ،یا رسول اللہ
I am worried due to my misdeeds; And I feel that my sins have blackened my heart, Ya Rasulallah!

چوں بازوئے شفاعت را ، کُشائی بر گنہ گاراں
مکُن محروم جامی را ، درا آں ، یا رسول اللہ
Choon Baazoo’e Shafaa’at Raa Khushaa’I Bar Gunaagara
Makun Mahruume Jaami Raa Daraa Aan, Ya Rasulallah!
روز محشر جب آپ شفاعت کا بازو گناہ گاروں کے لیے کھولیں گیں
یا رسول اللہ اُس وقت جامی کو محروم نہ رکھیے گا
Ya Rasulallah! When you raise your hands to intercede for the sinners,
Then do not deprive Jami of your exalted intercession.

‘Tanam Farsooda Jaan Para’ is a very famous Persian naat [poem in the praise of the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم] by 15th Century
great Islamic scholar and mystic poet, Maulana Abdur Rahman Jami. It is said that when Maulana Abdur Rahman
Jami planned to go to Madina after performing Hajj in Makkah, that night the Governor of Makkah saw Prophet
Mohammadصلى الله عليه وسلم in his dream and he told the Governor that ‘a man from Persia whose name was Jami was planning to
go to Madina. The Governor should try and stop him and if he asks why then give him my message that if he recites
the Nasheed [naat] he has in his pocket on my mausoleum, then I would have to break the rules of Shariah and take
out my hand to shake hands with him. I will meet him in Persia. Tell him to read Darood Shareef 100 times and his
Nasheed 11 times on Thursday and I will visit him in his dream.’ When Jami heard this from the Governor, he turned
back to Persia and acted according to the directions given by the Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم . As a reward, he was blessed with the
Ziyarat [to see Prophet Mohammadصلى الله عليه وسلم in dream] all his life. That is why a fragrant smell emanated from his body on
every Friday. This was due to the blessed Ziyarat of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. May Allah bless us too with the Ziyarat of Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم.

کبھی خواب میں ہی اپنا جلوه دکھا دیجیے اس عاجز،غریب و مسکین سائل کو
تو میں پھر آپ کے نعلینِمبارک کے نقش پر فدا ہو جاوں گا یا رسول اللهصلى الله عليه وسلم
Please show yourself in a dream at least, to a poor sinner like me,
