Man I can't believe Goldn died of ligma at the con 😔 RIP
About the "Power Up" scream; that's MAGFest's Colossus Roar/Call. It dates back to the earliest days of MAGFest, when it was just a single room with some arcade games and some people playing music. Basically, someone was playing the X-Men Arcade game, and by virtue of being tired, bored, and probably totally hammered, he would imitate Colossus's in-game scream anytime he used his special move. Since it was a relatively small room, everyone could hear. So people started joining in. From that point forward, it just became MAGFest tradition for people to do the Colossus Roar.
The X-Men Arcade Game in question was one of the earliest donations MAGFest received, and the guy who donated it, Charles Margolis, sadly passed away in 2017. It now has a permanent residence as the centerpiece of the Arcade Museum, with flyers detailing Charles's story.
Also cool to see you talk about The Protomen. They're my favorite band, and the entire reason I came to MAGFest in the first place. Their show on Saturday was also my first concert, which I made sure would happen. I missed out on Bit Brigade just to have my first concert be The Protomen.
I've always heard it as a "Colossus Roar" but, yeah. Everything else checks out.
@Kyrokashima yeah I think it's officially called the colossus roar; I just call it the "Colossus Call" for that sweet, sweet alliteration.

Thanks SiIvagunner's liked videos
Thank you for putting that parking lot on blast lol. It was great to see you in person!
That’s really cool that they had a convention there. I went there once when I was a kid and was pretty taken back at how much space it took up, so I can definitely imagine an established con of that magnitude being really fun there.
Really good summary of the convention and excellent job explaining the quirky little guys doing quirky little things that make Magfest great. Some of my favorite things to do at Mag are the 3AM cheese meeting, Team Rocket Summit, Mag'N'Seek, and recently this year I got into ribbon exchanges. Also, on sunday they do a charity auction that is absolutely unhinged and amazing to watch. Hope to see you next year!
I was one of the Dimitris at the Fire Emblem photoshoot. Cool to see you were there for that and for the Metroid shoot. Some really cool costumes at that one.
Get well soon dude!
That's my local movie theater you saw Minus one in.
Your buddy should've parked in the garage next to the theater.
There is a bit more rep for Godzilla stuff at Anime Expo, especially since Tamashii Nations always has a booth on the exhibit floor. Downside is? California.
California? 😔
Glad to see someone take the Mean Bean Machine pill.
4:30 I haven't heard it in a while but i think the person who told you was confuse or maybe they are just similar but it sound like the Colossus yell from Xmen arcade. One of the Screwattack guys either started or made it popular at Otacon years ago. It was even ban there because it got so annoying.
You went to the same convention where the famous captain s premiered
Always funny to see the old game consoles.....did you see an Atari 2600? I had one in 1983 or 1984,played it for years,I was eight or nine when I got it.....yes to you I'm probably ancient LOL!
Looks like a fun time! Lol Dr. Robotnic's mean bean machine was great. Remember playing that all the time as a child but couldn't get past the guy after the monkey doctor. The artwork by all those artists look fantastic too, good stuff
You remind me of Brad from the Poorhammer podcast lol (which is a good thing)
Damn you didn't ride the mechanical bull?
Of course the kaiju Caddicarus autographed lacks feet
17:37 Wait, what film?
Signed an NDA.
Godzilla Minus one was definitely trying to tell them LEAVE 16:26
Thanks for accompanying us! It was a blast and I hope we go next year!
