Later models of the PS3 weren't backwards compatible with the PS2 (only PS1, dunno why they felt the need after removing a bunch of useless ports to lower the price to then remove a feature people actually used), and the "slim" model came out a year before this game.
I blame France for the “tiny screaming idiot character” trope in not just the Minions but also the Rabbids from the Rayman games.

Why is a 2010 game a PS2 exclusive like we were four years deep into the PS3/360 era
5 for the 360 at the time because that came out in 2005

Because the PS2 was still a big moneymaker even as the PS3 and next gen consoles were on the market. The affordability of the PS2 and mass appeal made it very popular in lower income households and foreign markets not to mention it was easy to produce games for due to his lower fidelity. Whenever a game got a Wii port in this era, it was basically a PS2 port with motion controls. Keep in mind that foreign markets were still producing PS2 games well into the PS4 era due to the damn console still making bucks in countries like Brazil.

I believe they also had Hop on the DS and the Despicable Me 2 mobile game that grew so big they are still updating it today.

One of the goofiest parts of this game for me is the fact that the story is practically an alternate timeline of the OG Despicable Me. Instead of Gru stealing the shrink ray to get a loan from the bank of evil he just says "nah, lets just steal the rocket parts instead"

This was the first game I ever bought. It was back when gamestop gave you your disc in an orange envelope. I love your channel because I have EVERY GAME that you make a video about! Through sheer coincidence, my childhood was all of these games. everything from the astro boy video game to that horrible cat in the hat nightmare. I hope I see more of my old favorites appear on your channel in the future. If I may make a suggestion, try the Narnia PS2 game. It's actually pretty fun. Good luck with the war level near the end though, couldn't even beat it two player with my brother...

I remember I had this game for the Wii. I got frustrated with the controls and never finished it. But watching this gave me a really weird sense of nostalgia.

The platforming reminds me so bad of this Zack & Cody DS game i had when i was little. Some spy-themed stealth platforming sidescroller, except there everything was way heavier than it should be. Weird times
