It’s nice that your lashes are straight, because you are in charge of how much curl you get. Mine curl too much and I’ve never heard of an eyelash straightener.
@@annikabjornson998 I use a mascara guard and waterproof mascara to reduce the curl on my lashes.
Smitha, you do NOT have short lashes. They are straight. Once you curl the lashes, you can see how long they actually are. Applying mascara brings them to another length level.
My eyes are so deep-set/hooded that I literally can’t even use a lash curler 😅

Don’t underestimate that eyelash comb!! I swear it was a game changer for me.
I use a plain spooly I swear by before using the eye lash curler. Separates the lashes perfectly, and puts them in their correct place, so the eyelash curler can do it’s thing properly as eyelashes are all separated beforehand

I would never, never, never again curl my lashes after applying mascara. I once ripped out my lashes that way

Another tip if you hate removing waterproof mascara and want to remove your makeup easily: do a very thin layer at the root of your lashes with waterproof mascara and let it completely dry, then continue as you need with a washable mascara and try not to go too much through your roots.
What a great tip. But if you want to remove waterproof mascara, you can also use a balm make up remover, it comes off, very easy, like the one from Juno.😍
Just use baby oil.
I use olive oil to remove waterproof mascara. Works like a charm…

I’ve been doing same routine for a few years now & it makes a huge difference. For special occasions the only other step I’ll add is before applying my mascara I’ll dip a fluffy brush into my loose face powder and add that to my lashes (then I’ll apply mascara & the rest of the steps). People will ask me if I have on falsies. 💕
I use powder every day because eyelid oil interferes with my mascara and eye shadow.

Yes after getting the perfect liner, wings and mascara I always used loose translucent powder to set it and then go back over it all again. Makeup looks absolutely flawless and will not move for 24 hours

I don’t suggest curling after mascara because it will cause your lashes to break.

Both are gorgeous but I actually prefer the before eye. It shows off the beautiful almond shape of your eyes and looks very elegant as opposed to playful.

I used to have a heated eyelash curler years ago that worked really well.
I do the same. I have used the blow dryer since I was 19. I’m 62!😂😂😂😂 I used to always use a safety pin as well to separate them. Yes. Yes I did. And never poked my eye. My lashes were long and pretty. Not so much now 😢😊. I also put a light coat mascara then curl again too. I have never Lost any lashes

Heating the eyelash curler has been my lash "secret" for years! I used to use a hair dryer but now I use a lighter. Unless I'm traveling and can't fly with a lighter. Then I just use a hairdryer at my destination. You do have to be cautious with heat on the thin skin of eyelids, but as long as you do that, the result is AWESOME! for me, gives me a false lash look.
My Mum (MUA) taught me this when I started wearing makeup many years ago! It's the single technique that makes the biggest difference & really all you need for a quick out the door. I believe most people don't do it because they can't get it right, it's all about the timing. Thanks for sharing 🤍

I hold the lash curler down on my lashes for 20 seconds on both sides twice and apply mascara immediately it works wonders. I don’t crimp lashes by pressing crimper repeatedly, just 20 seconds twice on both

Wish I could find a mascara that is really waterproof and doesn't smudge. After a couple of hours I end up looking like a panda.
I set my eye area with translucent powder to stop the oils from interfering with my eye shadow and mascara. It's oil that interferes with the mascara. I actually use organic olive oil to remove my waterproof mascara. Lol!
I use Maybelline Sky High waterproof mascara and have never had this issue - no special prep required.
Maybelline sky high is the best!!

haha! I Love this hack! When my commute to work was Awful traffic- I began doing my mascara while driving. My natural lashes are petite 😉 stick Straight out (And blonde tips) so Curling makes a Big difference. When the weather got Cold, my curler ( that lives in the car now) needed warming. I would crank up the heat Rest my curler on the vent for a few seconds and Wow! Falsies but better 🎯
I have not yet added the EXtra Pow💥 black liner like you Smitha, I think I'll wait to try that when Not behind the wheel of a car.

I get my lashes professionally dyed and curled every 2 1/2 months ( it costs $65) and the results are amazing.
Excluding heating the curler .. we have the exact same routine!! So cool!

I bought a heated eyelash curler from Temu for $3! And it works soooo good too! It actually kept my lashes curled all day long and like many, my lashes normally don't hold a curl with a regular lash curler.
