    Thank you for doing this video. It was a game changer for me getting my Trek Domane SL 5 up and running on the Kickr. It was hard to find such an informative video. It's all a bit overwhelming just starting out, being a newbie with all the different variables out there. Set up was a breeze and worked fine on my bike and trainer thanks to you. I also did have to contact Wahoo to get the adapter kit. Their customer service was awesome. I think I received the adapters in 4 days via UPS from the U.S. to me in Canada. Have fun everyone and ride on!

      @@ariansafatian6293 Hi Arian. The thru axle that comes with the Kickr Core is not compatible with
      the Trek Domane SL5. You have to contact Wahoo and tell you you need the adapter and they will ship it to you for free. The Domane is one of few bikes that is not compatible with the through axle they send with the Kickr. I got my Kickr Core last year and that was the case when I bought it.

    Hey, awesome video, improved my situation a lot by changing the nut of the freehub. I still have issues to get my gravel bike chain running smoothly on my Shimano CS-R7000 11-speed cassette. I cant switch into the largest ring. Already tried finetuning chain but no chance. I have read some stuff about additional spacer even on 11-speed cassette, do you have any experience on it or tip?

    • @JDirom
      @JDirom  Před 7 měsíci

      I didn’t need a spacer. I am on a GRX drivetrain. I have to index for the trainer or it is slightly off for me for the highest gear. During the season I recognize this and just do, winter I index it, and come summer re-index for my wheels. Probably not helpful to your situation. If you are doing ERG training as long as you have it running smooth in a couple gears you will be good. Sorry I don’t have a better solution.

    Greetings! Did you have to use a spacer with your cassette given you’re using the shimano HG800 11-34? I’m currently using the HG700 11-34 on my Cervelo Aspero and the low gears are vibrating a bit.

    • @JDirom
      @JDirom  Před 9 měsíci

      I don’t use anything, I am running the cassette that came with the trainer. That being said the lower gears are not perfectly indexed. That being said GRX has a 2.5mm offset compared to a normal chain line to accommodate for the larger tires. I index the shifting to the trainer for the winter, and tune the bike in the spring getting it ready for the road.

    First of all, great video. One question I hope you can answer: does the new adapter set move the bike more towards the drive side? I have a problem with the chain being to close to the frame when in the smallest rear ring after installing my new bike with sram 12 speed. So if this set moves the bike just a mm or two towards the drive side I might help me get back on the trainer.

    • @JDirom

      Good question. Would you be able to mount the bike? Yes, the Canyon should mount, but is it ultimately good for the frame is likely what you are asking. That would be something to ask Wahoo when you submit the support ticket to get the adapters sent to you. Sorry I don’t have a better answer, and please do let us know what Wahoo says on this matter. Cheers.

      @@JDirom I have now swapped the adapters and have my bike fitted, your video was a big help so thanks again for the upload.
      I am going to follow up with another email to Wahoo to enquire. First impression it looks as though the new adapter is needed to stop the shoulder rubbing off the inside face of the chain stay and seat stay joint? So provided the recess is there to suit the O/D of the protruding shaft they should all fit.... best guess for now - (crude) video here if it helps anyone: czcams.com/video/MF_t6I-vk0k/video.html
      I shall let you know what Wahoo reply with.

      "Hi Robert
      Thanks for getting in touch and yes the old adapter will need to be fitted in order to use a previously compatible bike e.g Specialized, Canyon etc etc.
      Please do let me know if you have any other questions.
      Kind regards"

      @@rob3rt891 thanks for sharing. That is unfortunate, makes it hard to share a trainer for people in similar situations as your own. But an important piece of information to users of the Wahoo. Thanks again for sharing this!

      Good question, but unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. I imagine because the old versions are still used for other bikes like Canyon, Specialized, etc, they might not be sent with. Please do let us know if they do arrive with your Kickr Core, it will be valuable information for other. Enjoy the new trainer! Cheers.

    Hi, thanks for this very informative video. Don't we need to use a torque wrench to tighten the cassette (usually up to 40Nm)? Thanks!
