The unbalanced items is what made playing this game with my cousins so fun. We'd set items to aggressive and play 150cc with upwards of 20 random courses and hard coms. It was a blast, we were all so invested.

Go learn how to play Sonic Riders and then you get to evaluate Mario Kart Wii's standing in difficulty.
MK Wii largely comes down to BS rng. Sonic Riders requires a really heavy time investment just to be competent with the basic mechanics (and then proceeds to become the best kart racer of all time once you master those mechanics.)

The mega mushroom does flatten racers, which slows them down for a moment. That and the overall larger hitbox when used justifies the mega mushroom's existence in my opinion.
The Mega Mushroom was god tier in Battle Mode. Use it at the right time in a crowd of players and you could get three or four points in one squish.
In addition, it gives you the same slight boost to speed as the star and lets you go through off-road for shortcuts, while also letting you dodge certain objects.

The last game I played on it was Super Smash Bros Brawl, with my best friend, Brandon. That was over 7 years ago. But once he started dating this chick, we never hung out again. But, I still had our replays and the pictures and the memories of when we played Brawl. But, I couldn't bear to go back to them right now. I'm still a bit sad, even if it was 7 years ago, it still hurts me a bit. Also, my TV that I played Brawl on exploded, so i can't play my Wii on that tv again. So, it had to go to storage. I'm glad I could've experienced Brawl with a good friend. At least I'll have the memories. I just hope he's doing well, wherever he is.

I remember growing up I wasn’t allowed video games until I was thirteen, and the first thing I got was a wii, along with Mario Kart. Honestly a great game, sure it’s extremely frustrating and takes a while to get the hang of, but the challenging aspect of it kept me interested for a lot longer than any other Mario Kart I have played since. I still have the wii to this day, and if I’m ever chilling with my roommate and we are bored, plugging it in and playing a bit of Mario Kart is a great way to pass the time! I do really recommend it to anyone that doesn’t have it, it’s reputation isn’t brilliant but I think it’s a solid game that has held up really well!

Story Time: in summer 2009, my mom had went on a vacation with my aunts to Michigan so it was just me and my dad at home. One random afternoon my dad said let’s go somewhere. I asked where and he said it was a surprise. So immediately I was soooo excited. Evidently we pulled up to the toys r us. We went right to the console section and my dad picked up a Wii. He said pick out a game. My eyes immediately locked on to mariokart Wiis bundle with the Wii wheel. And 14 years later I’m glad I picked mariokart. That’s just a fun story I’ll always remember about the game.

@@steeltalongranduer2303 inside drifting bikes are infinitely easier to control and use although there are fewer of them also mario kart never showed this but each character has hidden stats making some better than others which is why daisy on mach bike and funky kong on flame runner are often used by pros because of their natural speed and inside drift

I agree with NoobDatKool. Wii wasn’t supposed to be chaotic, but it was. Since Double Dash has two people in one Kart and double item boxes, it leads to more items and more chaos.
@@tech_gamer5543 Yeah, MKWii has less items but it's more chaotic overall because of the potential to catch up with the first places. Double dash is just lotta items, the special items where cool though.
Tech_ Gamer double dash was amazing, it would be fun if they rereleased it for the switch so more people could experience 16 players in one Mario kart game
mk7 150cc's items are just plain unfair, you still have a chance in wii and dd

Oh my God, I also lost a tooth whilst playing this game back in the day! It was wobbling and I did a trick with the Wii remote and hit my face and it knocked my tooth out.

Actually, the reason why Nintendo chose to go with "Mario Kart Wii" instead of "Mario Kart X" was because Smash Bros. Brawl already had a similar title in Japan called "Super Smash Bros. X." :)
Pat2wik It could have also been because MKWii was only the 6th game. I’d bet when MK 10 comes out it would be called Mario Kart X.
