My son, 16 yrs old and my daughter 20 yrs. old we have been called to The Latin Mass, my son kept desiring more silence … he started saying people should not be talking before or after mass…. We went to our first TLM this past March 16, we traveled 1 1/2 hours and it was so beautiful, I can’t even describe the beautiful depth of what it did to all our hearts!🕊🔥!
As you speak of the Norvus ordo & TLM, my son & my daughter said so many beautiful things after we left the mass, but one thing that hit me hard was my son saying, if children and teens were brought up within this mass we would have more priests and religious…. He said I would love to serve within the TLM.
To see this mass as Coming to Calvary with our Lord, Praise be to God for the enormous gift of the TLM. You continue to enlighten our family as we have entered into this new beautiful journey and experiencing it all, thank you again father for sharing your love and gifts of this mission you have been called too!
Prayers for you daily for your strength & protection 🙏🏻🕊🔥🙏🏻

A friend was telling me that he was recently (last week) at a N.O. Mass and there was a woman dressed in white on the altar purifying the chalice after the distribution of the Holy Eucharist. This is the devastating result of feminism, which, I think (after listening to clever people on this issue like Tim Gordon and Michael knowles), was the gateway to transvestism. When the ideologies of feminism are accepted by men (including clergymen) and women, they become weak and effeminate (full of vices), hence, the mutilation of the Liturgy.

    • @francikeen
      @francikeen Před rokem

Don't exonerate the heretical MALE priest who allowed such liturgical abuse to indulge *His Modernist Agenda.* Tim Gordon and Michael Knowles blame women/feminism for all modern social problems... while they kiss and caress the common male vices like: drunkenness, drug abuse, domestic abuse, neglect, greed, selfishness, egotism, gambling, pornography, adultery, and criminality. They are too cowardly to correct their own peers, other men, so they pick on those smaller than themselves.
They even blame women for wicked men. That's called MISOGYNY. MEN are transvestites. But the gender-confused, like Gordon and Knowles, blame women for perverted MEN. So it was actually Gordon and Knowles who led to transvestism because of their gender-confusion.
      Merriam-Webster definition of Feminism
1: the theory supporting the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes
2: organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests
If men had fulfilled their obligations, then women would not have even needed equal rights. But unless you were born yesterday, you know that men quit the patriarchy. Men stopped providing for and protecting women, in favor of *their own self-indulgence, which makes men hard-hearted.* Only MISOGYNISTS claim that sinful men are feminine/effeminate. In reality, *sinful men are hard-hearted.* That is what Jesus said: due to the HARDNESS OF THEIR HEARTS. (Matthew 19:8) Tim Gordon got fired, from his teaching job, for his misogyny.
Gordon and Knowles make up their own false, fantasy definition of feminism, as their replacement for *fallen human nature and the 7 deadly sins,* so they can blame women for society's problems, while they kiss and caress the common male vices.

I spent most of my Life in Novus Ordo. There is a disconnect, a vagueness relating to the Gospel of Redemption. There is almost no sense of the intensity of the need to be saved, the corruptibility of man, and the utter need to rely and depend upon God, and to submit and surrender to Him. There is no sense of Communion with God, and no sense of the sacrifice of Christ and our desperate need for it, a mortal need for it.
There is nothing historic to the Novus Ordo, nothing Patriarchal, nothing sacrificial, no connection to, or continuity with the past of, the human race. It's a severance of Christ from Adam, and us from Christ.
It's INSANE. And it is amazing how the Church can be ruined by bad formation, withheld truth, disconnection between teachings and rites.
I mean, the change in Confirmation! Don't specify WHY the Holy Ghost is being asked to pour Himself out for? Protestants can pray for the Holy Spirit, but they cannot call down the Holy Spirit permanently outside of illicit Baptism.

This is awesome insight on the Mass. I am 59 and only have known the Novus Ordo. To be honest from the heart, all this in fighting on the Mass, the lock down of the church during pandemic, the sex abuse scandals still going on, the pagan ceremony at the vatican in '19, the lack of acknowledgement by the Pope and the USCCB on the outspoken defiance of Pelosi and Biden on abortion has left me shattered, angry and distrustful of the church. I am too old to learn latin and have been robbed of so much, the more I hear about the latin mass. I don't have one near me and I have watched online from time to time, but I totally get that you have to "BE" there to get it. The ONLY thing I hold onto now is Jesus. I haven't gone to Mass much since the pandemic, it's changed. I think the Lord has taken His hands off the Church at the moment until we get to our knees. But it isn't the same, something is missing. Anyway, God bless your work Father. I will pray for you.

It is a battering that the faithful have been taking from the world and in the past decades even worse from the hierarchy. But you are right never to lose you trust in Jesus, never let go of Him. He is fully Wise and fully Strong and fully Loving so He will keep every soul that the Father sent Him to save, including yours.
If ever you could get to a TLM, don't worry at all about learning Latin. That comes more or less slowly to everyone. You get familiar with phrases like "Amen" or "Agnus Dei" and are at home with these, and slowly more words become known. And the hand missal is a great help whether one knows Latin or not. And even for priests who say the Mass and Office every day, they are still learning after decades (because some of the the hymns in the Office are so old and poetically written that it is not obvious even to this proficient in Latin exactly what they mean).
I think you get it. But hang in there all the way. Who knows: in 5 years the TLM might be in many, many places again. God bless you. You have my prayers.

I’m so glad to hear Fr. Mawdsley talk about how the text of the gospel has been changed. I’ve been mapping other changes to the original text such as “just” and “justice” to “righteous” and “righteousness”, “penance” and “do penance” to “repentance” and “repent”, “presbyter” and to “elder”, and many more. Related to this, there has also been a general dumbing down of scripture over time.
These changes, originally introduced by Protestants in order to make the Bible less Catholic, are now mirrored in nearly all Catholic Bibles. Only one Bible translation is free of modernist meddling, that being the Duoay-Rheims, which has been largely ignored by both Protestants and Catholics.
Don’t take my word for it, though. Do your own comparisons.

I don’t understand why the priest would use grape juice. Do check this out with another priest! You have a right and an obligation to know! What good is an invalid Sacrament? But it’s not your sin if you truly didn’t know. Do not go to that Mass until you find out for sure. If the grape juice is invalid, the Blood of Christ is not present, rendering the entire Mass sacrilegious. There is no sacrifice if there’s no Blood.

Read it in whatever language you like before Mass, and meditate on it. Then when it comes up in Mass you can either simply listen to it chanted, or listen to it spoken, or read along in Latin while it is said, or read along in English while it is said, or whatever you find helps you pay attention best. But it is the reading it before Mass that will help prepare the ground of your soul for it to penetrate deeply in the liturgy.

Second, the change was done in the context of an "Institution Narrative", not an act "in persona Christi" (St. Thomas tells us the latter is essential). Third, the Novus Ordo has expunged every notion of the true definition of the Mass, so there is no clear indication to the priest that they are to act "in persona Christi".

Father Mawdsley, hello from Canada. Can you please comment on what St Peter proclaimed to the Jewish people, after Christ, our Lord was Crucified if this same rejection of the cornerstone is the same in the protestantized novus ordo - Sacrifical Altar, which represents Jesus Christ and offered to Holy God, replaced by the "meal table"? St. Peter proclaims Jesus as the cornerstone, without which there could be no Church (Acts 4:11, 1 Pet. 2:6-7). The reference to Jesus as the cornerstone comes from Old Testament passages like Psalm 118:22 and Isaiah 8:4, and refers to the sanctuary or Temple of God where the Israelite people worshipped. I would like to explain this to others attending the Novus Ordo that the Catholic mass is Sacrificial-Roman Rite-Latin, and we are sacrifical Catholics. The Sacrificial Altar is gone! I have in fact used St. Peter's words in Acts 4:11: "This Jesus is 'the Stone rejected by you! I believe it is the same the protestants rejected, as the Jewish people did. Sorry if this is a bit lengthy. In corde Iesu, Mariae et Ioseph

    • @ScriptureandTraditionFrJM
      @ScriptureandTraditionFrJM  Před rokem +4

Your comment is certainly not too lengthy, but I don't know if I can give an adequate response here. There is quite a lot in "Crucifixion to Creation" about the necessity of an altar for us to live with God, as also sacrifice -- and that the novus is designed to turn it's back on these in erroneous preference for a meal. You are quite right to identify the "cornerstone" in the Scriptures not only with Christ, but analogously with our altars, for it is upon these that the Church Militant is built.
In "If You Believed Moses (Volume 2)", I will attempt to show that Protestantism is actually born from Judaising errors married to Christians with a worldly spirit. The Jews know that sacrifice is essential, yet they are without priesthood and Temple, so they cannot offer the lambs which Moses commanded... except of course that they convert to the true Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. Until then, their aversion to the Catholic altar and priesthood and Holy Sacrifice (all three of these are participations in Jesus Christ), filters through to Christians with weak faith, and is a major contributing factor to the Reformation. Not that we should blame Jews for the Reformation. It is Englishmen who rejected the Faith under Henry and Elizabeth. It is Germans who rejected the Faith to follow Luther. Each carries their own blame. But some Jews acknowledge (even with pride) that the Reformation could hardly have taken off or been sustained if it were not for their influence.
I think it is very important for Catholics to understand this. For many decades we have heard that the Mass of Paul VI was composed in order to please Protestants. This is true, but it does not get to the roots. In fact, I believe, the novus ordo was ultimately to fit in with the powerful errors of Judaism, a submission to the spirit of this world. And the answer to this is not that we rail against the Jews but that we take responsibility for ourselves, that we seek to know God through Jesus Christ, love Him above all else, understand how He gives us His Life through Tradition. Then we will never, ever, ever surrender these goods again. And this great witness will be one of the factors which, in the end, helps to provoke the conversion of the Jews. It is a victory of love.

@@ScriptureandTraditionFrJM A great, comprehensive reply for me Father Mawdsley about the "Cornerstore". I can use it for discussions, confidently now! I am home now at the Traditional mass for 1 year now, and I am so grateful to God that the Holy Spirit has led me to the mass for the true and due worship to God. With God's Graces, we are building quite the Community. I see all the erroneous preference for the meal table and abuses in the Novus Ordo, and I've been listening for years of the Bugnini devasting liturgy and all the communist infiltration right to the top, which is has our Church in crisis. I have listend to the majority of your Scripture & Tradition videos, and your talks with Fatima Centre, Kennedy Hall & more...I see this deep connection Cruxifiction to Creation--it is profound for the Latin Mass -- and can be easily shared with others who do not have peace at the protestanized mass. The egg is fertilized in the Petri dish, creating a baby with a soul. The doctors try to implant the baby in the womb to develop, but this is done many times in the hope that one of the babies will implant. Most do not and they either let them die or actually freeze them for use in experiments or making certain vaccines and medications. IVF causes multiple mortal sins. Stay away from it!

Why is the Blood separate from the Body? Does this have to do with OT sacrifice?

When you capitalise the Blood and Body in your question is seems obvious you are asking about the Mass, which is a memorial of Calvary, where Christ poured out all His Blood for us. The life is in the blood. He gave His very Soul for us -- the anima Christi -- and the pouring out of His Blood both symbolises this and actually is Him giving His Life / Soul.
The OT animal sacrifices were an anticipation of this. They made sense as a preparation (how else should they kill them, without breaking any bones in their bodies?). But they make no sense post-Crucifixion. So Christians don't really get it (except abstractly). Indeed we recoil from it. It is senseless now.

The TLM etc. has its place where there is a demand for it but I am content with the NO. I hope I speak for many of us Catholics on this. Although Fr JM makes good points such as contamination and that of one language fits all, and meaning not lost in translation, learning Latin wouldn't come easy to all so we'd be once again lost and unfulfilled in the Mass as used to be the case with TLM. Hyperbole comes to mind here. You'd think the priest facing the communicants is in keeping with the Last Supper. That former point about gaslighting comes to mind too but I don't see it. I am against a lot but idea of Women priests or married priests doesn't seem so bad. Still. Although on face of it a lot different it would be nice to see the Orthodox and Catholic come a lot closer together. Distance apart seemed to have had a hand in the schism. Internet perhaps could make a reuniting difference there..They seem more tied than the protestants. With Kind Regards!

Blessing a Sodomic Union is utterly corrupting the word "Blessing" for a Marriage Blessing" is to bring forth children (off springs)
The words 'I came from the Father" suggests he came Blessed of the Father whereas The words "I came out of the Father" suggests a rebellion, like Protestantism came Out of Catholicism , not From Catholicism

I agree with the mutilation of the last century, it is clear to see and terrible. One critique I would offer (which comes from research laid out by Fr Cassian Folsom of the Monks of Norcia) is that the development of the liturgy from the time of the Church Fathers up until Trent was not at all a perfect development. Even disregarding abuses that arose from heretics, the liturgy had become "overgrown" with Carolingian Piety which was a problem for Rome (who desired liturgical "sobriety")...therefore many prayers and actions were removed in Trent to prune the overgrowth. The history of the liturgy has never been "perfect" or linear in its development.

Thank you for your comment. If a clarification helps, I believe that the stability of the liturgy from c.1570-1950 indicates that it had reached a 'perfect' proportion. If its development can be likened to a garden, then of course there were those periods of growth and pruning to which you allude. But once the whole has reached maturity, then it needs only a gentle touch to keep it well (whereas before there might be a deal more digging, planting and lopping).
I still believe the pre-1955 liturgy is 'perfect', but we have to understand what 'perfect' can mean in the context of liturgy. It is not like drawing a 'perfect' circle. Rather, it is like you have been in love with your spouse for 1570 years and realise you do not want to change anything about them, even loving the signs of age and so-called 'imperfections'. The long-won familiarity reaches a point of perfection.

The Novus Ordo will not survive this century. It was a Mass tailored to fit the Second Vatican Council, which was a council tailor made to fit a specific time-frame with its specific mentality...much unlike Trent, which was meant to reiterate eternal truths. This is not to say that it is sinful, not a pleasing sacrifice (in and of itself), or an affront against God, but rather that it is temporary and will be forgotten about in one way or another.
