Belfast Titanic Glider ExecutesTurning Circle

- I'm down on the Queens Road at Titanic. This is now on the new Belfast Glider route. There were major congestion problems on this busy road when the Glider and the 'necessary' bus lanes were introduced to accommodate it. After the first week major readjustments were made to the road markings and things seem to be running much better.
Here are a few minutes footage of the Titanic Gliders in action including the use of a large turning circle at the end junction of Queens road and East Twin Road. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
this is what i wanted to see, how the big accordion makes a turn.
'the big accordion'. That' s brilliant prawnjohn! lol
Looks like it's working better for you than the similar ones we had in Swansea did. I think your roads seem longer and straighter and more suited to them, whereas Swansea Council spent millions changing the road system to accommodate them, and then millions more changing it back when they got rid of the buses. Hopefully, Belfast Council have more intelligence than the plonkers running Swansea (into the ground) have!
We do have a lot of straight road stretches BB1 and that helps. I just don't know what will happen. The jury is out. Only time will tell. Opinion here is very much divided on the Glider. I would say that Belfast City Council are no better than Swansea CC!
Poor mans tram. These buses only really work if they have their own infrastructure and what limited infrastructure they have to share is properly upgrade including the crappy British and NI road surfaces.
I don't care for them but if they really must, they should go all electric and ditch the hybrid powertrain, whether cable or BEV.
In Birmingham, we're going to be saddled with these with an excuse not to build the tram system up, especially to the west which is so heavily reliant on cars and buses...
Thanks Tom. I’ve enjoyed all your videos about the new glider.
Thanks Joan. People have a lot to say on the Glider. Opinion is very divided.
That thing does look good. I hope it works out because it failed everywhere else. Maybe Belfast learned from their mistakes?
I don't know what to think Brendan. I too hope it doesn't turn into a white elephant. It does indeed look good but all that glitters .......
Opinion is very much divided on this bus. Many folk I talk yo rant and rage against it others say it is great. It's hard to know just what to think. I've read a bit about the way it worked/didn't work in some European cities too.
Tom it's changed a lot since I lived there only bin away 4 years it's very modern now that new glider bus woo wee thanks tom your like a brother in a different country all the best Paul p Birmingham England ☺👍
Hey thanks Paul for all your support and kind comments.
I'm only an old retired bluffer who likes to talk and see what is going on around him.
105 passengers with 39 siting and the rest hanging on for pure death
Fair point Alex. Not too mum and baby friendly, older person friendly, or disabled person friendly. Thanks for posting. Best wishes.
Good video mate👍
Thanks Andy.
its ok if you happen to get from east to west in a hurry with the change of a driver in the city centre...….glide my ass....could walk quicker..... it took 15 minutes for a driver to take his coat off
My son hates the Glider. He says they are an expensive move in the wrong direction. Thanks for posting alex.
you are very welcome Tom....every time I have been on Glider it does everything else but glide...….and it is always packed with prams and babies...….and i'm staying with metro

Cattle wagons waste of money
Hi LFSS ASP, Thanks for your comment.
As you know the introduction of the Glider has really divided public opinion.
Some people including my oldest son, think exactly like you do, while others think they are working well. I'm not sure what to think myself. Time will tell.
Best wishes
