  • Most people say the prices of VFS are $35000 and $50000. They're not. There are a lot more expenses that you will need money for before you start. This video is meant to make you aware of these and help you with ways of saving some money of you're already in a tough situation.
    Please plan ahead so that you don't find yourself stuck with little or no money. Try your best to get some sleep every few days and eat something other than burgers sometimes. Good health can make your much more productive and end up saving you time.

    • @everythinganimation1183
      @everythinganimation1183  Před 5 lety +2

      Yeah, try to figure out which stream you want to go into asap. Once you know, choose a simple demoreel idea that you think you could do in no time at all then spend months on it making it literally perfect. They always push towards story based films but honestly what will get you a job is showing skill in your field. That may be a 10 second animation of two people talking and a well done action piece for an animation demoreel, a super realistic object that could fool people as a modeling demoreel, or a realistic VFX shot that combines multiple mediums seamlessly for a VFX demoreel. There are also other subcategories like layout, rotoscoping, lighting, etc that you could make a reel for. Don't get too caught up in showing everything you know in your demoreel, just what you actually want to do. Of course, try your best in every class because the better you understand all the other areas, the better you'll be at making your work streamline for a pipeline. Most importantly, make friends. Most of your jobs when you get into the industry will be from people who like you. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you have a great year :)

  • @TheGleoProject
    @TheGleoProject Před 5 lety +2

    you didn't consider VanArts ? or is more expensive? what do you think about that school ? or why vfs ? jajaj lot of questions. Also I'll be so grateful if you could take a look to my demo.

    • @everythinganimation1183
      @everythinganimation1183  Před 5 lety +1

      I did consider Van Arts but I fell in love with VFS when I visited it. Also, I wasn't sure about what I wanted to specialize in in the beginning and VFS was good for that because they let you try out everything in the first 4 months before making you specify and you can change your mind later on if you want which I did do. Van Arts was trying to get my to go into modeling and I would have hated it and I'm not sure about the opportunities for switching specialties in Van arts so I might have been stuck in modeling. Also, I've heard that VFS graduates have a much easier time of finding a job after and are known to produce better work on average and that's not just me saying that.
      Vfs costs more. Van Arts costs Canadians
      $25,750 CAD and Internationals $31,750 CAD for their 2D/3D animation course.
      Chack out Van Art's website for more info www.vanarts.com/programs/2d-3d-character-animation/
      Nice demoreel! I can see you have your own style and a lot of love for what you do! Any animation school would love to help teach you since you already have so much experience playing around with animation and drawing. I could make a few adjustments like only putting your top 5 animations but that will definitely be good for getting into an animation school.

      Math and IT. It's more of a question of what you should do, not, what should you take. You should watch youtube and online tutorials about game development and actually do it right now, every day! If you truly want to do it later on, you will be doing every day anyways so might as well make all your beginner mistakes now while you're just in highschool and can have some good fun with it

    • @everythinganimation1183
      @everythinganimation1183  Před 5 lety +2

      I'm not sure about all the programs but I graduated with a Diploma of 3D Animation and VFX. I see no reason to get more than that. Honestly, you could get into the industry without either if you're good enough and self taught but that would be extremely difficult. The school gives you teachers and one on one help and has created a structure to help you learn easier. They also let you meet people from the industry and your class which is where most of your jobs will come from plus a lot more that you could technically do on your own if you're really motivated. So, no, I wouldn't all it a necessity but a huge help in something that is very arduous already.
