Lone Star Trail - Sam Houston National Forest, TX

Did an out and back hike on the Lone Star Trail in the Sam Houston National Forest in Texas. Total miles was 6.87 and 269' of elevation gain in 2hr 49 min. It was a beautiful sunny day. Temps at the start were in the mid 50's and in the low 60's by the time we finished. Trail is nicely marked and easy to follow. There are some wet areas but those can easily navigated.

Nice area, definitely a huge difference from your previous hikes with basically no elevation change or mountainous scenery

It was a nice relaxing hike but I do prefer the hikes I did out west in the mountains.
