The innocence in her voice really sold this song for me. No one else could sing this the way she did. I know she wrote it but I'm glad it was never given to another artist.
She's worth it, ATM is a classic and a hit, yeah, but she's much more than that. Her second and third albums are a masterpiece and brings me nice memories of my teenage years!
Abe is amazing. He played on her first album, and I think he did the second as well. Look up videos of his dad (also Abe Laboriel) playing bass and you’ll see where he gets it.
Drummer is Abe Laboriel Jr. who's worked with the likes of Paul McCartney. He also played drums for Vanessa's first album, and notably for "A Thousand Miles".
Harmonium is such a great album, as someone who is currently the same age as Vanessa was at the time, I feel it so much. A great album about the experience we face and feel as young adults in the world. A timeless body of work!
Anyone in 2024 finding themselves back here?

What a precious voice. So many singers now days are famous that should not be. This Lady should be at the forefront at truly being above the rest!!!!

This is really good. Feel like she should have been bigger.

Is that Arion Salazar on guitar from Third Eye Blind? If that's him, makes sense, cause the producer of White Houses was Stephan Jenkins.
Sounds close to the record
What the industry did to her because of this song is such a tragedy
What happened?
@@johnrutledge4659iirc, the description of losing her virginity was “too much” back then, and it wasn’t played much on radio/tv
was this in 2019 or 2004 filmed with a 720p camera that nbc got their hands on
This was 2004, I saw it live.
2004. HDTV broadcasts started in the USA in 1998. Tonight Show started broadcasting in HD in 1999.
