Daltrey is as good as he is decent. One of the few 'celebrities' I'd ever have a desire to meet. As a childhood cancer survivor, his work with organizations for kids with cancer hits very close to home.
Another amazing appearance by Roger is when he joined Queen onstage at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert and sang the lead on "I Want It All". Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath also performed on that song and the crowd at Wembley Stadium went insane!!!
He earned it. He went through hell holding on to the band from 65 until the 70s, he had a solid acting career, he is a landmark on rock's vocalists and a reference no one can top... He is responsible for maintaining the Teenage Cancer Trust's famous Royal Albert Hall charity concerts since 1990, a staple of charity and pop culture. Him and Pete took care of John Entwistle financially speaking, in his final years. We all get old. What's your point? Virtue signaling without a clue about life?
Only if they don't apply themselves. Even without a college education, you can still do well. I did. Now retired, I bled blood, sweat and tears. And I gave the extra mile in my jobs. Not for my employers, but for myself. And it paid off. At 65, I live comfortably now. Hard work will pay off.
Yes I was about to send this link to all my old grooves who were giant who fans like myself. I agree the drummer for Foo Fighters kicked all form of ass in that cut. Pretty damn good Keith Moon imitation!
@@juliebryne2903 Moon was organic, he thought drums on another level of tempo and rhythm... he arranged his drumming almost in real time with Daltrey's vocals and Pete's guitar, he didn't just played a straight blues cover like everyone. There's no one like Moon, you're absolutely right! ;)
you know, thanks god i am not in the rock and roll business. After bands like The Who it seems that all is said and done and the young men have really nothing new to say.
What a good band they are ! They play with passion and very loud. I am sure Roger Paltry must be thinking in John Entwistle because he was always complaining about him being to loud.
There is no equal for moonie! Never has been and never will be! He was once in a lifetime! By the way i love the foo fighters also but moon has no equal!
Are you crazy? The Who were four frontmen in a chaotic stage presence that somehow worked and it's unmatched! Foo Fighters is Dave Grohl's band first of all, he's the boss in control, The Who was free to play music with Pete as songwriter, no band in that time could match that, it's not FF that will do it now.
@wcasey3rd Roger saved the song, DG runs around acting like he's playing but is banging an open tuned guitar while the dude in the shadows actually is playing the riffs and song. Just look when he tries a solo it sounds like a 2 yr old banging on a guitar....pitiful!! Great job Taylor, and the dude in the shadows, but Dave has to b the most overrated guitarist in the past 20yrs period.....go back to drums where Ur jalf decent dave....
I am the biggest Who Fan, so Who fans please don't be mad......... but I have to admit that on this one, Keith Moon, one of the best ever....... and Pete Townsend were outshined by a bit. What a fantastic youthful cover by the Foo Fighters !!! In fairness though...... the Foo Fighters fell short with the Bass guitar......... Yes, if you are a true Who fan you will know..... the unsung hero of the Who ultimately was John Enswistle, likely the best bass player who ever lived! Rest in Peace John......and Long Live Rock!
Bullshit, 40 years of learning, and in no way shape or form did either outshine the original.they played harder, but not classier. Speed doesn't equal quality.
@@bcrater6400 I guess I should finally reply huh? B Crater in my opinion you are partially correct in that Isle of White version had by far the best Character of this song. Daltry was at his best. And again as always in EVERY case and EVERY comparison in my opinion nobody can match Entwistle...........not even close. For the other comments before this......dont be too hard on the Foo Fighters........and dont forget it is a compliment they are covering the Who's music !!! They are just a big fans as us all !! This thread is great because I get to go back and listen again and again, and well..........it's just joy overall. I miss the old days of real rock and roll that of the Who, Zep and even other musician lead bands like Rush ! (This is where my 'being tight' as a band influence comes from). And also the Foo fighters are tight.......and while I don't actually like some of their own songs.........I do enjoy their covers of the old boy network for sure. Stay safe all.
God they proper fuck that up good style...you can see the look of despair on Rogers face in the middle....I love the foo fighters but will stick to live at Leeds for this song

I've met him a few times. He gives the best hugs.

Yeah He Sure is Special!!!!
As far as I’m concerned HE’S THEE BEST EVER!!!
NUMBER ONE!!!! 💙🤍❤️🔝
roger daltrey could play with the worst of the worst but with him fronting em they would simply become best of the best. rock on roger.
I saw the Who live 2 years ago and they played for almost 3 hours they are amazing Rodger is the best to ever pic up a microphone
I don't know. Foo Fighters the worst? Really? OK. A little harsh, but by no means the worst.
@@ufafgd
I don't think he meant foo fighters but just as a general statement.
Another amazing appearance by Roger is when he joined Queen onstage at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert and sang the lead on "I Want It All". Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath also performed on that song and the crowd at Wembley Stadium went insane!!!
YES! THAT WAS GREAT!!!
Young Man Blues, Live At Leeds
That is all
Isle of White is damn good as well
Wow! This is one of Roger's best latter-days performances. :-)
Agreed. The Foos bring the best of everyone.
Today Roger is the old man with all the money.
He earned it. He went through hell holding on to the band from 65 until the 70s, he had a solid acting career, he is a landmark on rock's vocalists and a reference no one can top...

LMAO…. He DAMN WORKED HARD FOR IT TO! DESERVES IT!!!
That's brilliant😅
he sounds great.
The contrast of Dave and Roger gets me every time. Great cover! An absolute joy to watch
Great Mose Allison song, one of the best songs off the Live at Leeds album.
Roger is. A. Bad. Ass. He. Could. Still. Beat. Most. Of. Us. Up. Lol
One of the best crossovers of all the time
Fucking legend.
What a great combination! Love this!
I enjoyed this as much as I did their Live at the Aisle of Wright!!!!
Ummm I did not. Moon was at his peak.
@@cubstransplant1361 2:28 Looks like a little nod to Keith at the Isle of Wight show.
What a song!!
Simply WOW! Dave G. and co. really nailed it on this one. Good stuff!!
Fantastic !!!!!!!!
Man, tks for the up. Awesome!
Moses Allison !
Badass
50 years later young folks have even less in our unequal society

Moon is impossible to match but this guy does a damn good job but there will never be another moonie!😊
Are you crazy? Not even Moon could match Moon by the late 70s, sadly, but just because of his health... don't diminish Keith Moon.

RIP Taylor John and Keith
His middle name is Harry not Fucking.
Mods and rockers on the same stage? What is this?
The Mods and Rockers have joined forces. Now they're all Mockers.
Bzorlan since when is Dave grohl a rocker?

He was actually a rocker…. But had to play the Mod back in the day!!!! Now I think the Brits just say “ Modcoker.

As loud as 2 747,s Jet Airplanes taken off! The Who.
