"Evil Morty" is actually the Rickest Rick. While C-137 "Rick" is the Mortiest Morty.
Not that Morty grows up to be Rick. But that C-137 Rick, and Evil Morty swapped brains, as an attempt for Rick to negate the brain wave issue.

To be fair - I didn't catch that on first viewing and I'm usually pretty good at catching those kind of clues. But then again I could be dufus Rick.
Werner van Alphen I did not either when I first saw the episode. I thought the reveal of evil Morty was a gag. It was not until I watched theories that I started noticing clues. Now that u know of them, I like watching people react to the show to see if they notice them as well. I was hoping that this video would be their longest because they would spend so much time making theories. I'd really like for them to react to theory videos before they watch season three. If not, then they might catch on once they see the other clue in season two.

Beth said it's been a year since Rick became again part of the family, and at some point in the previews episodes Beth also mentioned that she didn't had Rick in her life the most of her childhood, So the baby Morty is still a mystery if it is the our Prime Morty or not.

Ioan Taf It was a mistake, they said they didnt want to retcon it and that they would work with it. It's been some years since that episode, so they had lots of time to find a way to make it work too.

A lot of people don't know this but there are official comics of Rick and Morty and one of my favorite issues is one where it turns out Jerry meets Doofus Rick once a month to hang out, which I think is logical conclusion to their story arc.
If anyone hasn't read the comics I highly recommend them, while Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon don't like coming to previous ideas, the comics have no problem bringing stuff back like the meeseeks and the before-mentioned Doofus rick. I mean that issue I was talking about before has Doofus Rick's Jerry literally take over the citadel of Ricks and another has Rick become a Drug Lord by using Meeseeks as dealers, check em out
Which volume/issue is that in? I've read vol.1 and 2 I have Headspace(iirc) but haven't read it yet.
I think the comics aren't part of the show. They take place in dimension C-132, not C-137 where the show is. They did this to avoid conflict and give the comic writers more freedom.

Concerning the "time travel box" you mentioned several times and time travel itself in all the other discussions: The creator of the show himself said the box is like an easter egg because they don't plan to ever go into time travel, he said he really thinks every idea possible concerning time travel has been done already so basically that wouldn't be creative enough. Don't forget the idea of time travel is around since before 1900 even.

The main Rick in the show not getting along with the others makes me think of Doctor Who and the other time lords. Plus the eye patch reminded me of the eye drives used to remember the Silence.

maybe something happened to him and our rick chose this reality because in this reality the rick has been gone

The eye patch control is a call back to an episode of Star Trek TNG where some Conn Artist used such a device to signal her hidden colleagues when to project certain holographic illusions.
This is the episode that raise a lot of question and fan theories like who is Evil Morty, why he was framing Rick C137 but kill every other Rick, why Rick have a memory of baby Morty when he supposed to be gone for 20 years....

It was mentioned in an article or interview that they won't be touching time travel stuff since it's considered cliched, so it's why we see time travel "Stored away in a box", haha.
They were right though, to me only having parallel dimensions is actually quite refreshing~

It’s interesting to see the level of tech that Rick achieves as the show progresses. At the start, Interdimentional travel is his crowning accomplishment, and it still is to a degree, but early on there’s still a lot of things that go wrong, especially when you see “Evil” Rick get killed by all the Mortys in this episode. Later on we see Rick have energy shields, laser weapons, Iron-Man armor, cybertech implants, etc. Late Rick is neigh immortal.
