One of my fav episodes. “You know what they do to other prisoners in time prison. Same thing they do in normal prison. Only forever.”😂
Popular theory is that the baby Morty from Rick's memories was his original Morty that he lost somehow; Rick isn't from the same dimension as his current Morty, and in this Morty's original dimension (the one that got Cronenberged) he had been gone for 20 years (perhaps the original Rick from this dimension died). Some people speculate that our Rick's original Morty was actually Evil Morty, and that something bad happened between them, which would explain why Evil Morty was trying to frame Rick for all the murders.
But what we learned in this episode is that despite how he treats Morty (like shit), Rick genuinely loves him and would sacrifice himself for him. The weird love/hate relationship between Rick and Morty is one of my favourite things about my show and was explored pretty well at the end of one of the recent season 3 episodes. That's just our Rick though, there are plenty of Rick and Morty's that don't have that kind of relationship. But then, it's only our Rick and Morty that count as they are, as Rick puts it, "the Rick-est Rick and the Morty-est Morty" - Rick and Morty Prime.
DextroDNA this is exactly what I was thinking, but remember Rick hates that part of himself. He hates his irrational connection to Morty. It holds him waaay back, although arguably not enough considering the kinds of things Morty deals with on a regular basis
He doesn't necessarily hate that part of himself, he just finds it toxic, which it is. It's unhealthy for both of them and they both know it, but it doesn't stop them for carrying on as they are.
The Morty left behind in the intro to the two green aliens could be evil Morty. Other parts of the intro was put into episodes so far so that one might be enlarged in a future episode on how he survived that encounter.
DextroDNA the "ricklantis mixup" teaches us though that EVERY Rick and Morty thinks they're the Rickest Rick and the Mortyest Morty. And we also learn the narcissism inherent in ALL Rick and Morty's is going to be the thing that ends up destroying their society and way of life.
Fun fact: The Rick and Morty we saw at the start of the first episode are probably dead. They arent the ones we usually follow.
In fact, any of the episodes could be with different Ricks and Mortys. Its just a few episodes we can trace a continuation to determine they are the same ones hehe
Fun Fact This episode features the only case of Time Travel in the entire series to date. Dan Harmon & Justin Roiland have stated they want to stay away from Time Travel but we see the 4th dimension creature use it. This is the only time we see actual Time Travel in the series so far.
No0neAtAll well it's more that Rick will stay away from time travel
If you're talking about the 4th-dimensional guys beating up Einstein in the after-credits scene, then yeah that's the only instance of it.
Isn't it also mentioned in the pilot, when Rick says he went into a future dimension?
that was a dimension where everything just started earlier, but the same point in the
multiversal timeline
What about Ricksy bussiness, where he freezes it?
Just as season 3 finished, Blind Wave post their Rick and Morty video... man, i can't get enough Rick and Morty...
I find you everywhere 👆 good taste
Jinx The Babe Cannon see you on all of the tfs stuff as well
At the beginning that fake reference that Rick makes actually TONS of reactors laugh at it pretending to understand and then are visibly embarrassed that it was fake lmaoooo. Not you guys though so good job 😂
Haha, this discussion really went off the cliff. Cool episode & reaction.
Werner van Alphen Wow that escalated quickly. That really got out of hand fast.
I hope they realize/remember that time travel hasn't yet developed in the series. Rick couldn't have visited baby Morty, those are real memories of his.
they werent suggesting time travel, they were suggesting that rick came back in secret to see baby morty, and left without anyone even knowing he was there
Or that he visited baby Mortys in other dimensions.
He time travels in the pilot episode doesn't he?
Philip David Davies no
@@philipdaviddavies9478 theres a couple theories on that with the neutrino bomb (thats what you’re talking about right?) one is that the bomb was defective. another was that it was a different universe than the main C-137. another is that Morty learned or accidentally figured out how to disarm the neutrino bomb and thats why he knows how to do it in the Vindicatios episode. That also leads into different theories of how morty is smarter than hes letting on and maybe thats how one of the Mortys became Evil Morty. You can go down a huge rabbit hole with this stuff
They are finally starting to hit the big question. why he has memories of a baby Morty even though he's been gone for 20 years. If only the was such a thing as a multi-verse.
Just so you do know, the writers did say it was just a mistake. However, I'm pretty sure they also said they will try to make it into something.
When did they say he was gone for 20 years?
James Coalman wait so it's an inconsistency
TheYoungMuTe
I believe they have confirmed it was in an interview however I also believe they said that they would try to make it into something anyway.
James Coalman I see that's interesting
Calvin described the actual definition of it. Shane is conflating it with a cause of death.
Just a heads up guys, Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have emphatically stated that they do not intend to ever introduce time travel as a possibility in the canon of the show; as they feel that it would be their "jump the shark" moment. With regards to the memory that Rick has of playing with Morty as a toddler when he had supposedly been out of Beth's life for 20-some years, most people seem to think that the Morty in Rick's memory was a different one from our Morty in the show. Just because he wasn't in the lives of Beth and Morty from the show for 20 years doesn't mean that he wasn't in another Beth and Morty's lives.
Star Trek: The Next Generation had an explicit directive not to ever do time travel. As a result, they had some of the most creative, interesting time travel episodes of any series. Eventually they loosened up and we got things like Mark Twain in a two-parter. But before that, the writers wrote great episodes like Yesterday's Enterprise, A Matter of Time, and Cause and Effect, which skirted around the rule just well enough to get made.
Soon we will see what 2 humans can accomplish with 3,000 Flurbos.
GOODBYEEEEEEEEEEEEE MOOOONMEEEEEN
Oh boy, here I go killin again
Blips ‘N’ Chips!?
Ha unlike another group of reactors I watched you guys didn't laugh at the redgrin grumble thing when Rick first said it. It shows you are genuine and not just laughing when you think you should laugh.
That’s stupid. It’s a joke within a joke, what’s wrong with laughing at satire? I don’t think you got the joke.
@@greatcesari No i think hes saying there are reactors that laugh when Rick compares Jerry to Redgrin Grumble which isnt a real thing. So theyre just laughing insincerely because they think something funny was said. Rick is actively making fun of those people

The natural causes talk went on for sooooo long LMAO
That "natural causes" debate was so frustrating. Seemed like Aaron and Calvin were arguing just for the sake of arguing lol
They do. Calvin especially, but Aaron is also a contrarian.
Shane was wrong, so it wasn't really Calvin arguing the point that I found the frustrating part.
But they ended up being right lol.
They were right though. IMO final destination death = unnatural. Death from consuming greasy hamburgers = natural...because what else could you expect?
I actually agreed with Calvin and Aaron about that.
Although I think Aaron arguing about Rick's time collar was frustrating
You actually never die of just getting old there is always a reason
So the thing about the "third trimester fetus" is since they are a fourth dimensional being, time is a dimension of space to them. So in theory, just as someone could drag you to a new region of space, they could drag you to a new region of your time.
What a full of life cheerful discussion
Wasn’t that the thing a langolier. From that Stephen king mini series
"If my heart gave out right now it wouldn't be natural". It absolutely would. Age has nothing to do with whether a death is deemed natural or not. If an old person dies of a heart attack and it is classed as natural causes, then it will be the exact same for someone younger because the cause of death is the same. By the way, how did they end up discussing what is classed as natural and unnatural death after watching a Rick and Morty episode?
Shane is so wrong with the "natural causes" thing haha. It's so funny.
In the closing clip after the credits, the time cops are moving through different time periods of the earth, then they meet up for a bit. A small mammal like creature enters their bubble, and is carried to another time period with the cops. It moves along the bubble as they move, but then exits the bubble into an unknown time (maybe the sea clip). If the cops are moving haphazardly through time and not linearly, the mammal could be put back into time and thus be the origins of mammals on an ancient earth.
The outline around the house when it teleported away is something I DID NOT see until you guys mentioned it. Very nice touch. Also, I'm surprised Jerry and Beth didn't see it when they left for ice cream.
I like the line where Rick says "What the hell, what have you done to me Morty" and you see how he automatically knows something went wrong in one of the other dimensions, and that it had to do with his grandson. We are all Rick.
Amazing episode
When rick gave morty his collar he was certain on saving him... lol he has a heart
Did any one else notice that the time police looks like a Langolier from the Stephen King novel
That’s exactly what they were lol. I think lost people are too young to get the reference.
No love for "Please god, O Lord, hear my prayers. Yes! Fuck you God!!" That's the funniest part of the episode imo
Now that Rick and Morty is over for atleast another year and a half, It's nice to have this to look foward to every week to take it's place.
13:20 maybe this rick spend time with his family and lost them so he maybe just changed dimension with a rick that died or left 20 years ago and took his place.
This was a very impressive episode just from a technical standpoint.
One of my favorite episodes.
I think the fact that our rick actually cares about Morty is what makes hike different from other mortys
The time creature is a langolier
"I'm okay with this...be good Morty. Be better than me."-Rick Sanchez (*when he's about to die*)
My favourite line from this episode:
“You stole a time freezing crystal from Testicle Monsters?!”
I think those things were langoliers. From tue movie based on stephen king novel. Their heads look like them. In the movie they call the langoliers the guardians of time. So i think it fits
Great reaction!
"I vill mess vit time. I vill."
I get it guys, Shane got it wrong, but there's no need to be so upset about it. I'm sure whoever reads the comments is about to get a stroke... Would that be a natural cause of death if the stroke was caused by stress? Or by an "outside" force like a notebook...? Oh my, I'm getting too ahead of myself. But yeah, give the guy a break
p.s. That was a rethorical question
(to counter my FMA:B comment) This is what I expect from BW! Sure funny commentary may be easier on a funny, less plot heavy show, but you guys have provided hilarious commentary on serious shows on multiple occasions. Not to mention the post show debate which was also hilarious! This is the BW I subbed to see!
I want one of these a day :( but season 3 is over now and season 4 isn’t coming for like 2 years so you guys have plenty of time to catch up
I can’t believe they didn’t mention about the space of probability full of Shrodinger’s cats
Langoliers reference
Blind Wave+ Rick and Morty= the best thing ever
When are you guys starting deathnote?
Episode 4 of season 2 is my favorite Rick and Morty episode.
13:50 remember that they are not in their home dimension, they escaped after rick potion 9
I like how the cracked driveway shows up in the future episodes. Love continunity.
The 4th Dimension monsters are from Stephen Kings The Langoliers 😅
Harley Quinn's Frank the Plant reminds me of the 4th dimension creature. I wonder if this is the inspiration.
The baby morty rick remembers is most likely a morty from a different dimension
Shit I don’t remember this comment nor do I know WHAT I’m talking about 😂😂
9 More seasons! Come on 9 more seasons of blind wave reacts
Why is smashing the mouse a thing you do? How did it start?
Even if someone age 20 has some sort of organ failure, it's a matter of weather or not it was caused by some sort of external force or if its just in the persons genetics. Even if its in their genetics its safe to assume that its a genetic fault caused by some other external force which affected that persons family genes years before.
13:37,
and so it starts..
its still just a theory, but it is said Evil Morty was C-137's Ricks original Morty, the Morty we all see in the show isn't C-137.
That Zelda shirt is so cool omg
Nice meeseeks box.
I wish these guys would create a vidme account or something so we can get the edited video's here and the full length one's over there.
It never to late to react to Red vs Blue!
"these lights were designed for basic ice cream work"
wish you guys would do black mirror!
Sooooo, do they do these for every series on a weekly basis??
More Plz
Dope t shirts.
5:29 honestly that just makes it worse a trophy is only good if it's earned and not eating it is wasting good meat
When Rick said Red Grin Grumble, I thought he was talking about Canadian comedian Red Green.
Has anybody realized that the time travel creature is a reference to the Langoliers?
This is literally the best show ever! 👌👍
Rick already answered your questions about how the frozen time works. "Don't think about it." LOL
we've past season 3
we're in waiting for season 4

yay I love this. Please react to more legend of korra.
Calvin just staring at the camera for a bit during the natural causes debate, hilarious.
A heart attack is considered to be a "Natural Cause", regardless of your age. They will also record what the person died of specifically (heart attack, kidney failure, cancer, etc), but they consider it a natural cause. If you die in a car wreck, a gun shot, explosion, knife wound, overdose, etc., then those would not be natural causes.
There are plenty of people who eat healthy and get a healthy amount of exercise that drop dead at relatively early ages from a stroke or heart attack. It's not as if the coroner investigates whether or not you ate a lot of greasy, unhealthy shit before they can determine that you died of natural causes.
When your talking about rick been away 20 years I believe your right but they reckon this is how evil morty is formed been ricks first morty as he abondend him
They all had to have the necklace thing on to synchronize their reality that's why rick couldn't do nothing at first and why one of the Ricks was like what did you do to me morty because he was like dammit I do care since they were all still the same rick
Who else forgot how they got to the topic of the natural causes death thing, about half way through the argument.
Chris! You killed mah gun!
The lawyer guy is Mr. Peanutbutter!
What does Calvin say at 23:32?
I never noticed the guy in the chair at the end
Why did they cut the moment that rick prays though?
So um when you guys gonna react to the rwby volume 5 trailers
Now we have to wait a whole week for the next one :-(
MOREEEEEEE
Lol when the Indian randomly appeared next to the dear for some reason I laughed until my sides hurt. It was just so random.
Great Reaction! Trust me this is one of their most confusing episodes
Watch game theory's episode on Rick was gone for 20 years and morty is 14
It's not any spoilers from season 2 & 3
Well there goes my plan of sleeping early tonight.
"Natural Causes" as defined on the Internet: In simple terms, natural causes refer to internal factors - like a medical condition or a disease - as opposed to external factors, like trauma from an accident. In other words, natural causes could be anything from cancer to heart disease to diabetes.
sort of like, "natural causes for their chosen profession" i can't remember what movie that quote is from.
Rick was only gone 15 years!
The time people look like Langoliers
I swear I almost always shed a tear when Rick accepted to sacrifice himself for Morty by giving him his collar. Great character development!
He may not always be nice but in the end he's a good guy!
Fuck yeah, Madmartigan!
Detective Eric
Waiting for Season 4....
Beth, you're a veterinarian too.
I think Key and Peele were the 4th dimension guys weren't they?
They were
Please react the Inhumans episode 1 and 2... thanks!
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
