- Fire truck 81 Is called to a lethal rescue call but they're not going to pull this one off without some help from Chicago Med.
Season 4 Episode 3 "I Walk Away"
51 receives a call in the same troubled neighborhood of a man with a crushed foot which leads into the wife of the victim giving Boden evidence of the previous incident that could clear Boden's name. Meanwhile, candidate Jimmy Borrelli's (guest star Steven R. McQueen) brother meddles in trying to get him moved into a different house. Dawson looks into an arson investigation that puts Boden in hot water. Also, Brett gets attached to a previous call. Dawson suddenly suffers from abdominal pain and collapses.

"It's not as bad as it looks"
Almost dies
Of course it is
when did he say that? bc if your talking about at 0:36 he says "it doesn't hurt as bad as you think"
✨👆💦🤨🐱Tirkkf
When Chief Boden said “Call a surge from Chicago Med, we’re gonna have to amputate” The subtitles showed he was saying “Your gonna die potato”
Lol 🤣🤣🤣I just tried that out
Lol 😂😂😂
I saw that🤣🤣🤣I'm crying
"Not today."

ASDF Movie
Hawk LOL
"we have to leave the leg behind"
Ehm yes its crushed in pieces like how are you going to fix THAT?! 😂😂
Well there is always a small chance but yea that thing even if saved would be just a lumb of meet for the rest of his life he will not be able to move it or anything
@@bibosbarb9627
Depending on the type of crush injury, as long as there is blood flow, amputation should only be used as a last resort. There are plenty of individuals whom suffered spinal cord injuries to extent they are wheelchair bound. They probably did a nerve check of his left leg to be sure.
But given the sheer extent of the injuries, as the container would have severed the main veins and arteries to his leg, to say nothing of the bone damage, plus the very high risk of Crush Syndrome, then amputation, at the scene, was the only option ...
would have depended on how many breaks or fragments there are. A metal plate, multiple screws, and some serious PT is usually how they would have done it if the limb had been salvageable
I just love how Chicago PD/Med/Fire can casually crossover with each other like it’s nothing.
Chicagoverse...
@@creatip123 yes!
@@creatip123 it's mad that law and order is also in the chicagoverse
@@matty__sharpe__ But wait - how does that work with Van Buren and Goodwin????
The way the firefighters use their coats to block the amputation is amazing they are giving. Couple privacy and thats stunning
I was looking fir a comment like this. Do much respect for giving the others as much privacy as they can
yea my dad is a firefighter, got called to someone jumping infront of a train, they had to shield the rest of what shouldn’t be called a body anymore, firefighters see some sh!t
@@UnknownShiny I'd imagine so. It's amazing that most of them don't get PTSD from all the tragedies they seen. I mean at least surgeons are trained and prepared on seeing fleshes, limbs, etc. On the field they gotta plow through any thoughts and emotions, but it gotta leave some scars in their subconcious.
@@creatip123 people in this line of field have to have such a strong mentally to see this stuff on a daily basis, respect them so much
Elena will be proud that Jeremy is a paramedic now 😂😂
😜
And he works with Tyler's Uncle
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed!
Script : "okay call Chicago Med tell them to send a trauma surgeon,we're gonna have to amputate"
Subtitles : "okay call Chicago Matt telling the senate trauma surgeon, you're gonna die potato"
Haha
Tell the senate trauma surgeon? I AM the senate trauma surgeon
yessss
Casey *sees crushed leg under container........
But still asks "What happened here Steve ?" 😂😂😂
He's testing neurological function to see if the patient's mind is intact and can process memory
Dr Halstead looks too Young to be a doctor lol he looks 16
How can he look both 😂
Nicole Bremner tv uses 30-something year old actors to play teenagers lol
16 years from death you mean
Because he shaveeeeed
Mickie-gee no he looks about 5 😂🧒🏼
Am I the only one that went "OMG JEREMY LIVES ON"
Yes
No I said the same!
yes i said the same
LITERALLY, he’s even hotter than before aswell😂😂
Ikr
Is it me or does chillie look like dr Reese from Chicago med
harriet hoskins it’s the curly hair
Kubabtn I know they look really alike
Even I have been thinking that
Yeahh
Omg yes
I know losing a limb is bad, but to be completely honest; I'd rather lose a leg than an arm, and I'd MUCH rather lose my leg than my life.
I don't know some people prefer to die then to have to live their entire lives without a body part especially something as important as a leg 😔
@@ayooshhayoosh They do make some really cool prosthetic legs nowadays though, thanks to 3D printing.
Yeah I would rather lose a leg than an arm any day.... my leg usually hurts so much that I sometimes wish I could just cut it off.... from the knee down at least...
This takes place before the first episode of Chicago Med even aired, I think.
It was early in season 1 that Will mentioned to Connor (I think) that he did a surgical residency.
This must have been then. He was technically a surgeon, and Connor wasn't around which is why they sent him. Also explains why he looks so young; it was earlier on in his career and he was, in fact, younger.
It's called a backdoor pilot. It's when they introduce characters or a setting for a spinoff within the "original" show before they put out an actual pilot episode
before will came back to to chicago he was a plastic surgeon in new york this was told by jay on chicago pd
Yeah, this was the most confusing part of the CMed intro. No doctor goes from being a trauma surgeon to ER resident 😂
Seriously can't get over how this is Chase and he's a fireman. Kind of disappointed since I thought he was going to be a doctor like his family members after he was done with House.
It’s his choice but same
Which firefighter?
YES SOMEONE ELSE ACTUALLY NOTICED
I guess it's a reaction. Everybody always thought Chase was a bit of a wimp, so he chose to find a more macho profession to proof himself
You do understand that Chase and Casey are two completely different characters, in two very different shows. The only similarity is the actor..
Is that Mason Lockwood And Jeremy Gilbert from He Vampire Diaries
Yes it is 👍🏻💖
I've been looking for this comment 😂😂
Anyone whos curious, the crushing syndrome is the build-up on toxins in a crushed limb due to a pinched vein. Basically, the blood cells go hypoxic and die (lack of oxygen) and become toxic. Usually, the liver filters these dead cells, but when there are a large build-up and a release, it basically overruns your filtration systems and causes cardiac arrest as well as other symptoms.
"Due to a pinched vein" wrong. It's the ischemia and necrosis of the myocytes after release and dead myocytes and potassium enter the bloodstream which can induce renal failure and hyperkalemia induced cardiac arrest. Also things like compartment syndrome where they may need to relieve to internal pressure through an incision (fasciotomy).
aka toxic shock
oh my goodness will looks so young in this ahhh
Why would u say no. It’s his leg or his life😱🤷🏼♂️
Ellie 0704 you have commented on every video I've watched 😂
Better to lose a limb than lose a life. For CPR, better to have a broken rib than kicking the bucket. It's a saying, before you ask.
Has anyone noticed how good Casey's accent is? The actors literally an aussie like that accent is so on point
I guess this was before Will switched to emergency medicine?
mxgirl918 no it’s not he went straight into emergency medicine when he moved to Chicago
I think he's like an emergency medicine/emergency surgeon.
He was originally a plastic surgeon (like before he came to Chicago) and then when we went to med he went into emergency medicine. Because he was already qualified as a surgeon he could do the emergency surgery.
My main guess as to why that was forgotten about in Med was because plot
Still annoys me. He went from a surgeon (in CPD and CF) to a resident in Chicago Med. Just, no. The system doesn't work like that. *facepalm*
Okay this is season 4 of chicago fire. Chicago med started with the ED being opened and a grenade went off in the hospitals ED in season 4 episode 19 of chicago fire. So my guess is it's the same ED and this was setting up a character for med. In the episode where a grenade went off April and Dr Charles are there too, i think sharon was as well
Is that Chase from House??
Oon-Hui Ng yes
Yes
Yes
Yup, literally went from one emergency show to another lol
it's also Billy from Neighbours, but I bet you're too young to know who that is!
I like how to firefighters were covering the scene from the by-passers
He looks so weird without his beard
Kinda disgusted at people recording it (ik it’s a tv show but it
Happens in real life) like wtf
I'm sorry what? Like you said this is a tv show, these people are actors, nobody is actually hurt. I am struggling to understand what you mean.
Emma Bura cause this stuff happens in real life and people record. Ik it’s a tv show but this stuff actually happens~that’s what makes me mad
@@yochogiwhatbish8064 Ohhh, I see. Thanks for clarifying. Yeah I agree, it's disgusting that someone would take advantage of a situation like this to get views. Some people can be really inhuman...
Emma Bura agreed. If I was in a situation where i was in an accident I wouldn’t want anyone to record me. Am I a bloody play or something? I’d feel like omg I’d feel so uncomfortable people recording me if I was injured like it’s something cool to record.
@@yochogiwhatbish8064 Yeah it's truly disgusting and dehumanizing. Nobody should be turning the pain and misfortune of a person into a spectacle.
1:01 “this here’s Jimmy”
No excuse me it’s pronounced ‘Jeremy’
Woah it's now as bad as it looks!
*never mind I'm dying.*
Sad to see that Casey already forgot everything he learned during his time at Plainsboro Hospital under House :/
He was perfectly capable of doing surgery himself.
I am totally aware that losing a limp can be obviously physically and mentally life changing. I get it is a traumatic experience. But when faced with the decision of losing the leg or losing his life.... how can you need to think about that. If it had been me... I would hope my wife would be like "what you waitin for... cut the damn leg of before she dies...."
The guy who got his leg amputated is SPOT ON at acting
*”It doesn’t hurt as much as it seems”*
.
.
.
.
Well that’s reassuring
Casey ( I think) : What's your name?
Him: Steve.
Me: Since when did Minecraft get here?
I watch this all the time i 💖 u guys
Chief boden: call a trauma surgent
*Dr halstead shows up*
Me: I'm sorry but wth I'm pretty sure dr halstead isnt a trauma surgent hes an er doctor get it right people
They should have called rodes, right?
@@mirthedejong183 right
Mirthe De Jong I don’t think Rhodes was at the hospital yet, he came in later because Chicago Med wasn’t a series at that point
Thank you! I was like Will is an ER doc,not a surgeon
I think dr halstead was a trauma surgeon before dr Rhodes came and then he became an er doctor . I think anyway
and here we have dr halstead before puberty hits
1:19 she's recording it with a iPhone 3gs 😂😂😂
Looking at his leg under that thing I would of been very surprised if they would of been able to save it even if they were able to get him out without amputating. That thing looks squashed and like it would be completely destroyed.
Jimmy can save me any day 🤤😂
Ellä Hollis right
They looked so funny holding the jackets🤣🤣
I literally went “omg Jeremy!”
It feels like they left the leg under the thing, and everyone just went on their way
I'm the only who teared up when I saw Jimmy and Jessica? I miss them both! 😢😢😢
Halstead reminded me of my old English teacher in this episode
jimmy kinda reminds me of jeff wittek. the way he looks, talks..
Dr hollstad got a shave 🥳🥳😂😂
Why do you need to call Dr Halstead when you have Dr Chase 😂
My recommended is amazing 🤩
Everytime they rescue someone the person says like one or two lines then just loses consciousness
Dr manning should also be here!!!
Abigail Lunar dr manning is my fav in chicago med
@@caoimhefitz6206 Same xD
Halstead looks so young in this
Abigail Lunar I agree!
YESSS shes my fav!❤️❤️
Dude, I needed 2 seconds to realize that his leg has gone nirvana...
hey i love Chicago
Im watching this 100 times
Dr Halstead looks so young
And then u get people like me standing there etching and filming at the same time
Im laughing so hard it said that too for me🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dr. Halstead looks so young here
I really cant unsee Chase
1:09 JEREMY FROM TVD OMGGG
You know, weirdly enough after watching this, my leg was aching 😕
Luv u guys so much yet they always upload old vids
Always wanted to see how this enden
SDMN Gaming how
So weird hearing Dr. chase without an Australian accent 😂
This series needs a version for the paramedics
I saw a women with her phone raised and I just laughed my head off , even tho it was a tough time
Dr halstead looks soooooo young hahaha 🤣
For me It was hard to handle the pain of getting my ears pierced, HOW? How is he not howling in pain?!
Shinead Shinners Daly his body would be in shock... it doesn’t prevent all pain but it prevents lots.
Dr halstead isn't even a trauma surgeon
Well done Jimmy
Since when was dr halstead a trauma surgeon
That’s coming from a person who has watched most of Chicago med full episodes
What series/episode
awwww Will looks soooo young
Ouch
He isn't the trauma surgeon, The real trauma surgeon is too busy.
I mean it is a TV show soooo
Although it's a TV show, accuracy is pretty important , right ?
True I agree
Dr Rhodes?
They hadn't bothered to make up their specialities yet. And it's before the pilot, so Rhodes isn't at med yet.
Aww so younggg
1 - Will looks like a baby here
2 - In here Will is an trauma surgeon, but in Chicago Med he's an ER doctor?
This show came out before med
Will was a plastic surgeon before he became an ER doc. It doesn't make sense to put him as a trauma surgeon here, it was probably to introduce him to the One Chicago family.
ok all them dudes can like... get it
Love 😍
Baby face is gonna save the day dr halstead
Chase needs consent now. Pity there is no House for him.
Dr. Chase i miss you
Chicago fire good
This is literally why I wanna be a doctor now lol
Chicago fire is the best i love it when i was 4
If I had that on me or glass or something my teacher would say "put a wet paper towel on it"
Halstead kinda looks like Danny from full house
YAAAAAYYYY FOR EVERYTHING ACCEPT FOR THE GUY WHO HAD TO LOSE HIS LEG
Casey and Halsted look so young here
I’m sad ☹️ LOL
I’m actually worried
Again cuts of the best parts
1:19 the girl filming 🤣
Hahahahaha I thought the same thing lol
I didn’t know Halestead looks that young in series 3
They’re very into it
Me: how is his leg actually under there 🤨🤨?!
“can i hild his head“ -random woman 2018-2021
If anybody's watched full house Dr Halstaed in the fumnail looks like Danny Tanner
Lexie Court *thumbnail*
He was so young then!
Halstead isn't a trauma surgeon. They should have called Rhodes
Omg will is so young it’s sooo cute
I'm crying bad help
What was the syndrime?

Dr Halstead looks so young!!
