Meanwhile, Kidd lends Severide a helping hand. meanwhile, Cruz begins to get annoyed when Hermann, Otis and Mouch bring in outside investors for his invention. Elsewhere, Brett confides in Dawson, who suggests that Brett might be pregnant.

I really like that the firemen lied about her hitting him in the end. I think she defended herself in that sitaution.

Not supporting what she did to him, but I sort of understand her. She was reduced to taking desperate measures because her idiot husband abused her so badly. She had lost all hope and resorted to trying to kill her husband and herself. Lucky the husband didn't die, because now he can suffer the pain from that wound for a long time. He will get better, but that gash will most likely sting for ages and he deserves that stinging wound. He better own it.

Aha! I've figured what's going to happen next in the story line that's currently going.
So once the fire is completely extinguished the police start an investigation of what started it, but hali and Casey left a baseball bat crowbar and his mask. They might put her down for assault or tempted murder, then she will go to prison like Casey's mother did. Or they will confront her and ask a lot of questions about her husband then he will be arrested and hali will be taken to a shelter and then she can improve her life from there. Thx for reading..

Self defense allows you to protect yourself from imminent harm. AKA if someone comes at you with a knife you can shoot them. Self defense does not allow you to start a fire while the “threat” is asleep.

Its sad that some people just don't have the mind power to call out, and go from various risks just to find their own way. In this situation she just felt too scared to call the authorities on that man, so she instead decided to wreck a car thinking it can at least do something, she got a opportunity to make a confession at the hospital. But instead insisted herself to follow along with what his husband says. This then lead to her burning down her house after knocking down the husband as a last straw.
I just want to say that almost all her possessions she destroyed, just for revenge. That could otherwise be avoided with just one chat, another thing that just felt messed up. Was her accepting her fate, like our fellow gentleman Fireman has said, theres so much more left for her to live for rather than just accepting her death, but this begs the question.
If you were to be abused, would you end up surrounding yourself in fire. Or would you have the abusers life be burnt? (Aka shoving them into jail sentence of course)

Because he's a good person that's willing to break rules to do what may be, while legally wrong, what is ultimately the best outcome.
The alternative would have been the woman going to prison for what would essentially be attempted murder all because she lashed out in a desperate attempt to escape an extremely abusive husband.
Their was a case in my country where a doctor found out his patient had been severely sexually abusing his children. He decided to kill his patient by injecting a massive air bubble into his iv drip rather than risk an investigation falling through and the entire family being subjected to further abuse
